Is that a veiled way of saying to anyone who will listen on this comment section that 90% of "Young Men" out there put "no heart" in anything they do and as such are useless morons to humanity, society, and the World? If that sounds super-sarcastic, it is. I grew up in this very region, Western Canada, where this Ontario Guy called F.F. does all his "amazing adventures" and all I got "from society" in my teen years of being an above average student who never got into trouble, helped out around the house and was raised in a single-parent severely dysfunctional family was what a stupid ass I was for being a young white male, I even got that in many towns in this region simply for carrying a backpack down the street which was seen as some sort of statement by most people of me trying to be a "tough guy" and an "outcast of society" by hiking in the wilderness, which was one of the few things that gave me an escape from all the malarky I got from humanity, society, and Canadian Culture as well as the real "tough guy" punks who hung around street corners in groups, started smoking at age 15 to seem "mature" and were lucky if they got a "C" average in school, not to mention motorcycle leather-clad tough-guy "bikers" who infest British Columbia highways today and whom almost no-one dares stand up to. When I first started serious overnight hiking in this region as a 20-something, people used to yell at me in public, such as on side road access routes to trail heads which I had to walk cause I had no vehicle even though I worked my butt off for cheap wages in the local tourism industry just to be close to the mountains and the wilderness, or the public (mostly tourists) would laugh at me or threaten me in parking lots at such famous places as Moraine Lake or Lake Louise as if I was some kind of "nut" for walking up a trail, which in THEIR opinion, meant I was trying to be some sort of "social outcast tough guy" cause I had a 10 kg / 25 pound pack on my back, and was always clean, calm, neatly-dressed and polite, and no-one ever wore tattoos in those days all over their arms and I still never would to this day. As a 25 year old I went on 3 week hikes covering 150 km / 100 miles in these mountains on the trail networks but I didn't dare tell anyone other than fellow hikers about it cause I would have been laughed at by most people as if I was an Asylum Case or threatened like I was a Terrorist, such was how nearly everyone viewed adventuring in the mountains in this region back in those days, the 1970's and 1980's. And then, many, many years later, I see all these countless ADORING COMMENTS from all these anonymous people ALL OVER THE WORLD about how "amazing, remarkable, and what "incredible personality traits" this "unbelievable" F.F. has............ Pardon me for being so bitter, but it is quite sickening on how many people come out of the "woodwork" (slang term for hidden society) all over the World on this internet to coo and swoon over this guy when he is NEITHER the FIRST NOR the ONLY person to hike, climb, and ski Western Canada, or the Western USA or the Alps or the Andes or the Himalayas or where-ever for that matter. He is about the ONE MILLIONTH of people of all abilities, and that is just a generalized guess. I decided at random to choose your comment to make this highly justified "rant" or "tirade" because your comment had 300 likes and is a typical F.F. "adoring comment" from the legions of "adoring F.F. Fans" somewhere anonymously way beyond Western Canada, or any of the World's mountain regions for that matter. I also chose this video because "Jumbo Wild" is one of the most recent environmental preservation success stories of dozens of years-long and desperately hard-fought environmental success stories in this region in the past 50 years but everyone's YT hero for this region, Ontario native F.F. AKA Simon NEVER says anything about that in his videos, all he talks about half the time is his stupid "crock-pot" like it is the most important thing that ever existed in the World, and many of his fans sitting in their comfy homes and living their mundane ordinary lives around the English-speaking Nations of the World seem to agree......

@@davidmarshall718 and what is your point. Are you mad that you didn't think of it first. It's entertainment if you don't like the footage or his content don't watch it. I don't care if he is rich. I like his work and more power to him. We have to make a living and if this what he likes so be it. More power to him it's his time and effort that makes it work for him and for the people who watch and enjoy his work. Life goes on good or bad life keeps moving even when we die. Just enjoy your life.

