We’re Marianne and Chris, a married couple from the UK. After some life changing events we decided that life was just too short. We sold all our belongings, bought an old Campervan & rented our house to travel full time. The aim is to attempt to visit every country in the world in either our van or with a backpack. We started videoing our travels for our family and then decided it was a wonderful way to document and share our adventures.
Our latest adventure started in January 2020 when we left the UK in an attempt to drive our van all the way around the world. Let the adventures continue.

Hi Sandra - I have to say ... I have not seen any cruelty to the animals here just lots of them that live out, there are lots of places for them to sleep and the weather here is kinder so they are not cold, unlike lots of pets in the UK that are at 'home' all day, they run in groups and have street families of dogs that hang out and everyone feeds them in towns, but there is the odd one that is more out of a 'built up area' that gets a bit skinny when the tourists are not on the beaches ... But having rescued more than 4 dogs, I am aware of the situation and cruelty cases that we have in the UK. So giving a good meal and joining in the love of the street animal community I am happy - ps having been in touch with a rescue centre to rehome Korona (the cat that moved into Trudy during the first lockdown) we know a great rescue centre if we found any animal in trouble. best wishes and I hope that puts your mind to rest xx Marianne xx

I have so enjoyed your travels. I have a home in cunda turkey. I'm American and my husband is Turkish. I've been taking my kids to turkey since they were 6 months old. We all love Turkey so much. My Turkish family is amazing.. watching this in America makes me a little less home sick for seeing them again . InshaAllah soon. Thank you both for filming this it has helped my spirit through this long year.

Similar story 🧿 I met my husband in Turkey when I was a holiday rep for a British company, I was the only American employee at the time. We have now been married and living in USA for 20 years. Watching these videos makes me wonder if maybe we should plan to retire in Turkey 🇹🇷 in the future. Covid has forced us to reevaluate life’s priorities.

I think you need to make changes in your sleep area - as you mentioned in the other video about 9 things you hate : maybe move to sleep the other way and move the shelf - great mattress however; hope it helps your back Chris. And isn’t Levent lovely so welcoming and helpful xxxx

A good nights sleep just sets you up for the day ahead, and if you are prone to back issues then they shouldn't be compromised in you van. Only took us 6 months to upgrade our mattress and what a difference.!

What I’d give to walk along that Gulpinar Road. The river terrace restaurant has one of the best views in Dalyan and homemade cake too

Oooh, the new mattress looks *literally* posh as cushions!!! 😮😮😮 And fits like a hand in a glove! May it work a treat for Mr. Fisher's back. The heroes at Su Marine come through again! The overhead cabinet is the new challenge now. Maybe some temporary foam padding to protect Marianne's forehead? 😉 Been a while since we've seen Marianne showing off her driving skills! Backing in with what looked like millimeters to spare had my full attention, and watching you give Trudy the full beans put a smile on my face. Have you seen the animated movie "Bolt" from a dozen years ago? There's a scene where a cat teaches a dog how to beg for food at a caravan park. I think Turkish dogs get similar training when the become community animals! 😆😆 Very effective! Love from Mrs. P! ❤❤😎👍xx

So pleased the new mattress was a good fit, I’d give anything for 15 degrees at the moment! But saying that we have been forecast 21 for this Tuesday for one day only then back to low temperatures! Lockdown eases for us tomorrow woohoo 🙌

They are dogs that have been spayed or neutered and registered with the local area - if you see a dog in Turkey in trouble the government will collect and help 💐🐶

This photo stuff would cost you like 30 tl in somewhere like istanbul but As you can see there isnt much photoshop in Dalyan Or Fethiye Thats why they are a bit expensive

I always wanted to adopt a dog from Turkey as a Turkish person living in UK, but UK custom is very restrict about animals. There are tonnes of fees to b paid and a long quarantine for dogs.

I think it is very tricky because there are so many dogs already in the UK that need homes :( But I understand why you would want to adopt one from here ... we love them too xx M

@@TREADtheglobe I think in general British community looks after their dogs. I have not seen any stray dogs and I think the ones in shelters are also having a decent life (relatively). It is heartbreaking to see thousands of stray dogs in Turkey, which are in need of home, love, food and basic care. I am happy that you help them with your love and food whenever you see any nearby your Trudy. Thank you
