same. I've never felt so close to her before...its such a strange feeling. My heart goes out to all her family and friends!
@beepbeepbaby8159
@beepbeepbaby8159 3 года назад
Same. I always felt close to her but I feel like I’m understanding her much more now and I think she just felt unloved :( not saying that people didn’t love her, she just didn’t feel it. I wonder if she was words of affirmation. She was also such a sweetheart so she was really dependent on that love expression from others even though she comes off strong she’s really so desperately wanting to feel the love I feel like. And I feel like maybe she was too “nice” to make that her number one priority. So she just suffered through things that made her unhappy. I mean she did come out and say pretty much that on the podcast- not the feeling the love thing but the putting her needs after those of others thing. Where she was kind of doing that to herself though by not advocating for herself, ale hi her she said that too that she realized that. I feel like she just felt the pain of the separation and loss of identity after the ending of that long relationship. For a woman, the ending of a 4 year relationship at the age of 27 is TOUGH because at that age in particular and for women that make figure really replaces your whole family and identity even esp when you’re a sweetheart and codependent and young and don’t fully know yourself and advise care for yourself yet. It was a perfect storm. She was so bright and shiny too that’s what makes it seem crazy that someone so smart and beautiful and knowledgeable and hungry for life and love would take their life- but that’s also what makes it make sense. That someone could be so shiny and want so much but they over prioritize the role of other people in giving them that. Just because that’s how society and life sets young women up to be- it’s an easy trap to fall into to not really be independent and self fulfilling at that age and then you throw a serious relationship into it. That’s why I think those serious relationships ppl have in their 20s often don’t work out. So many people aren’t quite ready then but they spend so many years and share such innocent young love and then the loss of that is the hardest. The whole thing is so damn sad but I have to say I wish she just hung on a little bit longer because I know one she found that final piece of true empowerment she would have been golden. This was literally going to be the hardest time. Because one you have that self love or self fulfillment part nothing is ever as hard. Man it’s so freaking sad.

She was very much into her followers. She responded to everyone. Like what you said ending a 4 year relationship was tough. I struggled for a few years after my divorce and had no one nor did I tell anyone. I just wish she could of seen all of the love we all had for her and not let the terrible people in. 😢

And on cleanliness, the body adjusts to less showers by creating less body oils in the hair and skin. When you wash a lot, you dry your hair and skin out, so the body creates more oil/lipids. When you wash less, it balances out - pretty much like everything. It's similar to a changing metabolism depending on how much you eat and how active you are. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing, I love the vibe of your videos. As a full time vanlifer, I practice guerilla composting whenever I am in nature. I have a tupperware type of container to put my compost in, so it will be airtight and no smells come out. Then whenever I am out in nature, I will put it under a bush for the animals to feed on or for it to compost. In the beginning, I thought I had to plan ahead but by now, I just empty the container regularly and throw everything into the trash if I haven't found a spot where I could put it in nature. Having that seperate container also keeps my main garbage fresh much longer. Looking forward to your video about travelling with a dog. I am a dog lover, but since I travel on my own, I find it too inconvenient and would never want to leave the dog in the van for hours. So I enjoy visiting friends with dogs along the way instead.

Im regards to the composting issue. If youre outside in the countryside I dont really see the issue. It occupies the same category in a way that your 'toilet' does. It will break down in the woods and nourish local flora. I can however understand why it would be an issue in a city.

at home our council has provided composting facilities. They provided all the houses with a gallon lidded bucket which has some sort of membrane in the top. We put a compostable bag inside and it sits in a cupboard under the sink. Never smells - really good system. I wonder if you can adapt this to your lifestyle by just burying the contents in the woods when it's full? Happy camping!

If you guys dig a hole when you're taking a poop, why not just dig a hole in the ground for your compost? If your compost is mainly food waste it's bio degradable and less harmful than any human waste that you leave when you go to the toilet! :) Great video!

