Great to see that collector box removed from the bike. The bike looks so much better and now spiders have a new home to practise making baby spiders :)
My V&H just shipped today. I have the same bike and color here in Tennessee Daily rider from an average 100-150 miles a day for my job. Rain, Sleet, or Snow I will GO😉
@@grayghost1423 When I first put the quick-release sport bags back on, it rubbed a little. I loosened the bracket bolts & pushed the muffler in as far as it would go & re-tightened. Not a problem sense! Sounds great, runs great.
Thanks for watching. Even though the instructions say to take the center stand off, I didn’t think it was necessary. Unfortunately, the one bolt that holds the resonator on is behind the right side foot control. And in order to get the foot control off, you have to remove the center stand from that foot control.
Hi, thanks for watching. I’m sure the wait will be over soon. I think this motor is a turning point for Harley and it will become their next big thing.
Wow, I didn’t like the look, which is why I went the Screaming Eagle exhaust, but this sound is much better than mine. I did end up pulling my spark resistor out which made mine sound much better, especially on a downshift. It doesn’t look bad in this video on your bike. It didn’t look so good in the parts catalog. Nice!
Thanks. I’ve been running it now for a few months and it has gotten a little throatier with time and also after I added the screaming eagle air filter. I’m happy with it.
@@retiredbiker I’ve only got 1700 miles on mine. I’ve only had touring bikes so it’s a big change for me but I like it. I may look at the air filter as well!
Nice video, very informative. I was thinking of getting this one or the variable exhaust from Aeedea (not yet released) but before that I am planning to just remove the resonator box and install a midpipe straight to the stock muffler. Let's see if that sounds good, if yes then I wont upgrade otherwise either the variable or the vance.
All you can do is loosen it up and twist it around until it doesn’t hit it. And even then it will probably make contact when riding rough terrain. I never really found the perfect placement
Hi. Just purchased a Pan America and found your channel. The Vance and Hines looks good and I like the sound. Do you get any backfire? Any negatives as far as how the bikes runs since the change. thanks
Thanks for wathing. This is just a slip on exhaust and retains the factory catalytic converter so there is no backfire. It still retains enough back pressure and the computer can compensate for the better airflow. When coupled with the Screaming Eagle intake it really opens it up. No negative effects unless you consider the added noise, but thats the reason why we change the exhaust in the first place, right?
@@grayghost1423 no codes or any other problems. The stock computer learns (within limits) the new parameters as long as the converter isn’t removed. This is just a slip on muffler.
@@retiredbiker yes it is, but being a new engine it was a concern for me. My Streetglide ST has slipons with 0 issues, as all of the M8s I had did not, but the twin cams liked a tuner after small mods to the intake or exhaust. Thanks for answering and the video.
Have u tried soft bags with this exhaust? I’m wondering if with soft bags, the sag of the soft bag will rest on the exhaust and perhaps could potentially burn the bag. Just wondering because I see the pipe goes straight back, pretty far back.
I’m running Mosko Moto Backcountry panniers now with it and they don’t come close to the exhaust. But they have a backing plate. I know the HD soft bags require an extra piece to keep them off the exhaust.
I had to adjust it a few times but I’ve managed to gain about .25” space. I heard somebody had said they added a rubber spacer to the stand to get clearance.
@@jbcamaro123 it’s just a matter of twisting that mid pipe to find the right angle that clears everything. And once it’s been tightened once, it’s harder to twist it. There is a sweet spot and I’m sure you’ll find it. I love the sound of it.
Have you noticed any "lean-surging" after installing the V&H on your bike? (Surging at cruising speeds with no load) I'm experiencing surging with mine after the install; the dealer said it sounded like the problem was related to the pipe install and would need a tune, which they don't do.
@@retiredbiker Mine still has the cat too, but I'm still getting the surging. I went with the V&H because it supposedly wouldn't need anything after swapping the pipes. I may have to get a tuner if it bugs me enough. Thanks for the reply!
