Exactly. Now, when you're making single player games and software, not a bad mindset. When you're hosting multiple online games and infrustructure, it doesn't work
@@excessiveclownery4375 every game has cheaters. not every game has complacent devs which is why tf2 in particular is more botted then say apex legends or basically any other AAA first person shooter. its valves fault for not doing what every other dev is expected to do. combat cheaters.
When i met my current wife, the moment i truley fell in love with her is when she tried Tf2 for the first time and put a solid 3 hours into a jump map trying to learn rocket jumping. Watching that magic moment where it all finally clicked for her and the muscle memory took over just like it did for me so many years ago. I can not understate how much this meant to me and still means to this day. All I want is for my future kids to also expirence that magic. Lets keep this ball rolling people!! Not just for ourselves but for our children and our childrens children. If we keep any game from our past alive please let it be Team Fortress 2!!
I commend you for taking the initiative. Let's hold valve accountable for their neglect, and show how unresponsible they have gotten with TF2, as well as other games like CS and Artifact.
Why do I see nobody talking about the fact that the bot networks in TF2 and CS2 are just farming the drops to sell, and making hundreds of thousands of dollars? They are doing this because it makes them money to destroy the game.
The summer with saxton hale, the seal, and the halloween with the zombie invasion mode was some of the most fun I had fun for years. For a bit the servers were fine during that time.
@@ColeTheFactGuyThe worst part? Player numbers didn't go up. According to Nobody's Home, that update barely spiked played numbers at all. It was all bots. Not all of them cheaters, but bots nonetheless.
@@StuckInTheDigitalRealm no they did go up, the amount of item farming bots has always stayed consistent. it's just because player numbers fell the ratio rose from like 50% to 70% but honestly afk bots only hurt the traders, still an issue but not a priority compared to the 2% of casual targetting aimbotters.
@@StuckInTheDigitalRealm Updates and Scream Fortress don't just bring players back to the game but also draw community server regulars back to casual, albeit temporarily. That part of Zesty's video only compared the number of people in the game, but did not account for how many people shifted from community to casual when the updates dropped and the events were happening. So the increase in human players in casual did happen.
I believe Valve will do something. They have been caring about this game a little bit more every update or so. The V-script, different background for the summer Holliday sized update. And then the different boss background for the recent smissmass update. Then, the 64-bit update. Even if they didn't do it, it still proves that they sort of care, even if it's really small. This doesn't excuse their neglect. But hopefully, they will do something. At least better than last time. Till then #FixTF2 #SaveTF2.
Don't forget the main thing of this protest guys - *DO NOT FU**IN STOP WITH THE MOVEMENT.* It's not like we hit 100k signatures, posted some bots related vids on June 3rd(today btw) and gone with hopes for Valve to do something. We must continue the movement *even AFTER* the June 3rd, that date is basically a starting point of us to rush Twitter, Reddit, RU-vid and other social media with TF2's bot problem and what Valve is a careless company that doesn't care. I didn't have any hopes for second #SaveTF2 movement made by ShorK, since it was too weak and *too* friendly. But this, this one i have hopes for. It has proofs, it has the idea, the rage within every player who actually wants to make this game playable again. _And i really, _*_REALLY_*_ hate those, who cries that TF2 might get deleted after this._ *SO WHAT?* Today you could not see tomorrow anymore because of an accident, but do you think about it all the time to be bothered? *NO,* so get your shit together and protest for the game and against Valve. This is a protest i have some hope for and so should you!
