Happy Birthday. I turned 55 this year, I know I will be entering van life at some point in the not to distant future. I am saving for my van and cannot wait to get on with it. As a single middle aged woman who has worked most of her life in the aged care sector I have little to show from my years of work as most has gone to pay someone else's mortgage. I dont want to become a statistic, one of the growing band of single aussie middle aged women who find themselves homeless. So I have decided to be proactive and get myself organised and informed about van conversions and van life - so thank you for your content. From one aussie woman to another. Cheers from Queensland.
Happy Birthday! I find it quite amusing - a lot of people do vanlife for the freedom. But I find in some groups there are so many “rules”. Good for you for doing what works for you. Vanlife is still in the planning stages for me. I know I’ll be staying at caravan parks every now and then. How satisfying to have all your washing done - and to be able to still work and enjoy your day while you’re at it. Thanks for another great video and for keeping it real. ps. I love that you share your insecurities, like hanging out your washing the first time. I’m sure I’d feel that too. I think it helps to know that we all worry about the some of the same things.
Happy birthday to you I've just found you and I'm wanting to go on van camping but I'm new to camping g in Australia I used to camp all the time in New Zealand so happy to watch your videos to give me some ideas
When I do my.laundry, I hang it on the line in order - socks together, underwear together, t-shirts together, etc. I fold it at the line (it gives me an excuse to be outside enjoying the view, rather than inside on my laptop), so when I take it off the line it's already in piles to put straight into.the drawers / bins. Folding laundry outside is a pleasure. Folding laundry inside is a chore!
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement in the kitchen, and a bit of both ,sometimes straight away and sometimes other things get in the way, happy travels, tracy
I would love to have that plywood painted. I think it will enrich your time in the van, esthetically and emotionally. I love your videos so far. Happy trails
Happy Birthday. I turned 71 in January. :) I wish I could do those exercises, but I can't get down on my knees without a lot of pain. Such is old age and arthritis. But I will try to get walking again once the rain stops. Until then, it's naps with my cats. Sweet pup heating up and cooling off. I imagine your caravan park had showers and bathrooms, too. Bonus. How is your writing going? You mentioned short stories in one video. I write crime fiction and am working on a book series. Jon in rural BC, Canada
Happy birthday 🎉. You do not look or act 58yo! You walk and move like a 40yo or less! I love the exercise routine and work balance during the work day. I’m really impressed with your lifestyle. It’s really inspiring. I’m 60yo next March and Im ready for a sea change.
Happy birthday Brenna. Abby has such beautiful coloring. I’m certainly enjoying the sights and sounds of Australia. I enjoy your very down to earth style.
Happy birthday, you are a youngin…I’m 4 years full time on the road, with my Border Collie, my bestie and I’m 73…love love love my freedom….and often stay in caravan parks for the relaxation, showers, power, bathrooms, laundry and peace of mind….
Happy Birthday Brenna….. I enjoyed spending your birthday with you! It was a great day! I do enjoy your videos cos I plan to live this life one day and getting your tips are very valuable. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Brenna, I have bought a car charger for my laptop, a lock for camper hitch, wheel brace, and a highlift jack mate for lifting the wheel. So keep getting things slowly for getting on the road
Happy 58th birthday! I just had my 53rd birthday on 7th. You're staying in the town where my sister had a house until she sold it recently. She loved Millicent SA too.
Hi Brenna. New to your channel and really enjoying. I also am solo and want to say kudos to you for overcoming fears and doing it. I wonder what brought you to van life but will watch what I can find.
Loving your videos so much, Very well produced and edited. Music, images overcut, or high speed content etc, Nice variation and rythm. Great to advocate the benefits of good caravan parks, I hate the ones that charge a fortune and jam you in like sardines, But many are a joy and very well run. You are spot on. We only need please ourselves! Belated happy birthday too!
I low key love holiday parks. Free camping becomes exhausting especially with a dog and alone as a woman. Sometimes i dont realize how tense and anxious i am and then i get to a holiday park and can breathe a little.
