When this song first came out I was 14 15 - i was a jeans and corduroy kid mixed with surfer baggies and earth shoes style closet disco lover. I remember later clubbing in Ft. Lauderdale with really long hair, rose colored glasses, corduroys or jeans and maybe just maybe a polyester shirt. The disco guys couldn’t believe the moves I had and didn’t like that i had all the chicks dancing with me. Awwww the fun i had to this song and lots more.

I'd give up my iPhone and all social media if we could all dance worldwide in peace to this piece of magic.

My grandpa introduced me to this song in his 64 Chevy radiobox in Mexico I was 8 during the summer of 2010 Right when Van says "Do the Hustle" I immediately jump in the dance floor and freely tap dancing and jumping around And listening to this now made me think of him and my childhood Rest in Paradise abuelo

You already know. Back in the day when we played our music on our stereo and danced and did the hustle all across the floor mann, I thank God for creating me to live in that Era. This was really the one that started the Disco Movement together with KC & The Sunshine Band. KC actually has great respect for the Black Music of the day that time and hired George McCrae to sing his composition Rock Me Baby coz the pitch was too high for him to sing it! Van McCoy was gone too soon! Couldn't believe the news he passed @ 35? He was at his peak when it happened. The guy could've made more superhits had he lived more, no question. He made the best arrangements for the backtrack of Stylistics songs. RIP - 🎵🎶Goodnight Baby 🎶🎵

This was it. This was the epitome of Disco. When we would go to the clubs to dance we would recognize this song from the very first note, we'd jump up from our seats, run to the dance floor and in pure harmony would do the greatest dance ever also called The Hustle, god, I miss those days so much.

I still long for those halcyon days of disco and the beautiful dance music that everyone just had to get on the floor to and let it rip. What a wonderful time we experienced but only those of us that lived through it can really appreciate. As time passes by so swiftly and we reminisce on those days, all I can say is that I was privileged to have lived those times to the hilt.
