I have a VSB 250 BXP and love it... after I saw your video, i decided to buy another VS; the VR 75. from one engineer to another, keep up the good work Bert.
People buy $800+ Van Staal reels and think they never need to be serviced! How wrong they are! They end up selling them after 5 years for a $600 loss when a $80-100 service would bring it back to full strength! I fished my Van Staal like a maniac for 10 years and had it serviced once a season and it NEVER failed me! Recently I bought a couple Zeebass reels which I’m liking a lot but with simple servicing your Van Staal will last forever and never fail you!
Nice presentation. Background is black, reel is black! What do we see? Try watching your video, before it is shown on UTUBE. Very important to your subscribers, is to eliminate guessing. We need people like you!
Man so annoying the one side cover is on so tight that I've kinda stripped that plastic on on van staals cheap wrench I'm have to try and take it to a tackle shop that sells them and see if they can get the side cover off for me till I get my two replacement wrenches delivered. I got one side cover off but the over side will not come unloose. It's a VR200
Interesting... unfortunately is not whole process (because you determined pinion bearing is good) so we didn't get to see how to remove the bearing and inner seal
Thank for you the video. I just brought a new vsx150 and I used 3 times. My vsx150 is start making a small clicking sound when I retrieve the line and the spool is twitching. Is this normal?
How much would it cost to replace the body bushing? Mine has shaft/flyer play. Was supposedly just serviced but cant be 100% as I just bought it 2nd hand. And only fished it once so far. Thanks
Hi! After cleaning my VS 150BXP surf X series reel, I did put the side cover on a wrong way, and reel got blocked. Is it possible to repair reel?, and if yes, where? I live in Spain, and zebco-europe already did not work for Van Staal.
put those parts on a table next to a diawa or a shimano and you realize why one brand is known for being smooth and lightweight and the other brand is known for reliability. i love my shimanos and my diawas but i fish my van staals every day.
Hey, I picked up a van staal vs300 lower than 1,500 serial number. I heard the US made ones have a lifetime warranty. Can you confirm or deny this or help me find a number to contact them directly. Thank you.
Apparently, it was supposed to be sent in for a special service, I think we who have these first gens might not be serviceable any longer. Or you cut notches into the fasting so a wrench can fit into the handle....or grip it with some tape and vice grips? :(
i like your videos may i ask you a question. I bough a van stal vm150 and when i tested outside on my rod i saw that the handle sometimes was going back rewerse way also! seems weird , suppos to be like that or ,someth wrong with my reel? thankyou
You guys still servicing VS reels? I've got a USA made NIB unused reel that turns stiff. Larger size but not known right now. Another early model VS I own is much easier to turn. Can you make my OG one turn easier? Zero other issues. Still has factory grease. :-)
