I just got this tent for my tiny camper about 2 months ago and you are not kidding. It is a game changer. So, I use the big plastic clamps to hold the sides up instead of those toggles. I agree, it is the only thing I don't like about it. I also clip the clamps on the sides when I want them to drape down without staking them. I love mine!!!
Hey Karen👋..thanks so much for sharing your Kelty Backroads Shelter hacks!...I have some clamps and will try that for the sides.. just love it💜🏕...thanks Karen!
Awesome! I bet that makes a huge difference. I found an awning for my van on Amazon for 300 but it's a tent instead of an awning. It can be all screens or walls. Pricey but I think it will be so worth it. Happy trails!
Thank you! My very good friend bought me that cool Quicksilver hat!!....Oh wait, that was you!🌊😄 Merry Christmas my long time friend and your 3 beautiful babies!🎄🐾🐾🐾❤️
I have this. Love it. Struggling to get the top secured. I have the suction cups, but I couldn’t figure this out. And yes, the rolled sides are hard to secure.
Hi! This shelter looks like it would be a pain to set up in bad weather--what do you think? (I camp out of my RAV4 hybrid and would like something to give me some room to move around when it rains.)
This Kelty can really handle bad weather well!! I have been in New Mexico with it, set up in very harsh weather and it held up excellent!...Would give you alot of extra room and you would have shelter from the sun & rain!👍
WOW. Am looking for something like this for the side or back of my Honda Odyssey Van. Think this could be IT! Do you pull that teardrop behind that van? Not sure if my van's tranny is rated for pulling anything unless it's really light like a fiberglass teardrop or tiny fiberglass trailer. Subbed!
This would be perfect!👍..Yes I pull this 780lb Tiny Teardrop with my 2002 Honda Odyssey. I did not put a tranny cooler...so far so good..towing for 1 year now!😊..thanks for subscribing!👍🖐😊🐾
I have one, but I haven't used it yet. I love that it is only 12 pounds. Have you had yours up in wind? How did it do? I think I ultimately might want two--one on the back of my squaredrop, and one on the side.
