As a regular to Majorca since 1959, I was hankering after visiting again post-pandemic - but your coverage of all the areas and sights I recall has spared me the hassle of travel - which has become just too tedious. So until here is a service that anesthetizes me at home, then wakes me up in the Hotel Son Net 8 hours later, this is an excellent alternative.
@@tvweekhighlights plus they place the biggest idiot on the plane in front of you who’ll put their seat back and a kid behind you to kick the back of yours the whole journey !
This in my opinion has to be one of the best videos you have made. I love the inland villages. I would definitely recommend taking the bus, less stress, but you w Will be lucky to get on one in high season. Fabulous video. Thanks for your hard work Alex.
Lovely way to start the day Diane reading your comment - I’m going to try and get out on some more excursions - I really enjoyed making that video (and no driving stress either !)
Absolutely love your guides to Mallorca, especially enjoy the practical guides for travelling around the island as I never have a hire car. Coming to this fabulous island soon !!
Thanks for a lovely video. We did a similar trip last year using public transport. So many beautiful places. Port de Soller was my absolute favourite ❤
We travelled to Soller and port de Soller from Can Picafort over the mountains and it was stunning❤️⛰️. We had planned on using buses on our holiday but I have chronic health issues and heavy rain was forecast so we did treat ourselves to a hire car but buses were very accessible if needed. We loved Soller and port de Soller they were beautiful places and the tram was so lovely to see. Port de Soller reminded us of Positano in Italy it was so pretty. We did want to visit Valledemossa and Deia but sadly ran out of time so they are on our list for our next visit. We loved Mallorca and would love to live there some day. I would go back tomorrow if I could. Thanks for the great vlog Alex it was such a treat and a joy to watch. ❤️
I visited Majorca for the first time last year, and went to Soller. Absolutely loved it, we took the train which was lovely but possibly wouldn't do it again as it was so sweaty! We had fresh orange juice, a wonderful meal where I got a taroncello spritz, got an ensaimada from a bakery and I got some beautiful lemon scented perfume 'eau de soller'.
Great video Alex. When I took the bus from Puerto Pollensa to Valldemossa last month, I saw more of Mallorca than I did when I used to hire a car. Much more relaxing and stress free. Great to see Deia, Soller and Port de Soller. I'll be over in June again and intend to use the bus to get about. Best wishes, John
Thanks for an informative and enjoyable tour! Public transport is clearly the way forward for the Island, so I hope the authorities act to limit car access and parking as so-called "personal convenience" impacts negatively on the atmosphere of the various towns, ports and villages. There's also the issue of tourist numbers which requires management. The Isles of Scilly in the UK limit tourists by linking visitors to the available accommodation. This seems to work! Thanks. 😎
Hi that was an excellent video and I really enjoyed it so much.. Mallorca looks so stunning. The villages old towns look so awesome. The tram and wooden train look so cool.
Hola Alex great video I love valdamossa beautiful place and I always try the local bakeries planning a trip for the end of September mallorca feels like my second home enjoy your day ❤
Hi ALex Looks cold Lovely vidio .Last week visited my family' on the island so beautiful and clean It was great . Looks so beautiful gosh bet you wished for a puffer jacket ❤ thanks for the tour
What a great one day itinerary, Alex, and all by bus. I see how you tapped your bus card like a credit card. I don’t think we have that here in the States yet. I have seen videos on La Residencia. What a great place to have a friend! I would love to stay a few nights. some day! Pure Paradise. I bet you are so happy you moved to Mallorca. And you get to share it all with us. Thanks so much. I’m putting off my first visit til 2025 but can’t wait. I guess you saw that Night Manager series filmed on Mallorca several years ago, some filmed in the Port de Soller and Deja area. Noah Jupe, the British boy now in the Franklin series, stopped in Port de Soller for ice cream as well!
Really good vlog Alex no complaints very quiet though didn't hear any building work or cranes today however did hear a drill whirring in the background just near Can Molinas as you went to look for a coffee withdrawal noise lol ttfn .
What a gorgeous place to go to the hairdresser! I have done this trip on the bus and it was brilliant! I will definitely do it again too! I absolutely love the mountain villages and Port De Soller. Interesting about the Christian flag! Its so similar to the England flag! Your ice cream choice looked lovely. I always go for an orange icecream there with a scoop of almond ice cream on the side, as recommended by one of the staff who was serving! They all look amazing, especially that raspberry one which you have! I will have to try that one day! Really such an enjoyable video! Thank you Alex! I feel like I was on that trip with you!
Good morning from Devon . I haven’t texted before , but here we are , and subscribed . Thank you for your very informative videos , which are interesting as we will be in Palmanova in four weeks time . We have been before and keep coming back , as an easy flight from our local airport and less than two hours to Palma . Take care ,
Very nice vlog Alex, beautifully filmed and so many places of interest, such stunning locations that you have captured, thank you for sharing, I have just subscribed and found you through The MC Master ❤️👍
Was there last week..Took the bus to Santa ponsa to visit the beach and also took the bus to Palma. No issues at all. Best way to get around the island. Want to visit Alculdia next time but their is no bus from magaluf, have to get it from Palma main station.
Going to calas de Mallorca first week in June and will be using the tib buses. Always clean buses with air conditioning and so easy to use with tap on and tap off. I find the drivers very patient on my first trip but got the hang of it on return😂
Would love to have afternoon tea at La Residentia. Looks gorgeous Alex! 🤩 Might ask Lisa for a blow dry while I'm there! 😉 Really enjoyed watching. Such a beautiful part of Mallorca.
I think the only way to fix Mallorca is for Europe to have a major recession -- way too many people visiting Mallorca now and it seems to need a major drop in numbers to improve the experience for everyone?
