Thanks for the recommend, Hell! When I saw this on Steam I freaked out cause I wanted to play it so bad after watching your LP but didn't have a PS3. Now I'll be able to buy it at the end of the month and enjoy the game myself :D
Draco Magnius It would be a lot of extra work though. He'd have to play through the entire game again on PC to try and get to the same point he was at in the PS version. I think it'd just be less hassle for everyone to just finish the PS version :/
I have to hope this PC port shows them that people love this game and they will start making them for consoles again. Kind of also hoping they might even make something out of the original idea shown off the back of the art book, the one with the rabbit ears girl and the mini tanks that look a little like Bonaparte from Tank Police.
A few short weeks ago, "Valkyria Chronicles on PC" seemed like something that wouldn't happen in the craziest of fever dreams. Now it's here, it's awesome, and it's selling like hotcakes. We are living in the god-for-damned future.
you know i always felt like this game was supposed to be on a pc and now it is and god damn i love just sliding through the menus p.s Mr.ween does this mean future Valkyria videos will be the pc version?
I'll probally get this then, was afraid that its a bad port. Let's hope that this is a start for more japanese game ports (Tales of, Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3, Xenosaga and and and). Also, with Metal Gear Solid 5 coming to PC as well, this might become a thing. Hopefully. Also, japanese voice over should always be a option! (Opinions differ, but i always want to play games and watch movies in their original voiceover)
If this ends up happening and the developers force you to download both the [Insert your language here] and japanese cutscenes/audio, Im am going to come to your house and strangle you. When I bought FF-13 on steam I ended up downloading near 25 GB's extra because they forced me to download the English and Japanese parts together. I average a 6 mb/s download speed
daandriod Strangle me? Unnngh. That aside, they should make it optional. They could make it in way that it only downloads the language if you change it. The speed wouldn't be a problem, even though i have a 5 mb/s, the size on the other hand...
***** Thats what I was complaining about, I doubt they'll actually do it that way. I would prefer to play the Japanese version with English subs but Im still forced to download both versions. It takes forever to download an extra 25 gigs with this poultry internet speed : (
daandriod Tell me about it especially since they've gone crazy about using uncompressed sound files like in Drakengard 3 the whole game is 15 gb but there is only 5 gb of the game and 10 gb of voices(just voices, not the whole soundwork). Thankfully there the japanese voice acting is a bonus.
You know, when I saw the title, I thought you were either a) being sarcastic about the quality of the PC port or b) doing a quick "Helloween totally fails" mission just for shits and giggles. Glad to see that the PC port is actually really awesome and that you remain good at this game! :D
See I could only play the sequel on my psp, but now I can play the original, this is gonna be so fucking sweet, and then we have your amazing A rank guide so, honhonhonhon.
I had been on the fence on whether to purchase the game on Steam or not, but you've convinced me. It looks sharp and smooth, and I'm already a fan of Fire Emblem games, and this game kinda of reminds me a lot of Fire Emblem.
Easily one of the best strategy games ever made... If you don't list this as at least your top 3 favorite strategy games, you obviously haven't played it
*Sigh* Binding of Isaac Rebirth, Bayonetta 1 & 2, Hyrule Warriors and Pokemon in a few days. Now this. Why are all the awesome things getting released now? Well, I trust your opinion. I'll likely grab this one during the christmas sale. Especially if it can run on a Toaster, since I'm still stuck with a 9600GT.
It crashed on me once after I picked my squad 7 people at the beginning and had to start again before the tank battle... Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but so far though it looks amazing
Yep just did it again, everytime I return to book mode the first time recruiting and outfitting... Grrrr now I have to wait and see if other people have the same problem and find out how I can fix it... Damnit...
Also T . T My PS3 is broken so I can't even play the original which I really want to after seeing this video. XD You evil bugger Helloween. Ah well maybe more reason to get the PC port.