If TF2 gets deleted we'll still have some obscure download and private servers and maybe even a community anti cheat that works better, we have *nothing* to lose
@@Hack--rz1io That's right dude, but I'll tell you more. Valve won't do such a thing as deleting their own game. First of all, deleting it will get whole TF2(and not only TF2 one) Community go enraged cos all their items they spent time and real money on, was gone. Where we could potentially sue them for that, legally. Secondly, TF2 is a profitable game, it might not earn as much money as Dota or CS:GO, but Valve gets money from it. So basically, what's easier and smarter to do? Update their shitass VAC-Ban system for all these games including ours so everyone will be happy and Valve will be more profitable than before OR delete the issue by deleting the game itself, leading to massive dissatisfaction on every social media in existence. And Valve will surely notice that, since they're Popularity-hungry and if ratings go below hell, Valve will broke(maybe not financially, but in the face of games that's for sure). Our Community can do nothing to deal with Bot Invasion ourselves, since we doesn't have the right to deal with it. But we can do some pressure on those who MUST do their job. And with this protest, we shall see)))
Thanks for this video. It’s time to make people aware of how Valve really treats their customers. Boycott them, and encourage others to do the same until these cheater bots are GONE. #FixTF2
Thank you for this video, very well made. Valve needs to be held accountable for what they’ve been doing. People need to know that according to Valve, these games (TF2,CS2,L4D2,etc) despite being unplayable, are considered acceptable to valve. It’s sickening that they have the audacity to monetize these games. I’m not just pissed that they’re neglecting Team Fortress 2 (even though that’s a big part), but that they are getting away with this abhorrent behavior. Disgraceful, old valve is dead #fixtf2 #fixcs2
I adore TF2. The only reason this channel isn't a TF2 channel is because I don't want to railroad my content and prefer to have variety in topics. But this game is truly, truly incredible and doesn't deserve this neglect
@@ColeTheFactGuy oh yhea the problem of the TF2 buble or bubles in general. It is sad how they appear. I personally now some of great creators which did some great stuff but they couldn't continou doing it as they got burn out, something they loved became a burden to them. And when they tried to switch content, they got abandoned by most of theor fans. It is great that you know this and tries to be more open to wider selection of content. And btw thanks to FixTF2 i managed to find you. You make great content, keep it up.
Here's my thing that you said that really always russles my jimmies. Valve can *keep* their system of working where you want because there ARE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO WORK ON TF2. There are hundreds of patchers, designers graphic artists developers that make good authentic content for the game on github and steam alone. Even on RU-vid we have folks like MegaScatterBomb who have MADE AN IMPROVED VALVE ANTI CHEAT, or ZestyJesus who has been up the butts of everyone for ages on authentic designs, GreatBlue who has designed weapons dor years, and SquimJim who has practically sucked all of the bone marrow out of the intricacies of the game, and thats just to name a few.
Now I am not saying tf2 does not have a bot problem but maybe it is just me but when I join a game most of the time the bots get voted off faster than my grandma falls down the stairs.
I'm honestly really glad I found the community before I could play the game, because if I had played the game first, I don't know if I would've stayed. I've only been playing for like, a little under 24 hours, but I've already had some great experiences, and have been having so much fun playing Medic. Despite all the chaos, it's worth it for knowing that you're helping your team win. I've tried community servers, but I worry that my internet isn't good enough to stay in some of them, and even with consistently leaving and rejoining casual servers, it's often easier than community servers.
The sad part is we are asking for the bare minimum effort from valve. Of just keeping the anti-cheat updated that it can detect cheats and for them to routinely do bot banwaves.
Great video! Never seen you before but I hope Valve does fix the issue at hand. Worst case scenario, we all just make multiple community servers with special updates that the community can change at a whim. But, I do enjoy the conga lines in casuals...
Something I've personally said is that even if you don't like TF2, or Valve, I think it's important to band together on this. A crisis of bots this large is the kind of problem I think anyone would want fixed for their game. Think of your favourite game, in the whole world. Imagine if anytime you went to play the intended, regular mode for that game, there was a 99% chance multiple fake people were actively ruining it for you, and your ability to get rid of them was next to nothing. You would want other people to help, too. Even if they're not also fans of your game. That just makes sense. You would ask for help. So when other people are asking for help with one of THEIR favourite games, and all you have to do is sign a petition or make a tweet, I don't blame someone for not doing so, but I think they would understand the appreciation directed towards them for doing it anyways. Fix TF2.
Man I feel you so much. This video is great at describing at what has to be done, why and what we are loosing as of now, if nothing will be done. You did a great job at showing that TF2 is very special! Thank you and lets hope and work so that valve will #FixTF2
TF2 to me is the Father of Hero Shooters, and is the staple of what a FPS shooter should have been before the botpocalyspe, I have made tons of memories in this game, playing it whenever i was at my local library when i could not afford a computer. It saddens me to see the game in it's current state, I wish Valve just starts taking care of its masterpieces again, or at Least hire teams to do it for them. I'm sure the people behind TF2S2 and TF2C would absolutely jump on the chance to work on the TF2 Proper and put some real love into the game.
If we want something to be done, we can't shut up about the bot issue. If we don't stand our ground, then we can be certain that nothing is gonna change. "Last one alive, lock the door!" I say. #FixTF2
Speaking on behalf of the F2Ps, Valve has completely silenced us in gameplay, and we CANNOT EVEN call for medics, which is very important in a team based game. The bot crisis is surely to blame for this. I could buy something to get the ability to talk in casual, but I am boycotting not only because casual is mostly just bots, but Valve is so negligent I CANNOT let them get money out of my wallet. #FixTF2
i yearn for the days where im not randomly killed by a bot that gets kicked immediately even if i find a server without bots in it somehow they ruin my day
I think the current best thing to do is leave a negative review: It worked well enough for the Helldivers players and it's exactly visible where it should be, Steam and it will be there pretty much forever. After that, just play on casual servers until you find one you like (like the old days) and stop buying things from the store. The other thing is to drop the game altogether but some people just won't do that, so point one is the best route currently. Will it do something? Probably not but it's a permanent stamp until something changes.
