Rescue Raz and Kai by reaching the target before the enemy does. The black tank fires its machine gun while in motion, so try not to leave any allies on its path.
You can get all the tanks or all the leaders in one turn but odds are you'll lose grenadier lotto and take a bad hit with the scout like I do. You can also save a turn by pathing over the sandbags which can be useful as grenades that hit as you hop don't fling you as much

All the enemies in Valkyria Chronicles have plotarmor.

They put an ace sniper in a spot that not only will you never go to in a natural playthrough but because you're running far from that position and theres no sight lines he'll never engage with you so you just wont ever know he exists unless you watch a guide or you're just feeling suicidal

@@angelwater8987 I actually found him on my first playthrough too. I was just trying to capture all camps to buy myself time to thin out the enemy. It worked, but man did that tank eat a lot of mortars.

@@nathanielthomson6600 Wow, no one played the objective, your objective was to destroy the tank and pack up and leave. But I get it, forming a strategy to destroy that aimbot tank with a weird radiator on the front is pretty difficult on first playthrough

I used up all my tank turns to wipe tanks out, ran and shot through to take the camp (cos I just can't take it spawning soldiers constantly) and those mortars feel like they're never gonna work! Lost lancers after deployment first time then used the APC to get up hill (then lost him ") ) THEN kinda forgot about game for a coupla years til today. I think this level burnt me up first time thru!) Lol I don't really like doing it this way but if my first try this time doesn't work then Godwin it is...I bet he'll die on me constantly....

A note on the weaponry: The OP reequipped Raz with one of the Robinsons. Otherwise he won't be able to fire back during the mission. Also getting Godwin there was pretty much the hardest part in this tutorial hands down, with that many grenadiers around. I was wondering if i should commit another turn on viola just to kill the turret as well

This made me readjust my strategy. I thought we'd have to reach the soldiers in distress, and then new objectives would force us to dig in and route the enemy forces. Thanks!

I spent a lot of time driving the cactus around and trying to take out the darn grenadiers and machine guns. A you do it so simply. Man I hate you! LOL! Good video keep it up!

What level were you running your scouts? I have mine at level 9 when I tried this. I'm assuming you need them at elite level to pull this off?

My scouts were at level 8. It took me a few tries, and it was not as easy as he did it, but it works. I used the first two scouts to take out the shocktroopers and you can run by the rest of them with your defense boost.

I always hated the unkillable boss tank missions in these games...but this one was total bullshit, his machine guns fire while hes moving around, completely destroyed my APC before I could get to all of the grenadiers

God I hate Raz as a character. Sloppy, undisciplined and insubordinate. Even with a war going on he would've been discharged with behavior unbecoming anywhere else.

Damn, didn't know there was an ace there. I had so much problems with this, the Hafen was at 9 hp. 2 of my people got taken out and those grenadiers were annoying me. Decided to blitz it with Nico like you did with Godwin.

It's interesting watching the differences between your version of VC4 and mine. A wooden fence standing, mine getting blown up, troopers demolished in grenadier fire (last video) while a shocktrooper barely survives on my end... Raz not freaking counter-attacking the troops right in front of his hotheaded face... like I said, interesting.

There are 2 fences the tanks can shoot at. The right one is metal, unbreakable. The left one is wooden, tanks usually go there if you have troops on the 2 front positions.

The Problem is, that all this kind already works in the first VC. But you should´nt play like the guy in the video if this map is your first time doing it. After all it is a tactic game.

I got nothing but A ranks so far. Then I get here. The first game had the same problem. Bad unexpected tank gimmicks. Revolting and frustrating to the point that I'm almost about to drop the game do to not being fun.

yeah whatever this mission is beyond fucking bullshit i hit a god damn unit blocking my path for my guys to move on the north route to raz and the very next turn he fucking ran from his position to go stop defending to go touch raz and i failed the other time my guy was 2 fucking feet out of HQ and couldnt defend it

and do you wanna know why im so fucking mad about this? cuz i almost beat it 3 times. the first time took me 3 hours meticulously planning. the other 2 times were 30 min disasters/mstupid mistakes. then i watch this and beat THE FUCKING MISSION IN ONE FUCKING TURN! just wasted my entire sunday lol is all

i killed him in my first try LOL i just mortar the shit out of him and dispach the other tanks with my lancer, end of story! eh, but i missed the ace... ¬¬ still, i took 6 turns to clear it, so thanks for this guide! and tbh cheese the game like this is so sad... it's like there's no challenge when you figure the flaws the devs left for this game! P.S.: Raz never counter incoming fire! what the hell! he counter with you, but mine just receive like a passive!
