You can see in the round of 24.67 of van velde that me made a misstroke and almost fell.. this brilliant, especially the end that you can see that he is so tired and keep on pushing.
his left arms does indeed weird thing in the corners, but besides that, his corners are well-skated. and if he's got a bad technique, we wouldn't've been able to skate a world record.
(Met klapschaats) He really hated those new type of skates used. He retired from professional speedskating because of them and came back to claim the olympic title on them.. It also explains is bad technique. He is amazingly strong but just couldn't skate on the new type of skate. Amazing job.
I think it very funny that anyone could argue with the Dutch at speedskating technics and tactics. Check the medalratings at the last Olympics. Even further, as soon as the Dutch swept the medals away, the media in the USA argued about the long distances. That they weren't interesting enough for the winterolympics. I say, sore losers. Should we then cancel all the long swimmingevents from the Olympics too? That would cut your medalperformance hugely. Pls. keep your advice to yourselfs, as long as you keep on copying every Dutch invention in the skatingsport (suits, skates, trainingtechnics etc.) you should really withhold any criticism towards us Dutch!
@Speedskater4life007 You recall some secondary school physics formula with which you presume to understand how Van Velde won. Clearly, you should study harder at your biomechanics and even non-specific classical mechanics.
@Speedskater4life007 Funny that you say that. Your remark on outer lane/inner lane also involves psychology. Could you show me any credentials on the subject of skating, physics or psychology? As a first year student of physics and fanatic skating coach, I'm very interested. I suppose you may know stuff about skating, but you clearly lack any instruction regarding physics.
@OldManSutter10 because this dude is so strong. and because he is havier than most skaters (F = m * a). if he had to start in the outer lage he would not have won that day because he would have had his top speed in a turn at the inside.
