Good to see more footage of this fairly obscure shooter. Hell youtube and google even autocorrect its searches into 'Vampire Knight' unless you use quotes. I liked the home-exclusive Special mode for its replayability with the Silver currency, item shop, and equipables you could swap out.
The way past meetings and conflicts are obliquely mentioned throughout the game makes me realize that this is merely the climax of a much longer story; I wouldn't mind knowing the rest of this tale, especially given the numerous references to other great vampire media present (the stage 1 quote mimics the "But Transient Visitors Are We" routine from Vampire Hunter D, the stage 5 boss is a clear nod to Rahab from Soul Reaver, the last boss is a clear Castlevania shout-out, etc.)
Yes!!! This was one of my favorite light gun games! there's one game which you can't beat without dieing at least once, which is Midways Carnevil still, keep up the good work bud! :)

Wow, excellent game play. I used to play this game all the time when I was younger, it was the first PS2 game I got with the Guncon 2. I've probably got 1000s of hours on that single game alone and I can remember every detail of the game. I never really played the vanilla arcade mode though, only the special mode and training which was what made this game pretty great. Awesome score though, I could not have the trigger discipline nor the patience to try and attempt a good score on the game; I'd probably stuff up on every villager sarcoma shot. Also the Aussie accent on the woman who ploughs into the knights armour on chapter 4 XD
Hey Smraedis, Phenomenal clearance run as per usual! Especially had me on edge at the end. I was hoping you would be able to answer some questions I have about your experiences doing 1CCs and what's to come in the future: - Do you feel a significant amount of fatigue when doing 1CCs? (I ask because having done a number of 1CCs myself in London; I have found machines whose games last 20+ minutes such as HOTD 3/4 require a significant amount of stamina which can take you by surprise on your initial attempts) - Do you prefer the cover based Arcade games such as the Time Crisis series; or the non-cover games such as HOTD and Vampire Night? - What games do you have in the pipeline? I would personally love to see HOTD 4 Special Edition! - Have you had the chance to check out Time Crisis 5 in the Arcades at all? If so, what are your thoughts? - Have you ever considered doing run throughs of the "Crisis Missions" in Time Crisis 2 onwards? Keep up the great work! Paul :)
Thanks, most of my runs on this game go like this :D I feel that some games tire you out more than others, but I'm usually fine with doing repeat clears for hours on end I prefer the Time Crisis cover system, but I don't mind games not having it With what's next, I'm trying different games, including Project Titan, can do HOTD4 Special at some point Yeah I've played TC5, and I find it less enjoyable than the rest of the series, but at least it's a new light-gun game I haven't bothered with the TC2 Crisis Missions, no
Actually, there are. It’s just that you’re not at the right place. I’ve been to a mall in VN that has THOTD 4 before. And the guns works...unlike the few that I’ve seen but it works. Check it out if u get the chance.
From what I can find, this game was made by Sega's WOW Entertainment branch, who did do the ports of HOTD 2 and 3 on the PC, although HOTD was made by Sega Amusements (I forget which AM branch)
Did Vampire Night support 4-pin Firewire (i-Link) twin console linking via the "s400" jack - next to the USB jacks on older phat PS2 consoles? I'm reading conflicting information online and can't find a RU-vid example like I can for Time Crisis 2 & 3 PS2 system link.
I guess this game was underrated, but still fun game. Unlike The House Of The Dead, this game is about Vampire Hunters who hunting down the vampires who sent from 300 years ago.
Great job! That must be pretty tough to get that 1CC but its worth it! I can bet that the difficulty would be like Cave's Ketsui's Second Ura Loop or Omote overall... (from a view point)
Do bosses have invincibility frames after being hit during an attack you need to cancel? I seem to remember despising the adaptive difficulty because of that.
Wait a minute The Brother of the girl also died? The ending there is three gravestone, one is for the black jacket vampire hunter and two is for white jacket vampire hunter. And three? Is for Dracula or the little girl vampire brother?
I think the AC record is 120k+ by HIM, and M.T got 120k on PS2 as well. It's difficult to improve the score, but I would believe the main determinant is on accuracy. You can check out LEO's videos on how to do it, especially for S3. He got 93% for it in that particular video.
Smraedis Arcade Superplays I didn't mention it explicitly, the main idea is to keep shooting the enemy's strong spots first to rack up the 10 points and accuracy buffer, followed by a weakpoint finishing blow.
To add on, if you have 100% accuracy for S1, you can get up to 13800, vs 10800 at 91%. It is possible to get 100% for S2 as well, but it is a lot more difficult than S1. So there's about 3k + 3k difference in accuracy alone.
Ok I'm playing the game and in training mode there is this one mode where you shoot life ups and it's so hard do you have any advice for hitting the life ups
Who here thinks JonTron should play this? I'd love to see how he'd react to all this. Edit note: I posted this _before_ I knew about the whole Sargon stuff.
He probably won't. Target Terror is bad game design right off the bat for... -There is no way to determine when you get hit or not... -and it doesn't help the enemies have ridiculous accuracy -As well as the hostages? just stand around and do nothing. No reward and they are nearly everywhere -No bosses. -Wii port is hilariously bad (port from pc hardware to the wii?) And the voice acting. I'm guessing whoever voice acted didn't even want to try because of how bad the game is. P.S. I don't know if anyone has saw a real Vampire Night arcade machine before.
There are a few ways, WinGun for Guncon 2, or use a AimTrak or WiiMote with a dolphin bar as a substitute if not using a CRT TV. However this video is done with a real PS2, no emulation involved
