If you're looking for an Iceland campervan rental, you've come to the right place. In this video, we'll give you a campervan tour of our rental van while parked at an Iceland campsite.
Our trip to Iceland in 2021 was a babymoon to remember and it was mostly because of our campervan. We booked through Happy Campers and could not be more pleased with our choice! In this video, we show you why we picked them and some of the add-ons that they offer that can make your time in Iceland so much better.
If you choose to book with Happy Campers, we have a discount code just for you! Use code: TWS5 to get 5% off your rental. happycampers.i...
While we loved our experience with Happy Campers and highly recommend them (especially if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option!), we know some travelers have different needs. We’ve rounded up all the best rental options in Iceland and compared them so you can choose the best option for your trip to Iceland.

Hey! Thank you for the awesome videos. Im planning on going in 5 month from now. In your camper van, did you have to bring any of your bedding or sleeping bags?
@twowanderingsoles
@twowanderingsoles 11 месяцев назад
We did not. I can’t remember if it comes with a linens package or not, but we had pillows, sheets, and a comforter.

Very helpful thank you! - One question is my and my wife are a little over 6 feet - do you think we'd be able to fit? Not sure how long the beds go

Looks like the Happy 2 is going for around 320 EUR a day during June, 200 in April. Is that around what you paid?

The rates per day do fluctuate depending on the season, so it’s best to check their website for the most updated information. 😊 We filmed this video in August 2019, and the prices may have changed since then.

Thank you for the tips! Planning to go to iceland in october. How are the roads on that month?
@runaromarsson3655

sometimes slippery in the morning and night, depending on where you are driving and conditions
@twowanderingsoles

We’ve never gone in October, so I can’t exactly speak to that. But after a quick search, Iceland temps in October can hover around freezing so be prepared for the chance of ice or snow on the roads.

Helpful video- thanks. Question: Where are your suitcases in the van?
@twowanderingsoles
@twowanderingsoles 10 месяцев назад
There is plenty of space in the back under the bed for bags and suitcases. We traveled with backpacks so we could just stack our empty packs on top of each other and our shoes next to them.

Now that you have a child too, how do you feel about taking a 2 year old in a camper van? We are considering it! Motorhomes are really pricy in Iceland..

Great question. We’ve taken our daughter on campervan trips in Scotland and Ireland. We also own a campervan in the US and take our daughter on trips all the time. Campervan trips with kiddos is totally do able, you just need to be flexible and patient.

Hello, thanks for the tips. I'm going to Iceland in May and will be renting Happy 1. Can you please share the ballpark cost of gas. So I dont get additional shock when I fill up. Thanks
@twowanderingsoles
@twowanderingsoles Год назад
Hey Abigail! It’s kind of shocking I know, but it’s about $2.25 per liter or $8.50-$9 per gallon (USD). So it good to have a route planned out so you don’t backtrack too much.

So wondering does the heater work work off off propane or battery ?
@twowanderingsoles
@twowanderingsoles Месяц назад
Hmm that is a good question. I think it was the battery because there was no propane hook up we need to worry about. But I’d check with Happy Campers.

Tech question - why do you need a hot spot? Can't you use your cell phone? (We have free international data)
@twowanderingsoles
@twowanderingsoles 5 месяцев назад
The hot spot comes in handy sometimes because it will use local towers (which your int’l plan might too but it’s hard to tell). We also use it for our computers sometimes since we are doing work while on the road.

Where did you shower?
@twowanderingsoles
@twowanderingsoles Год назад
Most campgrounds in the country have bathrooms with showers
@kathrynm9870
@kathrynm9870 7 месяцев назад
Also take advantage of the public swimming pools. They always have showers. I do that in the USA too as they are usually way less expensive than a truck shop shower and you get to enjoy a little swim too - which is great on a hot summer afternoon.
