That entire band is as tight as you can get…..wonderful song . Amazing backup singers, smoothest lead that I have ever heard, great band, and a man singing with soul written all over it….thank you Van Morrison for a great song…..
We are the dancers dancing over the ocean 🌊 and its a very, very, very ,very warm, loving, kind of dance we are doing Van used to have soul but now he's turned into it.Our shoes are off 💙 💜 Love to you Van Morrison.Thank you 😘
Thank you Van Morrison for sharing your amazing talent with us. I'm 77 next month and he excites me so!!!! Love everything about him!!! Here comes the Man!!!! ❤
Van Morrison takes you to a higher plane with his singing no matter where you are. No one comes close. Feel lucky to be able to appreciate him and music.
I feel for those who don't realize how great and special he is. Love him since I can remember. I'm 63 now, so blessed to have enjoyed the brilliance of this man for all of these years.
The brilliance of this Man comes from his ability to be absolutely present within his music as he performs it. In this clip, he's up there having a great time relating to the same lyrics he must have sung a thousand times. No two versions would sound exactly the same because, in the space he's created within his music, he responds in the moment to the energy he feels within himself, from the audience and from musicians around him. Truly gifted.
absolutely. He lives the music. he is the music. you cannot separate him from the music. Music at it's most powerful. at it's most meaningful. At it's best.
Hmm Van was on the music scene when I was in my mid teens I ‘m 70 now and I’m always searching for him surely I’m not the only one, he deserves more recognition
I'm no great orator so the best I can say is that Van and his music takes me off to a spiritual plane, to a place of pure musical and spiritual joy and enlightenment. This performance is sublime.
Without question the king of blue eyed soul and I'm black I'm not easily impressed with white singers that try to have soul but Van knows what time it is he's right on the mark since you like Van give a listen to Big Joe Turner he's one of the singer that Van gave a listen to check out TV MAMA it will blow your mind!!!!
@@johnfulton4061 I believe the two did some duets together that were really good. Once in a while Van does Lay Lady Lay or one of Dylan's work. I believe they have mutual admiration for one another. Doesn't he also write all the music?
@@jschuler53 both of these gentleman are so gifted I think Dylan is probably a slightly better songwriter his songs are a little more thought provoking and I'm not just talking about social issues Van is also a hell of a songwriter he is also in my opinion a better singer and musician he does so many genres of music I'm a Black American and I think that black people are a lot harder to impress than whites because it is an integral part of culture and it goes deep because of what we have endured and sadly continue to endure in this country Van Morrison knocks me out his voice just good wine just gets better with age sometimes when I'm listening to him after a martini or two I shout out just like he's there SING IT MOTHERFUCKER SING THAT SONG!!!
He’s a master at putting together his ensemble, showing his respect as they perform. He brings daily uplifting of my 81 year old, newly widowed spirit. It just is.
Warm greetings from Norway, we all love this Celtic man with his power and emotion, moving our hearts with every song, keep safe and positive with all the good memories, God bless, Alex.
Van has stood the test of time. Long after he's gone people will still be enjoying these wonderful works. His music is pure, original, and a gift we should all be grateful to have. This song in particular is beyond amazing.
Van Morrison was the musical love of my life. He has been a constant in my life since Them and Gloria. My kids grew up with him and can recognize his voice anywhere. My daughter is a huge fan.
Man this is sheer brilliance - Van at his very best. The way the band - all in one smooth synchronisation - go up and down, slow and fast - just sheer brilliance. Van is the only musician know who uses his voice as an instrument. May you keep going for a very long time Mr Van!!
Viewing this took me on a journey from a place of darkness to a place of light; blessings to Mr. Van Morrison- you’ve always had a special place in my soul - mike
this is truly and most honestly one of the greatest songs ever composed and recorded in modern times in the English language....the original Astral Weeks version has had me levitating for almost 50 years.
Van the man sent me a reply. He said thanks for your goodwill, much appreciated, heard you were heading for a fall, all you got to do is ring the bell and I'll be there to help your pain
Moondance was my introduction to the mighty Van and I’ve backtracked thru Astral Weeks etc and thru to Them and I’ve still listening to him going to work
@@huwking-jones4957 My husband played a decent guitar and would play Van endlessly to copy. He couldn’t sing a lick but he could sure play a decent cover.
Once, years ago, I lay on a Spanish beach, just looking up at the beautiful blue sky and listening to this album on my headphones, totally alone, feeling really nicely stoned - except I hadn't smoked anything!
That is a perfect line all his songs make me happy even when there. Not supposed too.. too much confusion in the world help me understand the man is a genius......... as the ships go by ...by.... by...... by
Whew. He is a writer and performer extraordinaire. Last I saw him was the Berkeley Auditorium at UC. The Hollywood Bowl is another story. So good. Astral Weeks , so glad to know it.
Words cannot express how much I love Van the Man!! This music always brings me back to the happiest time of my life. Thanks Van for sharing your genius with the world.
I count myself exceptionally fortunate to have had the pleasure of listening to the great man almost all my life and now in my 64 year I find great solace in his music.
I love Sir Van Morrison he is one of the few legends that I have to say his voice gets better with age don't get me wrong his vocal delivery as a young man on every level that you can evaluate a singer was amazing but this man just continues to blow my mind not just as a singer but also as songwriter and as a musician I've always felt that Van at least in America is a bit underrated
He knocks me out I love him he has a new cd coming out this March of skiffle music but he's infusing some blues into it something that Van has in common with another one of my favorite artists Dolly Parton is that he is a senior that puts these young artists to SHAME neither one of them are resting on their laurels and cosistantly put out amazing work and do great things on regular basis
I take cds out, then turnaround and put them right back in🤔 Why did I take them out in first place?🥜 I guess! I hope & pray that I can see him someday! I live in Michigan and work a job at a warehouse. I hope that I can someday get to!💋🙏🏾🌹
Judy, I fully agree with you. This is just absolutely superb!! I have to listen to this at least 2-3 a week - and the more I listen, the more I hear! That surely was a magnificent concert!
Agreed, the first time I discovered it a year-and-a-half ago I played it every day for a few months.. and then at least once a week for a long while..and now I still go back to it every so often.
For the Umpt Time... this the epitome of cooperation...well picked group of top musicians..all giants in their art,...bringing them together is...GENIUS
