Tellin you guys. I’m running the Valkyrie 180 fixed and mechanical ( mixed quiver). They’re sick and the paper wheel sharpening system is dummy-proof. Can’t beat this set-up

Really enjoy the knowledge you all share been a great help. Went to shoots every Sunday with my father when I was a youngster and Harvested a few deer but never an elk smh. Recently started shooting again with a hand me down 19 95 mathews solo cam feather light that my pop gave me. Figured it's time for an up grade and got me a phase 4 29. Absolutely love it and harvesting an elk is now on my bucket list.

Been using the blood eagle from Valkyie for the last two years. Hands down a tough broadhead, easy to sharpen, and let's be honest a freaking awesome looking broadhead as well.

I still have some Valkyrie broadheads on x-impacts that I used to shoot out of my Hoyt Defiant. They are wickedly sharp and were devastating on elk and whitetails. Unfortunately they are too short to shoot out of my Phase 4. I might have to build up some more and test them against my Iron Will Snyder Core set up. ABT!

I shoot the Valkyrie Bloodsport. I miss judged a bull 2 yrs ago, and shot under him. I picked up the arrow and used it to shoot a 6 point the next evening at 65yrds, full pass through. Quality speaks for itself.

I've been shooting 4mm arrows for a while. They aren't weak especially the Victory VAP TKO. But u can take a Black Eagle X-Impact in a 250 spine @ a long length & it will weigh 25 grains less than the Victory that has a 300 spine with both arrows @ the same length. This year I will be hunting with my 400 spine X-Impact's with my recurve. I run with the Valkyrie short Jagger 210 grain with the Viking Centerpin system held in with the steel collar. Over 30" arrow with a total weight around 490 grains & the balance is 27.3% FOC. They r very forgiving & group tight. But my arrows r expensive & time consuming to build so I never fling 5 or 6 of them into a single dot center of a target. Very important to go all in with a full measure Valkyrie system. I've had heavy inserts/outserts on arrows that broke right on the failure point when the head hit something hard. My match grained Valkyrie field points r in great shape, no wobblers & I've yet to break a single arrow which is my goal when letting it fly.😮

Super sharp broadhead that will shoot through about anything but our personal experience is that it surprisingly didn’t leave a a good entry or exit hole on an elk (40 yd; double lung, broadside shot). One of the local shops that sells them said they’ve received some of the same feedback. Hard to complain with a dead elk but had we needed to track a blood trail I wouldn’t have been as confident in the results.

Glad to see you were able to connect with Brent...as you also mentioned, he's mellow and methodical and reminds me in many ways of Iron Will Bill's demeanor and 'overly engineered' tendency...which is a compliment and frankly, a 'must' when dealing with tight tolerances. I know you're not worried about FOC, especially with it already being in that 18-19% range...but if we're being honest, the front of such a well-built Valkyrie arrow is doing more of the driving/steering than the back of t he arrow...so I've found that 3 smaller vanes is plenty on a 500gr Valkyrie setup. The design of the longer, reinforced BH point also helps it hit bone...and continue on that same path, instead of glancing. I've hit bone on elk, deer, and hogs with the 200gr Jaggers...along with some rock, and have never had the tip bend or curl over. Lastly, don't sleep on their hybrid Mechanicals....I've never been a fan of the fragility of expandable BH's...but they partnered with Evolution to make the Jekyll & Hyde. Brent's created a 180+ gr hybrid that won't obliterate on impact. The ferrules are heavy duty and the expandable blade replacements are cheap and easy to replace. It decimates on Turkey and whitetail and gives you the flight characteristics most people love about mechanicals...without the early deployment or failure on thick bone. When in doubt, I shoot the 200gr...quiet, crazy kinetics, resistant to the winds here above treeline in CO, and best of all....no obvious failure point right behind the Broadhead. Yeah I allready have my set up for this year. Last year I wasn't able to test it on a elk but shot my deer with it and worked perfectly. Had a blood clot stop all blood flow through my heart and witch gave me a heart attack and now I am back at it agen. I run the victory RIP with the standard 60 grn inserts with 10 grn insert weight, 100 grn muzzy onebroadhead. Total weight is 463 grn with 15.2 foc and shooting 290 fps at 60# tons of room to be tinkering all the time.

Look into carbon express maximum triads. Jake especially if you like heavy the system that comes stock is unbreakable, but when i want to go lighter i use the Eaton ti 4mm half out system

The Valkyrie system has been around for much longer than the Snyder core system. Im pretty sure Aaron Snyder basically copied it and designed something very similar with iron will.

The only thing that sucks about the Valkyrie system broadhead is that it’s a needle point so it usually bends and can’t be honed back down to needle like precision on the tip.

