Thank you very much! Yes, both the GP-200 and GP-100 are incredible way beyond their price. We have Amplitube 5 too, but it doesn't compare even to the GP-100 in our opinion. Even dialed in for a long while, Amplitube never reaches the tones of just a factory set GP-100. Marshall tones in particular are MUCH nicer on the Valeton than anything one could ever dial with Amplitube. Tones are, of course, subjective. But what is completely objective is that A5 is a cumbersome expensive piece of software that requires heavy lugging for what you can do with just a compact all-in-one Valeton GP unit, 200 series or 100. Simply no contest for us, Valeton rules! ฅʕ≧ᴥ≦ʔʕ≧ᴥ≦ʔฅ
@@PairofPandas Thank you for such a big answer! Valeton sounds like from "box" in comparison to amplitube, as for me. I tried to tune it by eq and cabs, but couldn't. But valeton has its own style in sound👍🤔
@@user-vh8oe5cz8h Hm, have you tried the GP-200 too? It's more expansive bass and treble response as well as auto-cab-matching (very important) might be what you need. We personally like the GP-100 a lot too, and we still have it around, even though we have the big 200 to rock too. If you have the chance, try the GP-200 too. We hope you shall enjoy it! As for the GP-100, we have a few recommendations to building some cool tones without extreme mids: 1. start with the U-ban 4x12 cab from the cab section. We remember using this one in our main all-amps demo, and it sounded very balanced with no heavy midrange. Check the tones we got here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CmCJ4HzTjFo.html 2. try cutting some mids in the EQ section at 800Hz. Cut a bit and see how it goes. You can also cut a tiny bit of the low mids 400Hz as that may also alleviate the perceived "box" sound 3. definitely try the Marshall JCM800 (UK 800) model like in this video, and turn it's gain up a tiny bit (at least 35%). Also, it's Greenback 412 cab IR (UK-GN 4x12) is really good to try out not just with the JCM800, but with others too. Let us know if any of these help. Sure, you could get them to sound closer. But it's not about fixing. The GP-100 has its own tone, more mid-heavy, which is a very cool tone too! Nothing to fix, just a matter of taste at the end of the day. It's a bit tougher to add treble and bass to the GP-100 than it would be to cut them in the GP-200. But you could do that if needed.
