Van Life - Preparing for COVID 19 

Hi Bob what's going on Great video I hope your safe and away from all the Insanity of the city

My husband and I are 22 and live on our sailboat, sailing the world (pretty similar to van life). Right now we are in southern California on land painting the boat as well as doing some other projects. The Corona virus effected us in a few ways but the two biggest issues for us are that some of our parts from Europe are delayed in shipping and the boatyard closed which means when we are ready to splash... they may not be here! In addition we have been hit with a solid week of rain which has made work difficult. We are managing, but man oh man when it rains it POURS! We are remaining positive, distracting ourselves with good videos (like yours) and hey, at least this chaos will make a good blog/vlog post for us! Sheesh! Cheers and fair winds!

All the best Bob. Glad to see you are considering the options. Many van dwellers are taking a gung ho approach which could backfire. Options that could be considered are putting all non essential kit into storage to allow more food and water to be carried. Identifying in advance where you will park if you become ill. Where is best to park up so you can minimise distance travelled between food, water and fuel. If money allows fill up and stock up to capacity to reduce the need to expose yourself to risk. Use steam to sanitise cloths etc if disposable wipes are not available. Wipe down door handles, credit cards etc after use with a cloth soaked in a disinfectant. Just things off the top of my head. Stay safe. 👍

Hey Bob did you get your recall letter on your van yet? I got mine last week and I called the 800 number and got on a list for them to contact me when the parts are available. I spoke with one adVanture at a time which is a another RU-vid channel , They said they took their van in and was told there is to recall letters one pertaining to the cable for the shifter to the transmission and the other is for the cooling fan, me personally I have only received the letter regarding the cable shifter

I'm the same Bob I prepared about 2 weeks ago although I'm in the UK the supply chain may break down due to illness

Oh Bob pls be careful. I’m sure ur daughters are worried for you. Keep hands clean, stay 3-4 ft away from contact with ppl. We r still in Florida, my Dad is 93 so I’m trying to work things out to stay here awhile longer. He refuses to come home with us. I’m continuing to 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. For all of us. I have faith this will not last long or become worse. God Bless Bob!!
