A guide to complete the Valkyria Chronicle Mission "Rout of the Gallian Forces" of the "Behind her blue Flame" DLC. No copyrights infringements intended.
I find that on PC, this strategy needs to me tweaked a bit. The shocktrooper Erich is supposed to snipe at the end of turn 2 stands right next to Musaad, lighting Johann up with interception fire before he can close to grenade range. The shocktrooper Lilja is supposed to snipe at the end of turn 2 stands close enough to where Johann starts to hit him with interception fire when he first moves. The solution to this is to have Erich and Lilja do their sniping at the start of turn 2 instead of the end, keeping all three sniping targets the same, then carry out the rest of the strategy as shown in the video.
Exactly. On PC, Johan couldn't get close to the mole ace guy because the Shocktrooper was too close. I just had to snipe the shocktrooper and then proceed to throw the grenade. Luckily, even though I had to tweak some stuff here and there, I still managed a four turn, A rank victory. *phew*
Can't reply to my other post, but I wanted to mention that on the PC the enemy pretty much always knocks Kurt out with the tank during Turn 2, but you don't really need him or his CP.
In my experience, even on PC, if you leave Johan out there after throwing a grenade at the enemy ace mole guy, the tank will aim for Johan instead of Kurt. When I had Johan take cover on a previous attempt, the tank did kill Kurt.
I had one less AP than this video, but I still managed to pull it off with a four turn, A rank victory. Don't worry so much about the sniper that he kills on turn one. For me, the sniper didn't attack at all. You can get him on Turn Two.
I don't know how you do it... I keep trying to follow this video, and all my foot soldiers keep missing. Every. Single. Time. And I'm being mighty careful with my aim. But these freaking foot soldiers are useless!
Try it again and again. And do not forget to save after each successful action, i.e. a hit or kill. It took a few hours to get the footage for this video, repeating it again and again, whenever one missed or Johann died.
kuroganekaze I thought this was mission number 2. I got rank on the first mission. And then I went straight to this mission. This isn't mission number two?
***** It is. This is what I was told. You need to get A-Rank on missions 1 and 2 to access the 3rd one. Dunno if there's any bonus to A-Ranking the third one.