Hi Alex, Loved your video on these three lovely places in Mallorca. While using the public transportation is a great way to go about, driving your own car would have its own advantages. What would you say about driving to Valldemossa, Deia and Soller from Palma? Thank you in advance for your input!
Lovely tour; thank you. Was the card you used on the bus good for the whole day? Is Lyft/Uber available? And what about public toilets (availability, cost, do I bring my own paper)?
Haha - they had paper when I went ! Just use your bank card to tap on and off the bus . I have a residents bus card which isn’t available to visitors. Check the text for links
Great Video Alexa! Going to port de soller soon, is it possible to bring luggage on the public busses? (From palma) Were concidering taking a taxi, but maybe public transport could work even tho we bring travel luggage?
We are coming to a hotel near Deia in early October. Do the buses still run regularly then? We were actually scheduled to be there now but due to a death in the family we rescheduled.
Is it a long walk from the bus stop at Puert de Sóller down to the harbour/beach area!... I remember when I went there on the tram from Sóller, there were some serious slopes going down into Port de Sóller so wondering if it was a trek from that last stop down to the front.
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Okay great... I didn't even know there was a bus route going that way, I just assumed it was the train and tram so I've learnt something there and handy to know for the next time I fly over 👍
The best way to get from Palmanova to S'Arenal without a car is to line 104 bus and bus which takes 1h 5m and costs €3 - €7. How long does it take to get from Palmanova to S'Arenal? It takes approximately 1h 5m to get from Palmanova to S'Arenal, including transfers.
That was an amazing video Alex. What a blinding idea to video the bus trip around the villages. Absolutely loved watching this. Great to see the support for Lisa to. ( I did wonder how you would have coped with the windy road in the bus🫣)
Hi Alex, great video. I will be visiting Mallorca soon and would like to do a trip like this. On the bus I assume I would need to tap my card on and off each time to pay, is this correct?
We were in Porto Polensa last week. We hadn't been there for about seven years. Weather was ok. A thunderstorm on Monday night and a few showers on Sun. We walked to Pollensa had lunch, climbed the steps😀 and got the bus back. It was packed, not a pleasant experience Im afraid. We caught the bus to Inca market and it was packed too. And the market was mobbed too. Then the tourist info sent us to the wrong place to get the bus back. We eventually found it ourselves. Again a packed bus. Our last day was Alcudia market. The bus driver had to turn families with buggies away because there were so many on the bus. The market was ok. Just so busy. And on the way back people had to stand. We've loved Mallorca for years, its our favourite island but its far too busy now with tourists and bikes , thousands of them especially up north of the island. Im afraid we wouldn't come back. I can understand how the locals feel. After all there's only one million of them. ☹️👍
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun We should have, Alex. After all markets are all the same. We usually go to Soller on the orange train but last time it was busy, so we didn't. We want the island all to ourselves. 😀👍
Whats the best way to see Soller from Acludia? I go to Palma also for 2 days, but dont want to spend one going back up to Soller, so rather try see it when in Alcudia for 10days
Is it possible to get to the three places, from Calas de Mallorca on a bus with ease. With it being opposite sides of the island, I’m guessing it’s easier to go via palma.
We drive for work so are looking forward to using the public busses to explore the island. Is there a multi ticket you can buy to use over several days or is it best just to use a bank card to click on and off the bus?
Oh ok I am new to your channel heard you on Mike Graham's radio show... Will check them out. We love Old Pollensa town too and Alcudia. We were there last week and stayed for one night in a lovely boutique hotel in Estellencs first time in that area very Lovely as was Andratx... Thanks for informative videos
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Mike has a big following .. He's a great broadcaster... We love Mallorca and go every year - mostly to the Northern part... We have friends who live in Santa Magalida. Look forward to more from your channel
Your you tube Channel is the best for Mallorca but today we had an awful experience with the parking in Valdemossa because they gave us a ticket us and at least 20 cars more. The sign was blackened and hidden and was just one to prevent you to not park there. The person who gave us the ticket as we met him later was very impolite. Even worst in Soller we had parked inside a garage, we paid the fee for 2 hours and because we had taken the receipt with us the ATIB fine us again. There was no one inside the garage that it was dirty and partially demolished. So sorry but with this kind of infrastructure and aggressive touristic policy you will never attract tourists like us from London. It's ok for cyclists from Germany and heavy drinkers but for quality tourists thank you but no I'm preferring to stay in my exceptional hotel next to a fantastic beach. As you can understand I have canceled all our restaurants reservations and I will never travel to Mallorca again.
i enjoy your videos , you seem a lovey lady , mac master seems the opposite chasing causes that dont have meaning ,he mentioned he was thinking to aussie we do not need whiners , you discuss items in a civilised way , lee has fish and chips then bolts ,i know he has followers but are they like sheep which is sad
I only dislike cyclists when they don’t stop at red lights, or at roundabouts or when trying to get from A to B and don’t allow traffic to pass at all. Or when they go on the pavements . I have seen much dangerous behaviour. Respect goes both ways
@@herefordiancammer read above ⬆️ how can anyone think breaking basic road rules at traffic lights on a four way junction is ok / are you in favour of this ?
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun No course it aint....but drivers are worse! And far more likely to kill or injure. Most drivers like to single out cyclists but in reality they are just as peed off with other drivers. I suppose we will just have to put up with the mentality of it all
looks lovely 🙂 there used to be a direct bus from cala bona to puerto pollensa, it was a great ride out, took about 2 hours! but sadly it no longer runs...... if i stay in puerto pollensa, i get the bus to pollesa town, and cala san vicente. and when i stay in cala bona, i get the bus to sillot, or even upto cala ratjada, its a pretty good service 🙂
