Things to Consider when choosing a location:
Look for an area that is already naturally flat
Try to build next to naturally spawning deer and boar
Be almost within eyesight of a black forest, but not too close!
Don't be afraid of the coast, bringing back resources from voyages will be easier if you are next to the coast
Items needed to build your home:
Approximately 1060 wood
5 stone
20 resin
20 leather
17 deer hide
25 flint
(Optional)
99 gold coins
2 queen bees
20 additional wood
The above amounts are what would be needed to build the house exact as in the video, if you make adjustments to the design bear in mind you may require more or less resources.
