im convinced every single person freaking out about being able to fall off the map have never played CS once. I’m glad riot are not limiting their map design cause there’s so much more creativity they could add into future maps

some (potential) lore i found!! when watching the abyss cinematic, the coordinates for the map read 70°50'AJ"N 9°00'XV"W during the title screen. i did some experimenting and converted 'AJ' using a typical alphanumerical series (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc.) to 1 and 10, making 11.0 when put together. i then used roman numerals to convert XV (since the alphanumerical series didn't work digits wise) to 15.0. with the coordinates now reading 70°50'11.0"N 9°00'15.0"W, i put it into google maps and it directed me to an island north of Iceland called Jan Mayen now rewatching the grand finals showmatch of abyss, around the end of round 16, Albert Robles, the Map Producer, mentioned that the map was regionally based off of "a really remote island just north of Iceland", which completely matches Jan Mayen's description!!! thought it was an interesting piece of lore that you could add to content about this map!! (dk if my logic with the numbers is completely correct but i thought it was interesting :D) (thought i'd recomment here too cuz of the relevance) edit: actually, now that i think about it, if you use the alphanumerical series with XV and instead add the numbers together as opposed to just putting them together (so XV being 24 + 26, and therefore 50.0, and AJ still remaining as 11.0), the coords still direct you to Jan Mayen :-))

This map is Omen's playground. Can't wait!

just wondering what all hell of a pro match it would be with all those jumps and all that stuff , so very excited for the crazy plays in the map And is it just me or is the map bigger than our current maps?

I think the reason they put omen and clove in the trailer is this map is going to need two controllers. Specifically two Orb smoke controllers which is why they slightly buffed brim stone

Ngl the mini map resembles the ascent layout quite a lot , as if its just a mixture of a bigger and opened up ascent and pearl with a hella lot of drops and a few tweaks here n there

This map looks so fun to play. and i really love the design, not too many long ranged duels, but at the same time not too closed ranged. And those skill jumps are really gonna make some funny moments. Really excited and can't wait to see how this map will be played out!

In the future videos can you check out the frozen chamber kanga? In the show match i think i saw a glimpse of someone walking back and forth in there, could be part of a map details video! Love the videos as always!

For some reason, the aerial-view layout of Abyss reminds me a lot of Dust II's layout

Yoru could potentially get over there as well. If you eventually learn a tp lineup to get to that point, you can tp there

I wonder if this is gonna be a viper/harbor map, as a lot of the chokes are really large/nonstandard, and idk if astra/omen/brim will be good at actually smoking on executes

really reminds me of vertigo from cs with the jump off feature

The verticality is going to massively favor Harbor since his walls can cover both ground and raised angles

Imagine you are diffing peacefully on both sites knowing your teammates got ur six, and the next moment breach's ult throws u off the map

This might become my favorite map when it comes out

After copying the concept of Vertigo (CS2 map), the last map concept they need to copy is that of CS2 map Nuke, with stacked bombsites on top of each other.

Do you think jumping off the map will be detectable by the system as intentional throwing?

i have a couple of things i want to try out when the map comes out like if you are on b and you trhow the spike of map thas i come back in spawn because that i huge can a raze not just sachel there teamates of the map to troll what happens ifyou jump down with the spike same as dropping spike or something diffrent

The square opening in the middle of a site. There are rooms on the way down. Are they aesthetic or can you actually land in one of them?

Other than the colour tone which feels so much like Pearl, which can appear alittle dull at times considering how vibrant a game Valorant can be, it looks to be an interesting map I dont know why it feels less tactical shooter'ish now with all the jump spots and drops. Wouldnt know if its a good change or detaching too much from the core game play. But in the end with all the agents and (their potential use of) abilities i guess thats the direction Riot has decided to take !
