I love this movie but very underrated I think.

I never knew of the existence of this movie until today, March 2021. :D I was just randomly scrolling through Netflix and decided to watch it only because it stars Hugh Jackman. God I loved it! So theatrical! Every exaggerated detail is done on purpose. It is one thing to know the rules and follow them, but it is a whole another level to know how to break them masterfully, and the movie excels at that. The over the top dramatic acting at times, and lack of it at others, the bending of laws of physics, the knowledge of the original stories and taking a real artistic liberty in adaptations of the original and its characters! (granted I never read any 'original story' about the werewolves). For some reason, the direction this movie took reminded me slightly of the works of Cliff Burton. EDIT: This movie is an accent fetish as well, xD. I've had only two interactions with Romanian girls previously, and since then my friends kept on telling me I have something for Romanians... Oh yes I do it seems, xD. Yes yes, I know the actress is English... Hey, gimme a break...

Hugh Jackman’s Van Helsing has been long overdue for a team-up with Brendan Fraser’s Rick O’Connell, which we were sad would never happen. However, the possibility has opened up again recently as previous incarnations of good franchises have been revisited after being rebooted.

I didn't even know there was a film on this.. I was so shocked when I saw it on Netflix.. The games are also bloody amazing too so I'll have to get this and give it a watch

I feel like this movie would’ve been better if it had more of a tone like the first Mummy with Brendan Fraser and not over the top like Mummy Returns. I think it’s a great idea and they should revisit it again by someone who is super passionate about this universe

If u guys like this u should try The Van Helsing movie game on PS2 and Xbox, Damnation (ps3 xbox360,pc) and DarkWatch , all those games seem inspired by it ,Darkwatch in particular and WitchSlayer (more recent)