12:07 As a young 18 year old, I apologize for my generation’s weird slangs (and I hate it) Joking aside, I’m just a player that wants to play the game like everyone else. I’m not even wanting the Heavy Update anymore, I just want to… Play. The. Damn. Game. As. Promised. #SaveTF2 #FixTF2
To be fair I'm only just a year or 2 out of the age range of the current slang. But you're right. Even as someone who mains heavy and really wanted that update, all I want to do at this point is just play the game normally
It really isn't something you see. There's so many games now that promise "over a decade of support" but get abandoned after less than a year. TF2 is very special
Rework sniper so he isnt hitscan and is heavily nerfed. Make TF2 paid 5-10$ will be enough, spend some time on a massive banwave or two with hired contractors if Volvo doesnt want to do it themselves.
They (alongside the legendary contractors who've been squashing bugs for valve) are the most qualified people to work on this game However, don't forget the shitshow that end of the line was. If you want to work on TF2, apply for Valve and gain enough standing that you get to pick your projects, or have a reputable dev portfolio that you can be contracted. Otherwise forget it, and I don't blame Valve for keeping that stance. Imagine the damage that could be done if a mentally ill weirdo got to push a malicious update to the entire playerbase.
You are totally right. Not just end of the line but Invasion as well. I wouldn't mind if the game was given to the community, however I also don't think that the community could handle it
@@ColeTheFactGuy what I'm saying is that those teams have shown they want TF2 and shown they know how to work with Source. Id say let them two teams try, but keep an eye on them.
@@vaan_ This is true. Though I only started playing in 2016. As for me, my only qualifications are making a model or two for SFM and making and editing VTF and VTM files. I not much else. However I would put my faith in the teams of those two fan makes of TF2.
At this point, I’m not even counting on valve to do anything. I’m more counting on Megascatterbomb’s anti cheat thing. But it shouldn’t be the fans responsibility to fix the game, It’s valve’s. And it’s only going to get worse in other games. I implore you all to not spend any money in these games until valve does something.
Reminder that Valve’s neglect enables the bot hosters to do illegal shit and target people in the community who speak up about the issue. On their own game. #FixTF2 #SaveTF2
The worst part is that they arent even real players, its just a dude with 500 automated laptops, so we cant even do the ultimate spy move and tell them about what we did with their mother last night, we have to #FixTF2
I don't think people understand that an online game having 10k players consistently is still a big deal. A lot of online games don't have that even now, and they still are run and upkept. Not to mention this game is 17 years old and still keeping that number
I know this might not strictly be a solution to the problem, but as always I can highly, highly recommend the *TF2 Classic* source mod as an alternative to main TF2. It's passionately maintained by the community, has loads of new content including completely new weapons, has a decent player base, doesn't have a bot problem, and IMO looks even better than the base game (in addition to running a lot better). I can't link here or RU-vid might randomly remove my comment, but it's super easy to find on Google. I would love Valve to take stock TF2 seriously again, but I have major reservations about whether they'd put time and effort into maintaining a 17 year old game. At this stage in the life cycle, it's really the community who has the passion and the reason to put in the commitment, so I think one of the best things we can do is support community-led initiatives and let more people know about them.
I've been trying out TF2 classic lately and it's a good time! Reminds me of playing the game back on Xbox 360 over a decade ago (I also purposefully use default view model FOV in classic to keep that feeling even more). But I also really enjoy all the cosmetics and especially weapons in Nirmal tf2, so while it is fun (and I personally look forward to playing it more) it's not the same. A lot of fun for sure, but I'd still prefer normal TF2 work
Valve needs to grow up, they can't keep acting like a hip little indie studio that just turned gaming around with Half Life For one of the biggest and most profitable gaming companies to keep acting like this is unprofessional and frankly it's embarrassing to see
Appreciated! But I should very much clarify I'm not a TF2ber. I've made 2 TF2 videos, and I really love the game, but they aren't a common thing I make, nor do I plan for them to be. I appreciate the sub but I don't want you to constantly see my videos in your sub feed if they're not what you subbed to see.