Great video, thank you for sharing! You guys should look into going zero waste, it would definitely make your van life experience much more enjoyable. Plus, our planet desperately needs us to make the effort as our future all depend on it. My husband and I are about to leave on a two year trip from Ottawa, Canada to Panama, in our Chevy G20 with our two small chihuahuas. I am looking forward to the next video addressing travelling with a pup. Sending you guys good vibes x

Many thiefs do target trailheads because they know you will be away from your vehicle for awhile and that you might have left your wallet or valuable equipment. My car was broken into at a trailhead and they stole everything I had stowed away in my glove box and trunk. I understand the worry!!

Interesting points on cities. Cities and the people in them are generally garbage. Once you’ve been out of a big city for a few years, you realize how much anxiety urban sprawl and overly artificial, non pedestrian friendly cities are. I imagine this is a much bigger issue in North America than parts of Europe or South America for example, where cities were built around people and markets, not cars and corporations. Beyond enjoying your personalities, I found this video very honest and informative, thanks so much.
@pollyfoofoo8703
@pollyfoofoo8703 5 лет назад
'People in cities are generally garbage'? You will find good and bad everywhere, from cities to rural areas. You can't lump together an entire city population and say they are all 'garbage'. You're being quite unfair.
@solohands8177
@solohands8177 5 лет назад
I totally agree that cities are too traumatic. There exist little moral support as everything is synthetic and driven by capitalising on *another's loss/unfortunately circumstances!* City life is hell... *"Sodom & Gamorrah!"* Possibly any location in which there is an over flux of life size organisms. Societies produce so many petty nuances and time wasting experiences. I suggest for those attempting the transition, gradually attempt road life/off grid... while still living in a cheap rented accommodation as a back up. One could also keep the cheap rented accommodation or just rent a garage and convert it to leaving space!

Composting. In remote areas if you are going into nature to dig a hole for a toilet why not do similar with organics? I was told any organics going into a composting bin decompose quicker if cut up - increased surface area for the microbes. So dice up your organics, walk to an appropriate place, dig a hole 8-10 inches deep and leave a day accumulation of organic matter. While not true composting because it lacks oxygen, the bacteria in the earth will break down the organic matter into usable nutrients.
@MaxLeeandOccy
@MaxLeeandOccy 6 лет назад
Thank you for your advice on the matter :) It is true and reading everyones ideas has pushed us to stop simply wanting to compost and finally making it happen! Soon enough it will feel like a normal part of our daily routine! Thanks again :)

Recycling / compost: I guess, your roof? Roof bars and some kind of aero case for recycling stuff? As for natural material - simply collect it in something and then dump it in vegetation. It's going to biodegrade anyway, so what's the issue?

@deemariedubois4916

Nomadic Pioneer The worms go on top of the compost in a little soil. They eat their way down thru the composting. Also check that it's not getting to hot and dampen occasionally. A small tub would be better so new compost could be put to one side until you transfer your night crawlers over on top of it.

Essentially Crystal that’s seems quite common for ppl in cities and I’d definitely do that too I think. Travelling through other countries is a whole other story though and then you have “make adjustments”. I’m not so sure about using a spade in a jungle, I’d be a bit worried about bitey or stingee things lol but watching this vid of Max, Lee and Occy playing in waterfalls and rivers....why would you even need a shower? Especially if you use the good bio option of liquid Castile soap.

I would say keep food waste in a container with a lid in the freezer but I'm guessing even doing that and putting it in the fridge would be hard and to dispose of it I would think about asking in coffees shops ect if you could add your waste to there recycling but that could take some explaining lol also have you ever thought about contacts the local government or council office if they have drop off points, we have in the uk. Don't feel to bad when you can't recycle because the way you live has far less impact on the environment then living in a 2000sq home already, I like your channel 😀😘

That is a bold but honest question and truthfully when both of us have gone a while without a proper shower we are less inclined to initiate intimacy - how ever in saying that, we have spent a lot of nights under the stars, beside the ocean or otherwise in a beautifully remote location where the opportunity arises and is capitalized on!
