The cow bells originated from the days when cows roamed free. The farmers put bells on them so they wouldnt loose them.

It is for their own safety. Because the weather here in Switzerland can drastically change in mountain areas. Every cow bell has a different sound. So if a cow gets hurt, lost or whatever. The farmer hears that cow's bell and knows it is Blossom or.... Then a helicopter is sent out to lift the cow by air to safety. We respect cows here in Switzerland.

Awe, my wife and I send you guys big hugs as my wife wipes tears of happiness and sadness as we watched your vlog. You've done something wonderful. It's so hard letting pups go. We've taken in a a Boston terrier/pug named 'zen' recently and he's a real delight. our pug who is also names 'milo' passed away in 2014. Such a kindred spirit Milo is.

The views of the Swiss mountains are truly breathtaking. Wish I’d told my first husband to bog off and just travelled by myself! In my 60’s with disability so watching you guys is now the closest I’ll get. But I’m very grateful to do so this way. Love you guys and Custard the bus so much!! A little explanation on why you have to pay when you get into Switzerland by car! Unlike countries like Italy and France, there are no tolls in Switzerland, so if you go in by car you need to pay a fee and stick the sticker to your windshield. That will be valid until the end of the physical year(December 31st, 2019 in this case), so if you plan to go to Switzerland more than once, maybe it's better if you go at the beginning of the year so you don't have to pay for the whole remaining time of the year!

This is totally wrong in the case of Custard. The van is over 3.5 tonne so you have to pay for each day you use a motorway. I assume your class caused you to be charge what you were. I have a vario and have been exactly to the same places even the campsite with the waterfall right next to it. If you understand the toll system properly and if you Vario is still registered as commercial then you pay around 40 chf's for 10 days you use a motorway. Those 10 days are valid for 12 months but you have to fill in the form of the days you use it. You do not pay on the days you use normal roads!

Loving your European tour! And it's fun to see Switzerland through your eyes! CHF as a designation for the money in Switzerland stands for "Confederatio Helvetica Franken (Francs)" CH is the latin term for the country. Also, to answer your question as to why the cows wear bells, it is so that the farmers can locate their cows in the Alps if the herd spreads out, or their grazing fields cover several ranges.

The Vario was the first bus we went to see and it was a shambles 😂 so funny!! The doors flung open while we were test driving it 🤣 I was howling! I filmed it too! If I muster up the courage to post it, I'll tag you to give you a laff!! We now have a LWB Master Bus and are (slowly!!) converting it! Absolutely loved this one! I'm a recent subscriber and am making my way through your videos. I loved the funicular -- definitely going on my bucket list. There's a similar one in the Blue Mountains in Australia, which has a 52 degree angle slope, making it the steepest railway in the world. I got to ride it a few years ago and it's so steep that there's pads on the back of the seat in front of you, to cushion your needs when you inevitably slide forward. I recommend it if you ever get the chance!