@davidmarshall718 2 года назад
@@jayhom449 --- You are right. It "IS" entertainment. I am not bitter that I did not think of it first because I am nor longer able to go on marathon treks to mountain tops, and it has taken me a few years to understand YT and its "audiences and monetization" anyway. I am bitter that so many people adore him like a rock star because of his supposed "good attitudes" which are not unique in the General World and definitely NOT unique in the Mountaineering / Hiking World. I am bitter at how many people swoon and croon over him simply because all he does is cook, work on his van, climb mountains and incessantly "male giggle" when he does it........... and they say they have never seen such a "good, genuine attitude". Makes me wonder what most of the rest of humanity is like beyond these mountains, although I do travel occasionally elsewhere, but I am careful what I watch on YT. I also think he could do a LOT more to promote or present important issues of British Columbia and Alberta related to what he does and what he presents on his videos, like environmental preservation or the attempts to halt the massive deforestation in the past century that has occured from all those logging roads he travels, as he is now the most famous RU-vidr from this region.

@@davidmarshall718 It could be that most of the people cannot get out or hoping that one day they can do what he does. Maybe people have to many obligations or financial stuck where their at. And FF is their way out and hoping one day they can do the same. The climbing that he does in the mountains in the cold and snowy terrain is great for him. Me myself I would never do, can't stand the cold. But I do like the videos footage that he shows. Back in my days we were like to have a Kodak movie camara to see the sites to remember and share. Now days l am more of Ural desert 🏜 rat take my motorcycle and ride all over the place. FF maybe known and be famous on YT for what he is doing and showing on his YT channel, but he doesn't need to tell people to be a conservationist it's not his job. He does make people aware because he plants the seed in peoples brains on the beautiful areas where he has been. So if people see the need to protect the areas they will hopefully do something. You and I and many other people know it is not a easy thing on what he is doing but for the 15 minutes or so he makes it look likes fun. So that is entertainment in my book.

In reality, this is called "scrambling" which is hiking / trekking where the hands are used to assist on short and steep but not vertical sections. It is a personal judgement call as whether to use a rope anchored to the rock for safety, but that is difficult to do when going solo. True climbing is where a person should use a special rope for safety, various specially made metal anchors to attach the rope to the rock, and skilled, competent and trusted companions to belay you, that is, secure the rope if you fall. True climbing has been developed since the early 1800's in the World's mountain regions into a highly technical art and science today, with equipment to match. Hundreds of books have been written on it techniques, and hundreds more on its history. What you see here is at the extreme limit of scrambling.

I always thought that the shapes and formations and colour contrasts you see in some Canadian landscape art were interpretive but they aren't. These rocks and mountains and trees really look like that, all bold jagged lines and blocks of colour, it almost looks like a painting but it's real. It's incredible. I feel like this was the toughest climb ever. Has nothing to do with 'hiking', at least when you're up to the final 1-2 hours of the climb. Please make sure you pay really close attention to when a hike turns into a serious climb. Cause thats a whole different story safety-wise. One lose rock could mean a dislocated shoulder or a broken leg - which is going to be seriously life threatening out there solo. I admire your passion and bravery, but this video was partially way over 'challenging', rather beyond 'too risky' already at times... Man, stay safe, stay healthy 👍🍀

I admire your determination Foresty! When you don’t succeed the first time you never gave up, kept at it and tried new avenues! And for that you have a yummy looking cheesy pizza! Also good job reaching the summit of Jumbo Mountain.

I have done a bit of mountaineering and man this video made me nervous more than any of your others. But it's obvious you know when to turn around and say no so keep it up. I don't know anyone who would have tried three times. That says a lot about you. On another note, I am tired of seeing you sitting on a rock and want to buy you a folding camping chair!

This is what happens when you threaten the corrupt swamp. Trump has done incredible things for the US. No wars, energy independence, prison reform, school choice, deregulation, stopping China from becoming the next superpower, lowest unemployment in blacks EVER, lowest unemployment in Hispanics EVER, skyrocketing black and female entrepreneurship, North Korea settled down, Syria settled down, Iran settled down, ISIS severely beaten back, historic Middle East peace agreements, fighting human/child trafficking, securing the southern border against drugs, guns, gangs, human traffickers, and illegals that take jobs away from Black and Hispanic citizens.
