Van canto is one of my favorite bands. They have a great mix of your typical camp fire songs like Last night of the Kings and then making power metal songs like Lost Forever.
these guys are amazing live..and how they do the bass lines and all other rythems with there voices.is just mind blowing..have to head phone there tracks to realy hear all the little vocal nuances...
They are amazing live, they have 1 drummer the rest is acapella and they make great use of that, by letting drummer play solos so there is no dull moment during the show than they have to drink s9ome water and give their voices a little break.
I actually saw these guys live, front row! I will never forget that evening,it was an extremely fun experience! Glad that liked it man, keep up the good work! :)
It took me listening several times, but everything is Van Canto. The other bands playing their songs, Van Canto. Sound effects, Van Canto. It's awesome!
They also did an Iron Maiden cover of Fear of the Dark which was really good. Sometimes in there guitars solos I don't know if they are using guitars or not.
"She's HOT... There, I said it"... fun fact: her last name is Scharf, which translates literally to "sharp", but colloquially to "hot" as well... what a proper last name... :D
I used to listen to van canto all the time in the 2010’s I too was mind blown when I heard them for the first time. Then I lost track of them so It was nice to see this more recent video of them, they are truly amazing.
'sup Bruv! Just found your channel today and gotta say i find it most enjoyable. I would also like to suggest a band from my home country (Finland) called Mokoma. I think you might enjoy it, especially their earlier stuff. Keep up the good work and have a fantastic day.
Thanks for the shout galactic :) super stoked you liked them. as mention I asked for this song in perticular because if gives you little tasters for covers. If you want to see them live look up their cover alone in the dark live at wakken well worth it - Ben Baird
To see how Van Canto sounds/looks live watch the Video to "To sing a metal song". Video was shot in Wacken in 2011, I'm one of the cracy VanCantiens in the crowd. At the beginning he says to the audience: "You don't have to think you dont have to sing with us, only of course there is a A-Capella-Band on Stage. ..."
German quality Acapella metal! :D Btw. you should check out the new Crystal Lake song "Black and Blue", it's not as monotone shouts as their older songs ;D
Very cool to see your reaction to a band which is very close to my heart. I also think some more videos from them are also very reaction worthy: "Rebellion" for a cover of a well known song "Primo Victoria" as a collaboration cover with the original singer "If I die in battle" and "Lost forever" for original songs "Last night of the kings" for an original, Blind Guardian like campfire song And just to listen to, "Fear of the dark" and "The bard's song" Enough from me, I would recommend Lost forever out of personal taste. Love your reaction, keep em going!
P.S.: You should react to Rammstein videos too if you can. ;) Or the singer's english side project Lindemann (with Pain's Peter Tägtgren), they also have two very reactworthy videos.
I like it a lot it's very different and in today's day it's very hard to be different from all the other crap that's out there..... you are so f'n cool bro
Really great review of Van Canto. Your reaction was very similar to mine. They are a great live band, it's very funny to see them on stage, but it has to be in a club or something, because at open airs the wind can easily destroy the sound and swallow much of that "vocal instruments". By the way, that little bald head in the video, who plays the professor, is a german comedian called "Bernhard Hoecker", he supports the band and mentions them quite often on TV, or is on stage with them in some TV shows. his band cool metal, and there is nothing missing, even if they don't have guitars and bass. Your thoughts about "Apocalyptica" are the same as mine, cool idea but completely destroyed it with guitars, drums and singers.
I think it'd be amazing to hear your thoughts on my favorite band; Avantasia. Particularly the song "Promised Land" or "Babylon Vampyres" My favorite song of all time is actually their epic "Let The Storm Descend Upon You" but that one is a beast at 12 minutes long.
You should check out Amaranthe "The Nexus" Video. They combine elements of pop with metal. They have three vocalists one female one clean male and one growler/screamer. I would describe them as being Abba on steroids Modern Melodic Metal. Oh and Elize Ryd is hot too.
Iammelodic Amaranthe, Delain, Babymetal, all of them are shitty bands... Commercial bullshit, no good compositions, very repetitive and disgustingly mixing pop with metal, what a shame. I like Elize's voice, but her band sucks. I would say the worst is Babymetal...
So this is very late but the story is.. the guy in the beginning cant play a guitar, so he goes full mad scientist and clones agents to rid the world of guitars. The agents apparently proceed to interrupt bands during their jam sessions - we see Black Sabbath - Paranoid, Metallica - Master of Puppets and Sabaton - Primo Victoria, all of which Van Canto have covered in full - and yoink their guitars. As the news of the missing instruments spread and Van Canto become aware of the issue, they decide to Badaboom the agents back to where they came from, thus foiling the scientist's plans of ...becoming the biggest guitar collector in the world? The scientist is Bernhard Hoecker, a german comedian. And they are an epic live act. :)
Here's Van Canto live with Blind Guardian's Hansi Kürsch and Grave Digger doing GD's "Rebellion" at Wacken during GD's 30th anniversary! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PbzSWcRM9u0.html
U asked for something close to Apocalyptica. I think these guys come close enough: 2CELLOS - Thunderstruck or Slayer - Raining Blood (Banjo cover w/ solos) Slayer - Angel of Death (Banjo cover w/ solos) Enjoy !
Since you liked it and don't want to hear any of their covers, have a listen to songs like "If I Die in Battle" or "Last Night of the Kings", that's where you can hear their true potential :) of course, do a reaction video on them :D
You really need to check out Vinushka (remastered), Rinkaku, Lotus or Dozing Green by Dir En Grey. You've happened to choose two of their weirdest videos, and these are more serious and are centered around clean vocals. They are a very diverse band that isn't just heavy & weird.
You asked how awesome this would be live... Maybe after this long time it's time to check back... For a live performance, check out this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UrxfZv6KEL0.html It's not pure Van Canto though - it's the finale of their Wacken show and features a couple of guests (one with a real guitar even...) and a whole choir...
cool band and they have some good songs. They do get old very fast. Therion, is a band that's very different Classical inspired metal, with opera vocals. Check out the song Rise Of Sodom and Gomorrah. It's a good song to start with. Still want you to check out Pagans Mind - Enigmatic Mission video. I think youd love those guys.
Unleash the Archers just came out with a new video (Time stands still), you might want to check it out, they too have a female singer (also, she is hot, in case that it is a requirement :D ). They play power metal with some melodic death metal thrown in for good measure. I have to add that 'Time stands still' is one of their slower songs. 'Tonight we ride' might be a better choice for a reaction, the clip is pretty cool as well, though a bit uneventful - they could have done much more with what they had.
please react Van canto with the song "to sing a metal song" live at wacken open air 2011 and you can see how powerful this band is live at the open air
React to Sabaton (the band u thought was Rammstein). I would say that u should either listen to Carolus Rex, Carolean prayer or Primo victoria. U can also listen to Sabaton - Primo Victoria and then Van Cantos cover of Primo Victoria
Do a react to Messgram - Hollow Dream, they posted their whole album as audio on their official youtube channel. Messgram are a female fronted South Korea band combining elements of Electronicore, Easycore, Hard Rock and Pop, making some really crazy and addictive music.
No need to imagine this live. It's absolutely fucking great (though when I saw them, two dudes with cardboard swords and armour having a duel in the pit kinda stole the show)
There's one every time. Okay, here's the thing. A capella means _unaccompanied._ You can use drums to back a singer, but not to accompany one, because you can't play a tune on a drum kit. You can play a rhythm, but not a tune. So having a drummer does not disqualify them from being a capella.
Hello, hopefully you could see this, perhaps you could make a react on "Miyavi", I hardly find anyone doing this perhaps you can give it a try....thank you
