The Vampire part actually can get to the Gold Pride part. With Ghost you send Retainer instead of Familiar, use Retainer to search Desire, Desire target retainer and send a second Ghost to GY to make it Level 3. Thats a Chariot Carrie that also keeps Retainer in rotation since it will not be banished, and you still have a Ghost in GY to Tribute Shadow. Of course, in this hypoterical scenario you still need the rest of you hand to get to Beatrice, and is true that Gold Pride doesn't get you to your Vampires, outside of the Level 8 being half of The Zombie Vampire. On another note, since you are playing Zombies anyway, you could play the Link 3 Yuki-Onna for when you draw Saga. You don't actually need to Tribute Sucker in a lot of situation, either because you have more material or because you can use her ti Summon a handtraps the opponent used on you and make it a Zombie, which mean you can use it as Tribute fodder thanks to Sucker's secret effect. That mean you use Scourge to reborn Grace and use Grace effect later and, most importanly, use Sucker for Link climbing on, for example, the Link 3 Yuki-Onna
God, seeing this all written out reminds me of why I love Vampires. Such an incredibly flexible archetype, yet doesn't feel like an extra deck spam deck
@@Druid-T Reminds me back when orcust engine was the shit, I played vampire orcust that can activate gumblar's trigger effect once during each player's turn
Vampire being my main favourite deck and had made many different versions (Lots of copium synergies and meme Vamp decks), I kinda got pleasantly jumpscared by this unexpected upload. One of the Vampire decks I've been playing and had some sort of success with is Vampire Sprights, or as I like to call it ''Vamp Rights''. The power from this deck comes from Sprind, Retainer being Lvl 2 and most importantly Plaguespreader Zombie, but its main weakness (Other than that stupid bug handtrap) is that it uses all the juice in the deck, meaning if the opponent somehow breaks and survives your board, it becomes very difficult to make a comeback. Synergising the Vamps with Gold Prides had been an idea on the back of my head since it was ported in MD, but was too busy playing Evil Eye Gold Pride (A deck that makes explosive end boards but end with 2000 LPs left lmao). Now after watching this, it made me want to experiment it with the Vamps in MD despite having no ''Rollback Netcode the card'' in the game yet. So here's hoping that it'll be better then Vamp Rights.
Ive been labbing A LOT with vampires as well and my favourite burned meal was Blind second bystial vampires. I always feel like it does nothing and suddenly i draw 2 cards steal 3 monsters from my opponent and attack for game. I wanted to make something that actually plays with the gimmick of stealing your opponents monsters from graveyard or field, so change of heart and mind control help a lot, since any monster you steal is material for sheridan or the zombie vampire
In game 1 against snake eyes you wasted the imperm because birch can only send itself on the opponents turn so might have been a winnable game. Besides that the deck was super cool lol
also on more than one ocasion he coulda made the chariot carrie to get a draw from better luck next time for potential handtraps if im not mistaken. Cool deck, i´ll stick to the punk variant tho. I like my pluses
Dark Saviors was the set that released right when I started playing the game, needless to say I love to revisit the strategies that came out with this set. Vampire/zombie good stuff, Spright fur hire runick, and finally the eternal control strategy sky striker have been great ways to revisit these archetypes. Very cool video MBT!
One thing i appreciate about mbt is that he’s the only other yugioh player i know who was a theatre kid and makes musical theatre references. I doubt that most yugioh players understand why he pronounces “popular” that way, but i do and im thankful for it
Actually, that first deck runs Lair of Darkness for a few reasons. You can see a mass of Predap cards in hand, which means they likely run one of the Predap quick-play, which can fuse using dark monsters on either field (needs two of your monsters though, which is the rougher part). Also, in some cases, Lair of Darkness is actually better than Konkon; Konkon only works for the Rikka cards, and doesn't allow the rest of your monsters to tribute your opponent's board. And if you activate Lair, use its effect to tribute, and then activate Konkon, you get a second tribute of an opponent's monster. It's a pretty interesting tech in a deck that is nowhere near good enough to see metagame play, but it's still cool.
Send for cost and give it something worthless like 500 attack or lp boost because the entire problem is almost no zombie deck can play through 2 pieces of interaction. Sending for cost forces the issue in a reasonable way while also making the "garnets" some decks have to run exclusively to send to grave more palatable. Lastly if we get a card that off of glow up bloom can special from the hand for a plus then zombies instantly become viable again. 2 cards. Just 2 cards fixes an archetype struggling a step away from reptile and cloudian.@@freaki0734
Hey, Pyro recently got really good stuff, and Fish & Sea Serpent are about to get something, so maybe Zombie and Reptile are finally going to get what they need
I had a feeling this was gonna be messy. There's probably room for improvement but that's going to require so much testing I'd rather be flogged to death by an alchemic whip passed down over the centuries.