Im a big fan of brent's stuff, I switched over a couple years ago, I have shot multiple deer and a bear with a Valkyrie set up, and have always gotten a pass through and have never had any breakage, even after burying into the ground/ tree behind the animal

I've had carbon break behind the insert/outsert. The 2 reasons it happened were: The broadhead didn't have the structural integrity or design of a Valkyrie. The arrow was a Victory Xtorsion carbon/steel hybrid. They r as tough as it gets. But the 125 grain half in/ half out is no substitute when u put it with a 125 grain head. Putting a one piece system around or over 200 grains is just phenomenal. I've also had a few 90-100 grain steel inserts break. But not one arrow, with a Valkyrie match grained point , outsert or head has broke or shown wear when hitting something hard. They just effortlessly go through an animal. The sharpening wheel process is as good as it gets. If anyone is taking a lower grade steel & taking it for granted that it is new & sharp they are doing themselves a great disservice.

Valkyrie broadheads are Brian Call and BMack from Hushin approved and glad to see they are now Dan and Jake approved to take into bear season and potentially into elk season. Nice Lusk Archery and Ranch Fairy name drop by the way. 520 grains is lower level Adult arrow range and would be perfect in the timber and sub 80 yards, most western hunting shots on elk are sub 60 anyway so long range rainbows are NOT an issue unless it hits a low hanging branch. If I had the extra coin I would love to try those devastating broadheads on a nice whitetail buck since I doubt that once again I won't be heading out west (for the 4th year in a row) and have to be responsible in my home life and get a new job and hopefully new home for my wife, stepson and I. Awesome opportunity for some subscribers with the TAC giveaways, eventually I will get to that level. Hoping to chase a turkey with my bow this spring so that will be a fun test.

Don't need to shoot past 25 yds for elk if you know how to hunt them! And close range is more fun. Actually, same for mule deer, but I'm not going to say how.

Awesome Idea for a Video mate, MFJJ always says you don't need a heavy arrow. Could you guys put this to the test. Get 3 guys who shot 3 different weights. Drew the meat man shoots 600grain, I think Dan is shooting 460grain and someone who shoots 280 to 360 grain. Go to spokane and shoot some 3D targets from different distances with each arrow but replace the core of the targets if possible with a little red dye filled balloon for vitals behind some ballistic gel either side. Assess pass throughs, trauma damage and damage to arrows. Perfect video for your channel as your passion is hunting and giving us as much info as possible. You might even get to prove MFJJ wrong or he will just laugh and say told you so. 😊

This has been tested over and over again. There’s a lot of videos out there about it. A lot of this just depends on how you hunt. If you sit in a tree stand and take 20 yard shots mostly then you may as well run as heavy of an arrow as you can since you don’t need to worry about shooting a really heavy arrow a long distance. When you hunt in the west the distances of shots can be drastically different. In the west you need to be ready for shots under 20 yards and then as far out as you can ethically shoot. You wouldn’t want a super heavy arrow for doing this for many reasons. And then you need to think about speed too which arrow weight is a huge part of. If you have a 31” draw and you pull 80lbs you can get away with shooting a much heavier arrow that will still be moving pretty fast based on the draw length and weight. If your draw is 27” and you’re pulling 60lbs you won’t be able to shoot a really heavy arrow with a lot of speed. There’s a lot more to this all but that’s a start.

Ok so not long ago you and MFJJ were smacking the Ranch Fairy for adult arrows, i see you may be on another path now. The valkyrie system is a heavy hitter and yes you will need new sight tapes but i can assure you real world results will speak volumes. Archery is so subjective but how can you argue with 19% f.o.c, super stable flight and world class penetration. Its what big game hunts are made of.

Sometimes my opinions and MFJJ’s are similar and sometimes they’re not. I’ve stroked a lot of bulls with arrows north of 500 grains arrows. Currently I’m around 427-433. I suggest folks do whatever gives them the most confidence 🤘🏼

Idk I get you guys like lots of penetration but for the price and how small of a cut I think it would be more practical to just stick with some of the other well known 3 blade heads on the market... with that long profile I think you're losing a little accuracy too

The name of the game is destruction. If u have a wound channel as big as your thumb the animal bleeds out within 50 yards & collapses. I've had one go 30 yards fast through the thistles which for a second made it look like it was snowing. Stopped running & walked 10 yards & laid down. When it laid down not one breath of air. Stone cold dead. Impact was in the ribs with the front leg back. Went in front of that leg & exited behind the other front leg. Arrow went 20 feet & buried into a log. Took 10 minutes to dig out the head. Still as good as new but the arrow was dripping blood. Rinse, sharpen & repeat. Made to last.
