I am in my 50s now, a lifelong Vancouverite. I remember being little, and seeing the neon. Oh, how I WISH I could have my old Vancouver back!

Great segment. One BIG mistake is the claim LED last longer than neon...not true and I only hope this was an honest mistake as there is no debate about this topic. LEDs, like all factory products, have a life span built in...unlike handmade neon tubes which can last literally decades.

Behind a wall in Clifton's Cafeteria Los Angeles a neon sign was found behind a wall during renovations, at the time of its discovery it had been illuminated for 77 years. Someone figured the cost of the pirated electricity to be in the area of $17,000, during a conversation about this sign a friend of mine stated that if it had been LED the cost power would have been substantially less. I agreed with him stating that the LED would have burned out in five years
