My dog has had seizures regularly for 5 years now, and he takes 5 prescriptions for them in order to not have them all the time. His seizures usually are 2 minutes long but some last up to 5 minutes. I would take him to the vet if he has anymore. Talking to him when he has them doesn't do anything (I've learned through the experience of having to look up dog seizures). They aren't aware they are having them so it doesn't help. Just sit there with him and if you can see he is about to go through one, what will help is putting an ice pack on his lower back will help cool him down and make the seizure not last as long. Just some tips for you. Also, if you have to start giving him scripts, goodrx will become your new best friend! Hope that helps. I hope he feels better 🙏 ❤

Some breeds are prone to seizures from time to time. I had a Black Lab that had seizures, and the Vet said that it was in the breed.... All you can do is cover their eyes and let them know you are there with them. I'm glad Papi is alright, but if it starts to be more frequent there is medications to help Papi. When you start talking about skin care I tend to zone out..I hope you don't mind 🤣👍

I loved the video as always!! You & Dean are great together & you both are so loving to little Pappy. Prayers for Pappy to be ok. My dog (Queensland Heeler) lived to be 18 & she had one seizure in her life (at age 15). It was scary but thankfully she came out of it fine & never had another. 😊🙏🏻💕

My cat has a seizure out of nowhere so I gave her some honey on her gums and she snapped right out of it. maybe his blood sugars are low so if ti happens again try the honey! good luck xo

My dog has seizures every so often without cause. Our vet hasn’t found anything wrong with him. I’ve heard senior dogs can have bad reactions to Frontline and certain meds though so that might be helpful since Pappy is an old boy. The best thing you can do is stay calm and get him through it like Dean did 😊 as long as it doesn’t last longer than a few min he should be okay

You two are adorable and Papi is the best.

My chihuahua has always had seizures randomly and our vet has said it could be from certain cleaning products on the floor or sometimes sprays that are used for pests in or outside the house!! Also, we learned that vanilla ice cream helps him get out of the seizure, and recently we started using CBD oil (for dogs) to help him too!

My senior chihuahua started having seizures completely out of nowhere last year, 3 in a week, so she ended up going on KEPPRA daily. Maybe take him to the vet if he has another one and see what they say. I KNOW how scary it is so keeping you all in my thoughts🐶

I had a poodle when I was younger who had seizures. It is definitely a horrible thing to see. He lived for years with these. We always just held him, talked him through it, and made sure to have a FAN BLOWING on him. I think it really helped him. Also fresh water. Cool compresses. Anything to calm him down. They come out of the blue and then when they are over all is normal. But they are very scary. Definitely get a vet check too though.

My dog has seizures becAuse of his liver. The vet gave him medication but he still has alot of seizures. They keep trying different medications but it's not working. I would get him checked out just to see.