Great to see you and Abby enjoying your journey and looking so well. Always helpful when laundry coincides with a sunny day. The two NSW - WA freight rail routes are still down with floods, so there are triple-doubles (road trains) coming west on Highway 1. Please take care. Love this sweet caravan park, what's not to love about hot showers, flush toilets, and uninterrupted power and clean water. I am trying to embrace organisation and motivation from your many examples, just have to find a way past inertia and procrastination. Best wishes for your birthday month.
Happy belated birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 Pete here. I met you at the laundromat today 🙂Happy to have met you. I'll be following your channel. I sub from Beaconsfield, Tasmania 🇦🇺
A very late Happy Birthday to you. :) Abby is such a good girl, what a sweet companion you have in her. I loved this video, it's so calming, and enjoyed seeing your day and that beautiful view.
Hi Brenna, I really love your comments about just doing it your way. Its the way everyone should think and respect others for doing it their way. oh and happy birthday!!!!! Mike
Cheers, Joyfully wishing you another Happiest Birth Day Everyday (belated as I’m a newbie to your lovely inspiring channel) Thank You for being genuine, sharing the Aussie journey with all of us. It’s truly refreshing, relatable, and entertaining. Living your best life to the fullest every day. Appreciating being surrounded by natures’ beautiful scenic treasures. The impressive life philosophies. Your you tube channel is absolutely Awesome! Thank you.
Happy belated bday! I would love a shopping video like things you get when you get groceries or when you go into town(new books or art supplies or clothes)
Happy Birthday, Birthdays are always great when spent with those we love and we sure know how much you love Abby and how much she loves you, beautiful spot to spend a sunny day.
Happy Birthday! You inspire me - I'm working on making my car into a weekend camper - start with what you've got. I think that dress looks lovely on you by the way.
Thanks for including us on your birthday day and I do hope you managed to have something special after doing all those loads of laundry and also having your work to do. 🎉🎉 Best Wishes
Happy belated Birthday Brenna! ( today's 27/4/23.) I just found you! It looks like you had a beautiful peaceful day birthday. It's the simple things isn't it that make each day special.
Thx Brenna for the tip about the exercise program & about the laundry at a laundromat vs the laundry at an RV park. Yes, I’m American. I think it is a great idea to have some time at a park & not worry about all the concerns U have on the road. I think it’s the best of both worlds. Happy belated birthday. Enjoy!
Happy Birthday for back early December Brenna xox Can I just say I love watching your videos as you give me inspiration to actually take the plunge and live that life. I currently have my van all packed up ready to go off on an adventure this weekend but crave the day I can do it more full-time. I am the same age as you and I know you mentioned it before about meeting up with some subscribers but if we are ever around the same place I'd love to get together for a chat and so my Alia(female golden retriever) and your Abbey can have a play. Also you have such great advice. That's all. Safe travels
I use wind and willow towels, recycled plastic, easy to wash. I have the ezywash and made a frame and clothes line. From going overland. I have a fiesta beach shelter from snowys outdoor. 4 pegs or a few hands of sand. I use to feel the same now think stuff it.
Happy birthday Brenna - fellow Saggitarian here - I turn 60 in a few days... My hubby too and we are celebrating by quitting our jobs..lol You are so right about caravan parks- we have a caravan and mostly free camp but really enjoy the luxuries of a caravan park to catch up on washing , cleaning etc. I would be interested to hear how you manage internet access on the road?
Happy Birthday! Exercise: "It's harder than it looks" I am exhausted just watching you. I find caravan parks rather uncomfortable because I feel judged by the other inhabitants. I hope to take onboard your assertion that there are no rules. On leaving a rest stop toilet, with my paper under my arm, I thought it might be good to warn the queue of 3 people that there was no toilet paper. The response was "Only idiots don't have there own paper.
The weather in Vic this coming week looks OK. So I check my creek out. 1hr away. If it's OK I take the camper to do some highbanking for gold. To help me get a vehicle. Been thinking about your security, maybe a switch inside, two sirens and flashing light. Also maybe a handheld uhf. Just to scan, or call someone. It just a idea. Russell
