Van is a bright brother. I’ve been blessed to have shared space with powerful brown and black folk. They carry themselves a certain way, the speak a certain way, they’re able to express thought beautifully. They took the time to invest in themselves through education and brought it back to the community. Strengthen your voice and your spirit through knowledge, brothers and sisters. Brother Van didn’t just wake up with the right words to say, he worked hard, dedicated hours towards his education, and when the opportunity arose he was able to step up.

I agree with Trevor 1000% My mom suffered from mental illness as well and was Unmedicated throughout our childhood and most of my adult years. I didn’t truly meet my mother until 2 years before she transitioned and was religiously on her medication. Even suffering dementia and Parkinson’s, she was the mother that I wished I had grown up with but, my grandchildren were blessed to meet a great-grandmother that they could love and who showed a beautiful live for them. It was then, and only then, that I could forgive my mom for my damaged upbringing. But as for Kanye West, it’s shameful that everyone around him, the media and also his fans, are taking advantage of him and using him as entertainment and a media circus event. This poor man has admitted on several occasions in the past, that he suffers from mental illness, genuine mental illness, and no one cares? Hee hee haa haa, Kanye West just said something else insane on the news! Since when is mental illness a joke? People disgust me. When he’s dead from spiraling as far down as he can go, the media and fans will be sooo sad, sooo shocked. Ugh! Disgusting!!

HIS NAME IS YE NOW! I know you are probably the type that makes sure to call everyone by their pronouns, but you disrespect a man who made it VERY CLEAR that he has changed his name. I recognize when someone is in the middle of a manic episode. That, however, doesn’t excuse nor justifies his crappy behavior. Someone can suffer from mental illness & be super kind, and altruistic. Conversely, someone can suffer from mental illness & be a raging narcissistic jerk. The latter describes your hero, Ye. BTW…never had any desire to know the guy & never will. There are plenty of black folks who are great & do great things. Scholars & educators with amazing minds & experiences, but do it out of the limelight. Ye is constantly seeking the media & cannot get out of his own way. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. If he is really interested in peace, love & unity, as you are lulled into believing because he’s saying those words, than riddle me this Batman: why has he secured Milo Yiannopoulos as his campaign manager? Why is he choosing to align himself with Nick Fuentes? His actions betray his words. But you go head on & hang on to your hero. I appreciated that Van stood his ground in the face of someone that he used to look up to and he did it when everyone in the room agreed w Ye. I also appreciated that Ye acknowledged that he was triggering and that he understood. But he also had valid thoughts that many were not ready for. But in the moment Van shined because he could have been canceled. But he didn’t let that sway him from saying his truth

"Stood his ground." I'm not feeling those words as much as those you used at the end, "saying his truth." He was speaking from the truth of his soul. Rarely seen and heard. Especially on a mass media platform. Those kind of soul to soul connections, conversations where you can see the person in question, being challenged and listening, are not part of the planned programming. But occasionally if you watch you'll see the divine nature of our being manifesting truth that transcends our racialized reality.

piss off with that bullshit. You aint saying nothing about these people profiting from promoting gangster music, lean, murder in the black community. I aint got no time for liars and people who want to act like this bullshit is not real.

Step 1. Stop calling each other the n word in any context period ! Ask yourself would you greet Malcolm with "wuz up my niggah? Didn't think so!! The term disrespects our history and our ELDERS. We were deceived into hating each other through our culture. Van is right when he said they like when we disrespect each other, they enjoy when we're dissiapointed, they enjoy when we eat crow wow! They meaning most of the world, not all but most. #h2boss #40BULLSFILMS #neelyfullerjr #cluadeanderson #sandydarity #h2bossabetterman

Brother Van, I have great appreciation for your Brand. Stay focus and awares of the times. Ye is not the best articulater. Great hip-hop artist though. Ye is in pain and emotional. The bigger picture is what's important. Nonetheless, the way you spoke to him was perfect. If you continue to voice opinions like the way you did to Ye with your platform I see you doing greater things. Tmz didn't show your talents until that day. You are much better than that show. That my opinion. Peace and prosperity to you and yours.

Sometimes it's hard finding out that our heros are not exactly who we think they are or that they have a difference of opinion towards politics or religion. It doesn't mean we should cancel people because of a difference in opinion. Ye is controversial but he speaks truth to power

Truth is a power in and of itself. Able to be spoken by and empowering the weakest, and brokenest of vessels. Those with ears to hear are listening for the truth not looking for an excuse to believe what they want to hear.

Funny how the first minute completely turns me off about a rapper I grew up listening to. Then again, all the rappers I grew up idolizing, I don't agree with politically. Ye, I was never really a fan of, but it is who I now admire and respect. Funny.

No, you all give too much credit for people doing or saying anything. What exactly did Kanye say or has said that is so awe inspiring? Clearly you and many in the black community have never been introduced to scholarly work that spans literature, history, science, logic, civilizations, great historical figures, etc. This is why anybody saying nonsense tickles your fancy especially when they are hip hop artists whom you idolize. What is so profound about Kanye’s babbles?

One only needs to listen to songs like Crack Music and Blood Diamonds, Kanye's early albums. Candace Owens always presented herself and spoke on behalf of former President Trump and the conservative party. Candace Owens politics are consistent to say the least.
