+captured911 That is the hazmat tender truck. It supports the full hazmat truck. Essentially carrying additional items that HZ18 can't carry.

The engine company following the box truck (white truck) does it not carry supply lines? I though I noticed an empty hose bed.
@Hall7EmergencyPhotography

Yes it does carry supply lines. They were just covered by the black tarp.

The description says "atrazine," but I'm 95% sure I heard "acetylene" over the radio at 1:52.

Great video! I'd wish it would be legal to listen to Fire / EMS / Police radio over here in Germany

+EnjoyFirefighting - International Emergency Response Videos It's not...?

+starcraftguy1 nope it's not; When you are detected to listen to their radio it can end up in qiute a high fine or up to 2 years of jail time. However it's more or less inofficially tolerated when local, freelance news reporters listen to it to hear about the calls and the location. Arriving on scene the crews know that they must have listened to it somehow but they act as if they don't know (well, there are also other ways to hear about the alarms, having contact persons in the area etc). In the end, a report on TV or in the newspapers and their homepages is also some public relations work etc. But in the end it's still illegal, both listening to the actual Fire / EMS / Police radio as well as using alarm pagers. Even e.g. a company from a fire department may not listen to radio traffic which is concerning another company. There was quite some trouble as a volunteer co. in the Hanseatic City of Rostock listened to the general radio traffic from all CFD and VFD stations in the city Thus it's quite hard to film large scenarios over here, they might be like two blocks away but as filmer you don't know anything about it until you read it some hours later on the newspaper's homepage. As the FD don't run so many calls over here, the result is a loooong waiting time in front of the stations or large intersectionson the main routes for emergency vehicles and most of the time filming nothing at all or just some plain normal apparatus. Got to be very very lucky to film some special operations units, even if you are standing in front of a station with 20+ apparatus

Why is it illegal? Can you listen to airport control towers? I know in England you can't listen to the airport.
@EnjoyFirefighting
@EnjoyFirefighting 8 лет назад
+starcraftguy1 especially concerning the police it's due to tactical reasons, cocerning Fire and EMS it's primarily about personal data, like people's names, addresses and medical indication. It's actually not illegal to purchase and own a scanner, but one shouldn't safe any frequencies from emergency radio traffic Besides emergency radio traffic also radio traffic from railroad agencies, tower / air radio traffic, industrial radio traffic etc are illegal to listen to. In case someone comes across such a frequency by accident he won't get punished, but he has to switch the frequency then and may not forward any information he might have heard on the radio traffic to other persons

In Canada we have tac channels which have secured access. For example, during the Ottawa shooting on Parliament Hill, the first few minutes of ems radio could be heard, after that they switch to a tac frequency.

I no longer use the one when I took this video, but I currently use a BCD325P2.
