As a low elo trying to climb up, all i feel is pain playing with toxic "smurfs" who wont even comm with me

As I finally escaped to the Plat rank, I can say that the games are SIGNIFICANTLY easier to play. You just sometimes get 1 or 2 bad teammates on occasion

i rather have a booster than a smurf. the type of boosters i meant are they are being paid to raise their ranks to whatever rank they desire. they usually playing seriously in low elo because money is on the line. it's like their side hustle

I've played against a LOTTT of smurf and most of them are in my rank up games. I got used to it that I didn't care anymore and when a smurf played with me he lost network and went afk

When I first started playing (I got placed in s2) and in my first actual ranked game, I went against a smurf that was accutally immortal but with 3 smurfs that were immortal (obv we won but I did not do anything)

As someone who has smurfed on another game Overwatch there’s actually a surprising amount of smurfs in masters who come from gm to practice new hero’s then get fed up

the bottom fragger being the most toxic is so real. This omen had a Reyna on his team named “sheriff only” who was clearly smurfing. He switched to a vandal after our raze aced and their omen was just trash talking the whole game. We came back too and won.

I played against people who were smurfing in Plat before when my actual Plat friends took me to Plat while being my first times playing comp in Valorant. I learnt so much in those early games that I once accidentally became a smurfer by never ranking up from Iron 3, but have better skills than any other Irons. Basically what happened was I got 3 aces back-to-back in a single Iron comp match. Playing against such high ranking enemies will make you good fast, but damn it makes you toxic, either to others or to yourself.

I was hard stuck iron for so long, the very first game after I made it to bronze two enemies admitted to being plat and ascendant smurfs thta were carrying someone

once in bronze i got an Asc smurf that forced us to lose the first half 0-12 so he could farm views for coming back and then halfway through he ego peeked immediately and died and we lost the game. It's so annoying being actually good at the game but every other game is someone farming you for content when you know you could do well in gold or silver.

it's sad that i've seen so many platinums in silver, and i've even seen someone who peaks immortal that has a silver rank, it just shows that getting out of silver is incredibly difficult because there's such a skill gap between people.

I just stopped playing comp because there were so many Smurfs, you would do anything and instantly get head tapped before you could even see them.

Yea my immortal 1 friend is very toxic when he Smurf’s in gold, he bottomfrags on purpose and then absolutely demolishes the opponent team when they say hes bad

I remember catching a smurf who was just mid fragging because we was winning. Him and the bottom frag were not speaking. I get him to do some callouts then get him talking some more, watch him in a few 1vX situations and made no mistakes. Called him out and he just says "how??" While laughing, him admitting to queueing with bottom frag made me sure lol. He thought I was smurfing too because I was top fragging but it's just because I'm insanely inconsistent 😔 I feel bad when I go on a run and end up in high rank lobbies and ruing their games because I can't hit a shot

As a silver myself trying to go up I must say, its really frustrating playing almost daily against other "silvers" or "golds" with 30+ kills, the whole team being carried and being toxic af in the chats. A terrible experience

I am gold and every so often there is a smurf that actually tries but I find more smurfs that throw the game then actually winning.

I hate these smurfs On my team and on the opposing team When they're on my team, they often start trolling because "we're bad because we're gold/plat players" and on the opposing team they start trying like crazy to boost their friends. After that, the bottomfrag teammate of the smurf often starts to make himself big and strong in the all chat and insult others

I swear silver is like a rank gathering. Here you got bronze, silver, and gold players like usual, then you got plat, dia, asc, immo, and rarely seen radiant players. They're either boosted players or just 5 stacking.

gold is just constantly running into random duelists that get 30+ kills a game in less than 15 rounds. crazy how often you run into smurfs in gold

Nah I played comp once and people thought I was smurfing because I am level 21 and was top fragging hard in some of my placements by a lot. It just gets annoying having to explain that I have thousand of hours on csgo every time I play lol

I have smurfed in all elos and I don’t really understand why people would have been scared in plat or diamond to Smurf. Tbh I could almost always mvp also in those elos but there isn’t even anything to lose if you Smurf. You lose one game go back at it and go get mvp bonus

I always smurf online games, sometimes you find the best people in low ranks seriously I emember in pubg how long it would take to queue up and in apex aswell once your in the higher ranks but this one time when i queued up in the lower ranks i found the mlst chillest person ever and we still play other games to this day I would've never this person if I havent smurfed!

Finally as a hardstuck silver last 6month and oh boy once I moved up the rank it was much relaxing not worrying about Smurfs

Most smurfs I meet in bronze to iron I can "compete" with when I'm on the zone which is why I know that they are around gold to plat. Unfortunately, it always comes down to who has the better teammates. Also in one of my experiences, my team's phx I thought to be a Gold to Silver Smurf because his crosshair placement is something Irons to bronze can't replicate however it was still a close game with me just below his score. That 1% of Smurf I meet though, just means gg wp.

