The whole fashion/luxury culture is giving me the ick nowadays. We’ve just been bombarded with this over-the-top fashion craze and marketing storms for several years now nonstop and kind of sick of it for now….😢🤮

I am a mom of 6. As you grow older you will find that your mom knows your spirit and nature better than anyone! I bet she encourages your gifts and strengths and discourages your “bad” habits or tendencies! Your mom is your perfect advocate and accountability partner! You will understand if and when you choose to have babies. You are precious and have amazing advice and style.

Love your take on it and completely agree, first of all it is a classic that was designed in 1968 so it will always be a classic, and second if you love it but can’t afford it you can also go for versions that are inspired by the original, paying an homage to it. People are seriously a little delusional about luxury fashion. I live in NYC and unless I am in specific areas I hardly see Van Cleef, Birkins, Kellys, etc. Maybe in certain zip codes at certain events would someone wear their real Van Cleef jewelry but...folks have to chill with the hyperbole about all trends from quiet luxury to whatever.

What a well spoken response to the ick. One thing that I'm curious how you feel about is: we pay mainly for the brands name rather than the actual quality of the luxury item. Isn't that monitising on a much higher level considering the profit margin. The profits of those copy cats are a 🌬️ in the air. I agree that I don't care what other people wear. What does happen to me is that I enjoy looking different... And I don't feel as expressive if everyone else looks like me cause they're wearing the same. So it does put me off. And then I get bored of the same thing everyone is trending. If I think about it it sucks because other people shouldn't influence what I like but that's for now still a thing for me.

I love fashion but I don’t enjoy things that are overly popular. Van Cleef jewellery is beautiful but when I see so many people wearing them, even if it was an affordable brand I still wouldn’t buy it for myself. Nevertheless, people should wear and do whatever they want, no judgement here.

Van Cleef is a top jeweler. Just like Bulgari/Cartier and their bracelets and Tiffany and their heart charm, there is a signature piece that introduces folks to the brand - and usually at a vast range of prices from inexpensive to extremely expensive. Not everyone can enjoy the high- end pieces (sometimes called high jewelry), but lately there does seem to be an enhanced popularity in certain 'must-have' pieces and the 'ick' is that extreme popularity in certain pieces. The earrings are lovely, but the clanking would drive me batty. I love your vlogs and your style!
Every time that I pack too early there is confusion about what is in the case and what is out (for things you are using up till time of departure) This can be so annoying when you reach your destination and discover that the thing you thought you packed is actually not there. SO, what I do is in the days leading up to departure I make an extensive list on my phone of outfits I will wear when I'm away, with accessories, getting them cleaned a few days before if necessary, then on the day I leave it is really quick to go through the list pulling things out of my closet and putting it all in the bag along with my travel skincare bag and every day makeup bag.
