How beautiful are theses ladies. Not caked in makeup no ridiculous lash extensions, tattoos, Botox , big lips etc. This is the era I grew up in and I loved it. ❤
In an episode of 'Porridge', Ronnie Barker/Fletcher looked at a newspaper picture of one of these ladies and said, "Beautiful Babs!... I wonder what her name is?"
Oh yes, me also. But I have to be annoying where decades overlap! Early 60's to early 70's. After '73, 74 things incl fashion began to go downhill. Fast!
I agreed with those who say, this was the era where young women were modestly feminine, had long shiny hair, clean velvet skin, no tattoos, no piercing, and no fake boobs... thank GOD, I am once part of that era... nice to recall those precious memories in our time.
This is just a few years shy of the punk rock movement. People were still finding ways to experiment with their appearance back then, so let's not pretend that all women looked like these dancers Plus, plastic surgery still existed. It just wasn't as prevalent as it is today. Even marilyn and Rita haywood had some work done.
Yeah, and they couldn't open their own bank accounts either... what a time to be alive for women right? Thank GOD women are actually treated like people in our country now.
@@Fufuwasher I do know my Grandmother had a Rural Bank account for farmers before WWII broke out... in those days, women were more religious and conservative in the way they talked/spoke and dressed up properly in modesty... they were highly treated with honor, respect and with dignity... Men and boys gave up easily their seats rather to see women, pregnant or with child, both young and old standing in the busses, trains, or even in the waiting areas... Sorry... but I really did not see your claim to be TRUE... More Women today are more liberated, who often had Pre-marital Sex or Fornication, and many do not believe in God (Divine Creator) anymore (as Atheist)...
Pans People were the dancers on Top of the Pops from the late 60's to the mid 70's. In order of appearance in this video Louise Clarke, Babs Lord, Dee Dee Wilde, Cherry Gillespie and Ruth Pearson. They were compulsory viewing for men of all ages, and still occupy a special place in many middle aged men's hearts! Thank you ladies!

Coreographer ; And Yes 'Pans People' to be rostered on that Programme was to me , just great fun , back in the 60s/70s , mixing with them in the Tea Bar outside of the Studio was great ; All very casual and friendly , as in them days we used Sugar in our Hot Drinks , so asking a Celeb to kindly 'please pass the sugar' wa a fairly normal daily routine ; Yea Memories ah
Hard to believe, but, back then, WE THOUGHT LIVING IN THE 70'S SUCKED!!! God, what I'd give now to go back!!! I remember our elementary school PE teacher teaching our class to dance The Hustle to this tune back then when I was like 8 or 9.
@@Stormy-pe2xc I was 14 in 1979. Yes, in hindsight I loved 1977 too, but cannot say it was my favourite year. I was only 12. We simply like those years because we were young.

I grow up to this Music in 70thies. Van Mccoy. My father played it often, when he came home from his business trips in England on Fridays! My mother picked him up at the airport and when entering our house I had already pulled up a Scotch Whiskey. I was 12..Old memories with this song!
I remember Pans people & legs & co were this highlight of my teenage years, slim beautiful girls with no ugly tattoos or face piercings dancing for our enjoyment. 🥰

@Trixie K Tricia, ah yes, my old mark 2 Ford Cortina 1600E, working 3 day weeks as a welder because I wanted to feed my family, watching chip fat congeal around my chips, because the electric had been cut again, 3 day week! NHS was 20 odd years old by then, but people were still dying from things that are curable today, nuclear war threat, but no climate change fear. Rubbish all strewn over the roads, especially London, however, there was always pans people to enjoy. Yes, these were the days alright.
Same here; I ended up buying everything related to Van McCoy I could find over the years. As for these lovely ladies and their dancing, cannot get enough of course!

I've heard from people older than myself this was a fun time and a short time, I was only 7 when this came out and already a queen and kiss fan, couldnt understand the big deal with disco
And they were never dancing the " hustle " ! but so what, the prime time of my life. This song brings back memories like it was yesterday. I'm 69 now but with this song forever young. My funeral song to lift the gloom.
In my teens and early 20s in the 70s, yes hair was fabulous. Hair was out. That also was back before women dye their hair at younger ages, so differently more natural.
Why do people feel the need to correct or contradict other people’s comments? It’s a rather sad and pathetic life they must lead in which they get some sort of sick joy or dopamine rush from thinking they’ve caught someone in a mistake or misquote over something as benign and ubiquitous as what decade they were listening to a disco tune. I remember this song being played all through the 80’s on Saturday nights at the Roller Rink. That doesn’t mean I think the song wasn’t released until 1980, it simply means that’s when and where I heard it the most often. It’s 2021 and I’m still listening to it on RU-vid as well as on a radio station in the U.K. via the Internet. And no I don’t believe it to be a new release lol Why don’t people just leave things alone here on RU-vid and use their energy and time to keep track of how many times a day the politicians in Washington DC tell a lie. @Trixie K Most "music" - regardless of the era - is forgettable. While the 60's 70's and 80's produced some of the best music, there was much that was crap. The demise started in the early 1990's when "music" could be made using computer-generated sounds and compositions. The ability to play an instrument then became optional. Today, this is combined with autotune and fake vocalisations. I studied classical piano for 13 years (from age 5 to age 18) and played in many bands (nothing fancy - just did weddings and corporate functions) but we had to know how to play, how to read music, and the singers needed to have good voices. Add up all the music ever made - and you still end up with the majority of it being crap.

They would look a little e crinkled as indeed I do as I was from this era too making pop musicals and we all knew that creep was creeping around the boys and girls...his flunkies collected them and delivered them to his dressing room but nobody - BBC or Shepherds Bush Police Station would intervene but thy were all a rather 'Royale' lot...
@@thegreenmanalishiyamadori371 The song came out in 1975 and I was 18 years old, I am now in my low 60's so I don't think they are in their 80's, high 60's maybe or early 70's...just saying.
O M G what more can I say about this video? When I see this in the links next to the RU-vid videos I can't pass it up but have to play it once again. I read that a couple of these beautiful Ladies have passed on into the GREAT BEYOND where they are teaching those Angles those beautiful steps before the Throne of God.
