I always realized that play the drums well takes talent. But, till now watching Ami I never realized the physical and mental stamina, timing, agility and awareness required. The setup of cameras shows a side of playing drums that in my opinion is amazing. Thanks

It is a common misconception. Some aspiring musicians have treated drummers poorly in the past, basically because if the drummer doesnt read music they assume that he has little to discuss with them musically. They may as well send him out for hamburgers, like an on-site errand boy! You should see the about face that occurs when a drummer learns how to play their instrument and read and write music. All along the drummer has been playing multiple instruments when playing the "kit". There is more to it than just slam banging around. There is coordination between hands and feet, volume and tone dynamics, timing and silence and effects coordination. This is in conjunction with how it all melds with the other instruments. The really good ones make it look effortless.

I grew up during the 80’s and heard many of these songs daily. One aspect of my life that I wasn’t so aware of is that I have often thought, about different ethnic groups, is that they all or most excel at a particular aspect of life. As an example, “ All/most Asians excel in arithmetic. That’s just what they do.” I certainly would never have thought there would be any interest to play drums, and if there was interest, certainly nothing from the 80’s. What I just watched broke my limited ideas of where interests lie for different ethnic groups. I would have never thought I would see this. It just never crossed my mind to put this combination together. And then in heels and a dress? You, are a talented young lady and beautiful. Keep practicing.👍🏻

Check out Yoyoka if you haven't already. She just turned twelve and had a birthday bash you can find on RU-vid. This song Jump was one her band played and will be premiering on her channel in 20 hours or so. She's the best drummer I've ever seen , and she is always in the pocket
