Look, as a gypsy, maybe I shouldn't, but I love this clan because I can just imagine the writers going "what about a Gypsy clan?" and the FIRST THING THEY THINK OF is a bunch of nasty stinky crime lads. I really, really, don't understand anything about the lore or how anything works because I just started Googling stuff this night but dude I've been chuckling at the wikia for like a solid half hour. I genuinely like the whole "tempting fate" flaw because I relate to it, as well as the whole combust if you don't move trait (I WISH that's how it was, maybe then we wouldn't be forced to be settled), but stuff like The Treatment where if you upset one Ravnos antibubuian a bunch of them raid a town I just can't stop loving.
I ran a 5th gen ravnos that during his frenzy attacked a true brujah who trapped me in a hall of hades court and made a few minutes in my time be days for him and by the time I walked out the week was over, and that's how I survived, and also how he became path of entelechy too
Did anyone else have to play this video at least twice; once to lose yourself in the amazing concept art and again to lose yourself in the amazing lore presentation? Just me? Okay.
One minor point. Sidhe come from Irish myth and, typical of Irish, it's not pronounced how it looks but more like 'she'. Though, of course, being a WoD creature we could all argue about how they intend it to be pronounced (bit like with Brujah :p)
I loved playing this clan , the sabbat line is fun to play. My clan was staked my character during the week nightmares. So he made it wish I got to play him more
One of my least favourite clans personally, even if you ignore the writing issues in the books. Chimestry is either horribly overpowered or absolutely useless depending on the rules used, and I feel like Vampires shouldn't have what is essentially Mage magic.
Great video as per usual. This video also reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask about what may occur in V5 in the future. Given that so far in V5 a lot of the disciplines have been merged the best example probably being Necromancy and Obtenebration is now the discipline of Oblivion. Does anyone think that the Tzimisce and the Ravnos which are the last two clans which need to be adapted into V5 will have a similar thing occur with their unique disciplines? Or do you think that vicissitude and chimerstry will be combined with one of the other currently existing disciplines or do you think they will keep them unique? If anyone has any thoughts on this I would be very interested to hear them.
@@carna-9501 It could be, but wouldn't that technically make the Tzimisce's signature discipline a sub category of the Tremere's signature discipline. Which given both clans views and history with each other, it probably wouldn't make much sense. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
I might have missed something in one of the later VRev books but the Dark Mother wasn't sire to the Sybarites - her journey west was one of many waves of Ravnos coming west. In her case only notable because she's 4th generation. But also the Sybarites weren't the Brahman jati, and everyone descended from her blood is. The Phaedymites are all Brahman, effectively, but the Sybarites are something else and have Fortitude. I don't know I'm not the expert here.
I got my info from the Revised clanbook so that's where I've drawn my info, but I'll be honest, it's a mess in there, and the Wiki didn't help much either. I'm not sure if it's a contradiction in the lore or in my own note-taking at this point, I'm afraid.

Can someone please explain why a lot of people don't like the Ravnos? I didn't really pay much attention to them when I first read the V20 book. All I really remember is that they're supposed to be greedy hedonists with the ability to create illusions. Yet I still distinctly remember that many people don't like the clan.
It's because of their clan curse. They're not hedonistic by choice, their curse forces them to succumb to a criminal vice. That vice could be drugs, alcohol, gambling, murder, theft, pretty much anything that is either illegal, or has an addiction that must be fed. Sometimes this leads to extra steps being taken during feeding, like injecting drugs into their feeding victim, or forcing alcohol down the throats of Kine.
