watch and learn.no tar no mess ,too all you hacks out there my name is ELVIS BENOIT and every day i am changing the way roofing repairs are done so you at home dont get robbed any more ....inform your self...
So my 100+ year old Victorian house has three major leaks that is doing serious water damage inside. I don't have a clue how to fix it, which is why I am watching all these videos. My roof has four layers of shingles and trying to determine where the leak is coming from is impossible. So I am just caulking the crap out of it, looking for any signs of wear (which is basically everywhere) and trying to reason where water could be getting through. Yesterday I was on the roof for hours caulking along the valleys that I could safely reach using BlackJack tar. I can't afford to hire a roofer to properly repair the roof, so I am trying to patch everything that I can. A truly frustrating and helpless feeling. Any advice for a poor pauper with no roofing knowledge/experience?