Valorant tracker can help you to find out if the opponent is a smurf or not by looking at their headshot percentage. Its not easy for new players to hit headshots that easy.

My friend who's is ascendant told me it's harder to get out of silver or gold than plat or diamond also

I recently got back into valorant after 2 years of watching overwatch get worse and worse. I found a love in the game again and have really enjoyed a game where balance seems to be attempted (partly. Obviously I'm comparing riot to the lowest bar possible) My one gripe though is climbing in competitive sucks just because in that silver/gold rank it feels like every third game is a Smurf. (Obviously in the long run they don't effect you so much where you can't climb and playing against people who are way better than you will make you good but it's still not fun to get stomped by a hidden name Jett with default player card going 34 and 5

It's an odd bunch for sure. There's the typical "I smurf your rank, I don't care." There's also the ones that get mald low rank players don't comm and start throwing (if I knew the comms I'd be using them lmao). And I've even played with a few people who are on their main but are so mad they went down from Dimond that they start throwing every single game, grabbing Spike and sitting afk in spawn. Tho I'll admit, sometimes I've gotten lucky and they try really hard. Whether it's because there's another smurf or they're playing with someone.

i mean smurfing is ok! im gold 3 found smurfs all the fucking time but not a single time were they banned, even when i report it. so i guess its FINE to ruin others people experiences in-game. Riot doesnt seem to care. similar thing happens with accounts of under level 20 in unranted, they are CRACKED but they are just leveling up their smurf.

Well, I had a immortal Smurf in my gold games and I was playing smoke on defense start. I won the first 10 round in a row without seeing any of the enemies, I literally was behind walls giving some smokes and the round ended. And what do you know, that Smurf was playing for his brother because his brother was called by his mom, and the little brother came back. We ended up wining as 14-12 because his brother had to take over for overtime, wanna know how we went from 10-0 to 12-12? The Smurf basically fked up my warm up which you might understand that I didn’t even shoot a single bullet for 10 rounds and the little brother came back with the same situation I’m on.

I as an Immo player can partly agree but i have to mention that there are probably more people like me that only smurf in 5 stacks with friends (not for boosting, to have fun); or there trying like a challenge, like only pistol to ascendant or so

Im not really smurfing, but I do challenge accounts like yoru only, sherrif only etc. For me low dia is the absolute hell, not because of smurfs but this elo is just the worst to play in generally

I have an idea Valorant ranking system punishes you for playing well. For example if you’re ascendant 2 for example and get a KD of 30-5 it will jump elo and match you with elo of immortal 3’s even if their rank shows plat (smurfs) they will be of immortal + elo. Best thing you can do at the moment is try not get a + KD and win the game if you can. Unfortunately you get severely punished with matching either cheaters or super smurfs from super high elos. This can be achieved by dropping less kills and getting 0-10 or 0-15 at the start for example. Then gradually playing well to your best all the while trying to maintain an even KD and not a positive one in important rounds or defence. If you don’t do this and keep blasting 30+ kills you will eventually be matched with smurfs. Cause the opposing team will report you and you could end up being matched with cheaters too! Unfortunately this is the only work around cause the system is extremely unfair with the behind the scenes calculations (elo) compared to your actual physical rank that you see. You maybe matching a gold in diamond but that (gold / silver in previous act badge) is not that elo it is much higher. Conclusion. Drop kills and try win in a minus KD or even KD ratio. Do not! Try and get positive KD or match MVP. I have noticed that when you get match MVP the very next game your team mates will be amazing (like super smurfs) for one game then thats it its a downswing after that with matching vs smurfs and cheaters alike. Similarly if you keep losing you will eventually match super low elo in comparison (the now gold 3 will feel like iron 1 and the platinum that played like a immortal 3 a few games ago will now feel like a bronze as these are now true golds and true plats). Hope this helps. Also this coincides with the fact that at mid to higher levels such as Gold, plat and diamond there are gonna be loads of boosters. So if you go into them hitting 30 bombs you will be placed much higher elo wise then you will go on a losing streak. Its basically a mess and this is an idea to overcome it for the time being because playing well can land you in serious trouble elo wise compared to your physical rank and land you multiple losses in a row through smurfing and elo calibration which coincides with the smurfing problem giving us the mess that we have above. By going even kd or slightly minus kd you make the booster do more of the work (on your team) thus frustrating them cause they want YOU to do it to get your elo up they will happily bottom frag and put away their ego as theyre boosting someone. I can’t stress it enough that the physical rank and elo behind the scenes are two separate things and you can never see your true rank especially with the current circumstances of smurfs and cheaters.

I played a game against a 36 kill jett with an entire team that was toxic and for me I think the fact that the jett had cracked aim and that he literally got a bucky ace was enough to show it was a smurf
