I would recommend The a black Dagger Brotherhood by: JR Ward (I need to reread one day and finish) and The Discovery of Witches (a witch falls in love with a Vampire in a Forbidden romance)
Would also recommend the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harknesd (1st book is Discovery of Witches) and The Raven by Sylvain Reynard (3 book series). All very good reads!
The Laurell K Hamilton Anita Blake series is so so good. Its slow burn in the first seversl books, leading to a very high spice level in the middle/later books. I've been addicted to this series for ages!
An awesome series I’m reading rn is “Bite the Woman that Feeds” by Penelope Barsetti…I gave the first book 5 stars…check trigger warnings b/c the MMC is very morally grey.
Added Black Sunshine to my wish list. Each time you talk about it makes me want to read it so I definitely need to check it out. I have Empire of the Vampire but haven’t read it yet. Maybe I should next month.
I LOVED Empire of the Vampire!!! Favourite read of the year so far! (and shameless plug but if you don’t want to reread the first book, I have an in depth recap of it posted on my channel for just that reason 😂)
I went with the standalone Embers in the snow. It is not even a small town more a castle-romance. Up till their first sex scene the book is good. After that it drags. But here the FC and Mc were likable. I didn't want to kill them.🤣 . . SPOILER OR SO The side story with the second prince is just a page filler and gives us some unticlimaktic fight scenes. The scene in the palace was very emotionaly good and it could have ended there. Also the mother-sidestory doesn't bring anything to the table: is she needed to break the seal? does she help with learning about powers? 🤷♀️She just shows up for the wedding. And prince looks like a hero😮💨 Just a sek...I tried to mark "between my thighs" as a read....I lost track of it...because it became preditable and boring.
empire of the vampire is so misogynistic and kristoff has an unrespectful way of creating female characters. I really dont mind a lot of shit, but this and the weird obsession with r*pe was a deal breaker for me. the narrator and formatting are great though.
I just finished K.F. Breene's Demon Days, Vampire Nights series, and while it wasn't my favorite series, it was good enough that I finished all 11 books.😸 If you like paranormal vampire stories, (this one is urban-fantasy set it New Orleans) and if you like them snarky, spicy and kinda violent, you might like this one. The kick-ass heroine is Reagan and her arch begins with Fused in Fire. But I preferred Penny the shy Witch's arch. He story begins in book 4, in Natural Witch. Lot's of sexy vampires.
Have you venture into the Vampire Chronicles yet? They don't get a lot of love these days, sadly, but Queen of the Damned and Momnoch the Devil are all time favorites of mine. The series fell of for a number of years, but the last 3 books Rice wrote before she died were also great book and a return to form.
Currently reading bride by Ali Hazelwood and 😍 loving so far. Learning about the Vampyrs and Weres, the jokes made me LOL 😆 and nice build up of romance. Update; I love this book 😍❤️From start to finish. I think this is the best fantasy I've ever read 👀I could go on and on about this book💞 It explained something I witnessed and got curious about, as a child😏🤯
I just finished Embers in the Snow and I enjoyed that one very much! I agree with you on the not a lot of action, but I just loved how they got to know each other, and how protective they both were to each other! So good!
