Just watching is exhausting. Amazing you are both staying positive and also noting it is much worse for others in the area. Stay safe! Thoughts go out to those that lost so much during the flooding.
Glad to see you guys are safe. Welcome to summer in Australia, from drought & bushfires to floods. I hope the sun shines on the rest of your journey. Take care
I am glad you guys avoided this disaster! And found an accommodation. I hope you guys will be able to detour and still go around to Queensland now! Best to come around the west for the time being before heading back to the coast again once you reach parts of the tropical coast
Oh wow! Thank God you guys are safe. Thank you for sharing your experience. It must of been really scary. Please stay safe. Sending you blessings your way 🙏🏼❤️
Glad you are safe but despite the difficulties, still able to consider others. Indeed this weather is so unusual and has caused so much loss to so many. Stay safe. 🇦🇺
Glad you are ok, no sure how long this bad weather will last. But don’t give up, van life is such fun to do. Together we get through this hump and in the sunshine again.
I thought the 3-day rain spell ended a week ago? Since then there's been some occasional rain. That's in Qld.. not sure if NSW had it for so much longer?
Really enjoyed your Camino pieces as planning mine for May. Rotten weather to find yourselves in here. Head west and thanks for the shout outs to all the people doing it tough. Its very bad.
@@LisaAndJosh Well now you’re in Noosa! Yay. Lived there 12 years. As a TV producer, can I say your production skills have improved a lot over time! Nice work.
Hello Lisa and Josh, Would you consider? Head due West until you reach the Newell Highway. Turn left, head South until you reach the great river. The Big Strawberry is your talisman.Victoria waits to welcome you. Nice and dry down here. Please stay safe. Thankyou so much for this video
Well done Guys for making it to Coffs Harbour! I honestly thought you'd get stuck before you reached northern NSW. I had a look at the weather forecast for the Queensland coast for next week and unfortunately it's going to rain but hopefully a lot less than what you have experienced so far. If you have the opportunity to end your camper rental early, consider taking a cheap flight from Coolangatta or Brisbane south to Melbourne or Hobart where the weather is nicer although cooler than up north. You might be able to salvage your trip. Keep FNQ for next time when the weather is better usually between May and October. Keep positive and drive safely.
Oh, I’m soooo sorry you’ve been in this situation. The weather has been atrocious! I feel so bad for you after having such a lovely time in Thailand. LaNina has really hit us hard…I’ve never experienced anything like it in my 43 years! Glad you are in Coffs Harbour. Was going to suggest you go there. Take yourself down to The Jetty…there some lovely restaurants and cafes down there. My family all live in Coffs. I’m in Sydney, but heading up to Coffs next weekend. Sawtell is a nice town within Coffs Harbour, or Bellingen in more inland but very pretty. Take care of yourselves and stay safe!🙏
Thank you for the kind message! We are so grateful to be safe here and so saddened to see how extreme the weather has been for everyone living here. Thanks for the suggestions! Enjoy your time with your family!
I dated a girl from Coff's Harbour. Been there. It's a beautiful area - when the weather is good. Some adventures aren't all fun - but they're still adventures. I hope the campervan company is giving you some refund/discount for all the problems. Glad that're you're safe!
Hi Guys, I am one of your Thai subscribers who has lived in Australia 12 years ,, we who watch you have been worried and praying for you in the last few days. The news says this is a one in 1000 years event , we checked all the news feeds today and pretty much everywhere north of Coffs Harbours is much much worse than where you are now. 1000s of homeless people You can get a flight to cairns or anywhere else in Australia from Coffs Harbour , All of us agree you should cut your losses and fly out of that area it is miserable and dangerous. Some Weather channels are predicting rain everyday until August 😳 Please consider our thoughts carefully , we all wish you to be safe.
Thank you for the kind message and prayers. We appreciate the concern. This has been so devastating for the communities who have lost everything. We are definitely reconsidering our next plans and thankful for your advice
You guys are awesome. Have you thought about temporarily going inland a little away from these coastal weather events and visit some inland country towns that are enjoying a run of sunny days. In a week or so hopefully you would get the opportunity to check out the popular coastal towns once it eventually clears. I guess that depends on whatever time constraints you have to complete this leg of your travels however your own safety needs to be paramount. Bless you both, keep smiling, be kind to each other and please take care :)))
Keep focusing on the blessings. So many are suffering. Epidemic>extreme weather events>war...…sending strength and travel blessings. Vans maybe not so much for you guys right?
Glad to see you are able to continue your journey....at this point if you decide to discontinue your trip by van what other options are available to you...
If I was you guys I’d ditch the van, catch a flight to Cairns and instead drive south from there. The rain will all be gone by the time you get back! X
Or head inland and go up via the New England highway via Armidale and Tamworth. Head back to the coast via Toowoomba and Brisbane. It’s beautiful inland and you’ll experience a very different Australia. Feel so bad for you guys as it’s usually amazing this time of year. X
I’ve been looking forward to your ‘drowned rats” video and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a shame you have been caught in the kicking Mother Nature is giving Aussies over being such stubborn climate deniers. At least look on the bright side, the water in your camp area wasn’t deep enough to attract crocodiles, it wasn’t cold and Mother Nature didn’t go with the rampaging bushfire scenario, so your lungs are free of smoke. The countryside is soon going to be ablaze of colour due to abundant water and the wildlife is going to be happy with the resulting lush grass. But that will most likely result in lots of wildlife baby making and thus a mouse plague later in the year (like what overran Western Oz last year). It a shame the kangaroos are stressing Lisa out by deciding to make kamikaze runs near the campervan. She need to work on a better “don’t you dare” death stare. Just remember that when the sun finally comes out, to wear a hat and put on plenty of sunblock as burn times are a lot quicker in Oz than in other countries.
