From Sydney, Australia. Kangaroo meat is probably equivalent to your bison meat.....not everybody would buy it as an everyday protein. You can buy it in the local supermarkets....similar price to beef. Interesting you can find it over in Canada. First time commenting here. Been watching your videos about a year now and thoroughly enjoy them.....one of the best videos to watch. It has everything and your cinematography is on par with the very best and even better than many. I am going back watching your earlier fat bike videos. Keep safe and well. And give Rocko a tummy rub for me.
Scrolled the comments to see if anyone mentioned the kangaroo meat, I was curious. I live in the states. I've had Bison, never tried a kangaroo burger.
Same. I started with Foresty when RU-vid told me about a guy who lived in a van and then watched every video Foresty ever posted. A TL:DR version is basically that "living in a van is better than having room mates that were loud and didn't pick up after themselves and having to pay rent plus the commute" and something went off in my head. Well, I have 3 really young kids so I live vicariously thru Foresty's videos and dream of the day when I can just go... Some of Foresty's videos show, IMHO, the only way a man should live in today's world, if you have the means to afford it...
@@Capecodham Hey "Burt"...I know picking fights to get people to respond increases revenue for you/your friend, but it also chases people away. Hopefully RU-vid will change its payment policy/cies.
That dog will never know or understand just how lucky she is. If Forestry hadn't adopted Rocco, it would just have ended up with a regular family, getting out mostly in the backyard and the occasional walk around the neighbor. Not many dogs get to explore the world and visit mountain tops, rivers, big forests.
Australian here, Kangaroo is fairly common here and you'll find it at most supermarkets, no where near as common as beef, chicken or pork though. When eating it as a fillet it is usually served rare and can be quite delicious
I'm from Australia, Kangaroo meat is usually available from most of our supermarkets and butchers. Although I can say I've never had it in burger form, only steak and sausages.
You’re a sad guy Burt, strange toxic old man, “girly men” are the only ones who enjoy the dog being in the footage? You sound like your parents might have been inbred tbh
I have noticed, from some of the other channels that I follow, that once a channel reaches a certain level of subscribers, that they frequently tend to grow very rapidly in the number of subscribers and views. Probably within the next year (or two) Foresty Forest will probably reach the same level of subscribers and views as Mav's channel. Simon, I watch a lot of different channels, and yours is by far the best and most entertaining channel out there.
Exactly. On my last trip, I was off road for no more than an hour. And a tire went flat. Yeah, so just change it, right? You'll never guess where the key for the security lug nut was.... Yeah - back home.... in Phx..... 200 miles to the south of me. When you live on the road, you are ALWAYS home.
💯NOT a Miracle... NO IDEA how much time, effort and Sacrifice Simon makes to have it all look so easy... it isn't! Thank you for ALL THAT YOU ARE & DO @ForestyForest & for making it seems Possible for the rest of us🙏
Kangaroo is considered a pest here, they're often culled. Not a lot of take-up on the dinner table as the meat tends to be very lean/gamey. Burgers or a medium rare/rare tail is your best bet.
That was an a!mazing shot of that hover fly landing on your finger! Yeah, I can relate to Rocko, I don't want anyone taking a dump just outside my home either!
I like the ramble jamble style of this one, feels like I experienced more. Cool how that little bee landed on your fingertip. And watch out for birds of prey, Rocco isn't very heavy.
Roo is good, but it’s a bit lean for me. Props for going to the lengths with the egg and beetroot though! I left oz 20 years ago, roo was usually available without too much effort but it’s an acquired taste for many.
Kangaroo steak is available in the larger stores. Not eaten very often in my sphere. Should be more popular as some of the kangaroos are too prolific and need culling.
That bear told Rocko what he thought of her barking😁. I saw Mav's new ride too, pretty sweet. Sorry to hear about your van damage. That jump across the river holding onto Rocko was amazing.💪
Thank you for showing me so many beautiful mountain summits. I can’t get out of the house much but your videos really help! Rocco was way too cute while you were making her food and she was sleeping under the covers. ❤️🐾🐾 I think black bears are so beautiful. I’m glad you got to see it I’m sure it’s not your first.
In Australia we don’t see Kangaroo meat much in the city supermarkets, but it’s available through certain butchers. Some people prefer it as a source of protein because it’s much more environmentally friendly than beef. It’s also much leaner, and typically made into roo patties. Very surprised indeed to see it on the shelves in Canada. The food miles 😦.
Your videos are so entertaining! You are a man of many talents and abilities. The clip of you jumping across that raging river with Rocco was amazing! Thank you for sharing your breathtaking adventures.
Great shot of you holding Rocco jumping over the river. No sure about the marsupial burgers 🍔. I did pet a Kangaroo at the San Diego Zoo and their fur is like that of a rabbit so soft.
