This was such a pretty drive. The Christmas lights were beautiful. It looks like dusk which is one of the prettiest times of the day. I just love these little drives you do. It's hard to see your hometown go downhill. I've seen the same with Chicago. It was the greatest place to grow up in during the 50's, 60's and 70's but now I'm afraid to go downtown. I hate that everything changed that way. There's always hope though. As long as there are people like you who are willing to go out there and persistently show the way it has become, along with sharing your memories of how it once was, somebody somewhere will listen and bring change that will get things cleaned up. You are an influencer, and a leader in case you didn't realize it. The world needs more people like you that promote incentive to officials to do the right thing and create a better city. Happy New Year Paul. May you and your family be blessed and thrive all throughout the year!
I love reading your comments. They are always so nice and put a smile on my face. Thank you so much Flo. Happy New Year’s to you and I hope you’re move is going well. I enjoy keeping up with what you’re doing on Instagram when I get a breather between working and making videos and every day life 😆 once again I’m very blessed to have met you and I always look forward to reading your comments, so please feel free to comment on everything and let me know you are enjoying the content. I am trying to be original and getting up to these places close and do these filming locations really gives me a different outlook on reality for other people and makes me realize how lucky that I am to have the kind of life that I do. Not to mention surrounded by good people like yourself always helps. ❤️🌸😉‼️⛈️
I lived on Broadway as a kid over a laundromat at 49th and Broadway. We lived there for about 4 years. When I was born we lived on Connecticut street. We moved to Miller for awhile then back to Gary. I went to Pittman Square elementary. We moved in 1976 to Winamac when my mom got remarried. I was born in Gary at Methodist Hospital. It's my hometown. I live in Texas now. I miss my state. It's where my story started. It is a shame how Gary is now. Both my parents grew up there, went to school there. It's my beginnings for my family.
Someday, someone will run across this video or any of your videos and really appreciate seeing how things used to be. I'm a transplant from Illinois and it's been fun watching your videos and learning about the region. Thank you
What a wonderful comment. Thank you so much Michelle you just made my day.! I love your vibe, and I hope to hear more from you on other videos. Thank you so much once again, your words really have put a smile on my face. 🌸❤️⛈️💯‼️
Another Great Video. I'm going to be 75 years old (I hope) this year. Pre-school I lived on South Tyler Street in Gary. Grade School in Hobart on South Delaware Street and Jr High and High School in Miller up the hill from Nobel School. I finished school with a GED from Lew Wallace. Went to work on the RR out of Kirk Yard for over 30 yrs. Retired in 2000. Your Videos touch on so much of my life. Thank you!
That really means so much to me Lead Slinger you are the same age as my mom and you probably know a lot of my family. My dad was Eddie King, and my mom‘s name was Claudia DeSoto. I have relatives all over that area that are your age so I’m sure that you do know some of my family the kings, Eddie, Benny, Dave, Paul, Donnie, Barbara Ann, Linda King. I enjoy reading your comments. I hope to hear more from you and keep on enjoying the videos. Once again, thank you for letting me know. You enjoyed the ride. 🫵😎⛈️‼️💯

They took that bridge down about 15 years ago I know exactly which one you were talking about. It used to freak us out driving over that old raggedy bridge lol.