I feel like pure turbo pin baller is the go to with this Gold pride cuz being able to equip and eventually pop the opponent monster at quick effect is strong, mind you that that the fusion with the level 5 guy is a quick effect too
As someone who has an unhealthy love for Vampire Pure...Yeah, no, I kinda saw the writing on the wall when I heard the deck archetypes in the deck Vamps aren't just about paying lifepoints, they're about turning your opponent's value on the board and off into your own; an unfortunately hard pronciple to design well around. Voivode's on-field effect being ridiculously good sometimes is most of my won games, lol. The deck can be surprisingly resillient if you can't kill it on the second turn. But anyway, yeah, rather than Vamos being an Engine for other Decks, what they really need is an engine that coincidentally helps them out a lot, the pre-released Ashened *maybe* fit that role, but I'm not really experienced enough to make that call, even if I do go through the trouble of testing it.
Yeah vampires have been through the wringer of “design of what this deck is gonna do” from targeted mill, to DARK rank 5 & 6 spam and now finally to use your opponents monsters against them
@@Grimsly3736 Surprisingly all those parts of the Archetype *can* be cohesive, but since the first part is so bad, and most of the synergy between them is built on that effect, the overall Archetype suffers *hard*
@@azure663 I’m surprised we haven’t got Camula support yet, the vampire chick from GX like a retrain of Lord and Genesis maybe give us that funny Soul Gate card as an archetypical vamp one
@@Grimsly3736 That'd be good, but alas, my hope for Camula retrains is presently pretty *undead* (get it! haha!), though I can see Konami being tempted to release an actually good version of Vampire Genesis...or at least Vampire Lord since Kaiba played it...? Please Konami just give us Vampire fans something to *chew on*! (wow the pun energy *really* infected this comment...*infected?* I swear that one was unintentional-)
@@azure663 lol I like you, very punny, but yeah after seeing Vampire Ghost i thought we’d of got something by now? Maybe in the next Animation Chronicles since Camula had two anime only monsters Zombie Werewolf and Vampire Bat then some misc back row
Thank for you helping me sell my extra Gold Pride and Vampire cards. I sell cards on TCGPlayer and I swear, every time you do a 10 minute testing, I end up selling a bunch of the cards the next day if I have them Lol.
Man, and I was like, "Joe is COOKIN'!" and unfortunately that 5 curse dinner I thought you were making was actually a ham sandwich and a bag of Doritos.
It's so funny that Snake eyes is one of the only decks which don't really care about turn skips. They just sit there and are like "yeah and?" Like the amounts of duels I've passed with 0 cards on board in MD and still won is just so funny.
The best deck to do the rollback lock will be chimera with the new lvl 6 spellcastee support. 1 card rollback lock plus infnite ways to set up the normal illusion stuff
I love the theme of Vampires, but man they're just so bad. The theme of reviving from the gy is cool, and so is the pay LP / steal LP when attacking thing. Just a shame they lack a good end board and that their starters all need to special summon from the GY to be useful, which means you need other vampire cards in hand to discard. Would be great if future support let you choose between discarding or paying a LP cost, just so you had the option of discarding to extend, or to just pay LP if you need your cards / lack another vampire.
Tbh zombie in general has a pretty weak end board, DoomKing ain’t really cutting it much anymore “Wollow, Founder of the Drudge Dragons” is a interesting card for vampires itself tho
The joke at the end of the “cons” section was so bad I genuinely considered disliking the video for a moment. Amazing work Joseph, truly. Never change.
I feel like you could just play that other Zombie deck with Krystia in it from a while back for basically the same effect. This just doesn't seem to end on much and with the other one you should always have a Baledroch at least
Unrelated question: sometimes, people take about the "xstevens from DB". Is this the same guy that made the GOAT irl duelling series in the beginning of the 2010s? If so, how the hell there are no reactions to it on YT? It's increadible :/
If you really wanted to make the skit next level, you should have put a halloween smoke machine in your shirt or something and turned it on when the garlic hit. 😂
If you can turnskip with this deck, very often you won't have resources to OTK on the next turn. Good. I wish Konami printed some Zombie support that is better than this someday, last time MBT made a zombie TMT it was Kristia turbo.