Rocko has stolen my heart, and your show! 😄😊☺ You'll have to really hustle to keep up with her. You have to struggle up the sides of mountains, while all she has to do is roll in the dirt to get her 👏👏👏 and 👍👍👍 and 💓💞💗. 😊😁😄😉
Hope the high temp silicone works. Maybe just go OEM on the brake pads in the future. Loved the bear taking a 💩 at the end. Always enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work.
Love that you’re a fellow Mav viewer, if his video didn’t pop up on your recommended! Always love catching up with you and Rocco, virtually 😎. All the best brother, and sister 🐶!
8:12 So the roo should give you 'a little extra spring in your step'. Ha ha ha, caught that. That's also what keeps us waiting for your next video besides the great shots.
And a man's man can climb a mountain or two in a day, fix a broken van, prepare a meal, chop wood, clear a trail, use a sewing machine and, oh yes, he can love his dog! I've been watching Foresty way, way before he even thought about getting Rocko.
Foresty Forest, I’m always looking for your updated videos on your adventures with Rocko! When you think of the law of averages for having mishaps & being able to handle whatever comes along, you do Al right! Thank you for sharing your life with us! God Bless!
Living in Australia , we don't eat Kangaroo very often , I don't like the smell it makes while being cooked . It may become a lot more prominent as a food if things go the way some are predicting with food in the future .
Glad it wasn't anything major with your rig. Yeah, try as I might to keep my rig nice 💩 happens. Seems I'm constantly working on her. Wish I had my late husband's skills with engines and suspension systems, though as those get spendy. Better yet, wish I still had him, ❤️. Rocko is such a joy to watch. My pup and senior cat make life worth living. Happy travels, Foresty. 💕
Love Rocco…..she seems so content, and so confident….we have an 8 year old male JRT called Fonzi…..short for Alfonso , best companion you will ever have, they are fearless small dogs, nothing with faze them…..👍🇮🇲💪🐶
@@Capecodham butt out burt , I noticed you copied this message to every reply that mentioned Rocco, you are a sad man, go twiddle you’re knobs and leave us to decide who we subscribe to
Rocco is living a dogs dream life. I love backpacking with my little hound mix Maggie. We just got off a 100 mile hike in Vermont and I can tell she just wants to get back to the trial. I am retired so that will be soon. She loves the forest as does her human. Take care
When something is broken and you go to the garage, then it is called repairs, not service. Love your channel and your presentation. You and Chrome are my regular channels.
Your videos are so appreciated. The most anticipated van life video of the week!! I said this last week but it’s worth repeating… not sure what you’re teaching Rocco but as a pet owner I feel I need to up my game. 😊 She is amazing and a perfect match for your high energy level. Have fun. And thanks for answering that age ole question about where a bear 💩
You could also try liquid electrical tape they make it and it works well with sealing things like that. I used it on my atv winch connections and they have gotten soaked and still work great.
Kangaroo is readily available in most big grocery stores in Australia, but not as commonly eaten as beef, pork, lamb, or chicken. I do eat it on occasion (I have a couple of steaks in the freezer, and also like to make meat pies with roo.) I do find left over cooked roo steaks and burgers have an increased "gamey" flavour. My local butcher also sells emu, crocodile, water buffalo, and camel.
Beautiful drone shots as always! There’s a hot dog place in Chicago that has every kind of animal to offer. Depends where you live & what you’re used to. That did look delicious! Thanks for bringing us along with you Foresty! Hugs & love to you and Rocko!!❤️❤️
Rocco did very well on the leash very nice . it is a good thing that you can fix some things yourself on the vehicle saves money , sorry to hear that you may have electrical issue that sucks . Gorgeous trail and summit beautiful waterfall. thanks for another awesome video
Hello from Tasmania, Australia. Yeah kangaroo meat is available at most supermarkets in Australia but not as popular as beef or lamb. My sister in law always buys some when she visits from Germany and loves it, certainly plenty of them around here to eat that's for sure.
I enjoy watching all the beautiful scenery you film but nothing brought a smile to my face quicker than seeing Rocko romping around with a canine buddy in that dog park. She looked like she was having a ball! BTW, I think the days are very quickly coming to an end when you can tuck her into your jacket or backpack. She has already grown a lot since you first got her.
Great episode Foresty and Roco! My son orders from Rock Auto as well from the Okanagan. He highly recommends them and fixes vehicles for our extended families 🛻🚙🚘🚗🚚🚛🚜🚤🚕🚐
Your 'Ozzie burger' was more Australian than the ones in Australia lol. Love the wild life content too. Bears are fascinating me, at present. Our 'drop bears' i.e. koala would make a more eucalyptus flavoured burger ( just kidding). That goat lit up the background and the bee was adorable. The bear taking a dump got a giggle😄
