Hey Dan, after watching a bunch of your videos I went and watched John Carpenter's Escape from NY and LA. :) My wife very directly asked if I was watching (Escape From New York) for the synth...of course! Just out of curiosity, do you know what synths were used for Escape From New York? I heard he had used a Prophet 5 and maybe some ARPs?
@@SynthientSound Hey that's great, hope you enjoyed the movie - hehe - quite dark in tone. I believe he (Alan Howarth) used a Prophet 5, 2 Arp Odysseys, an Arp Quadra and a Linn Drum - I think Alex Ball did some really good coverage of this track on his channel in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NBw4OXM6ad4.html Check out the soundtracks for A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984 "PART 1" - especially stuff like - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U7Gf_A8B1s0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7wtSFMHzJrw.html or some of these :) Maniac 1980 Prince of Darkness 1987 I've mentioned Halloween 2 and 3 before - classics !!
@@SynthientSound don't forget how good The Terminator is with the Prophet 10 and OBXa too - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8PFzHrCcIFQ.html
Get on it! :) It hasn't replaced my other Valhalla, but kind of sits between them and offers a fun, creative sound which gets me a little outside of my normal choices. Your River, OB-8, and Trident would sound killer through it.
@@SynthientSound Will do! Shimmer has been my favorite Valhalla reverb so far. Sean with Valhalla generously gave me a license for all the Valhalla reverbs last year when he learned that I was injured in the Army. Fantastic developer! Another reverb that I've been enjoying this year has been Sonig by Relab relabdevelopment.com/product/sonsig-rev-a/ It has a free trial if you have an iLok. Besides the sound, I really love the interface.
