Vandalized Ghar Ta' Zamberat Malta

This week I decided to visit a cave know as Ta’Zamberat in Mellieha, this cave has a unique feature, a stone face carved into the rock, facing ir=Razzett Tax-Xitan. As usual I was vlogging my adventure, to my surprise I could not locate this feature. Since I saw this on Social Media of Chantelle Cassar, I decided to contact her to help me out. She even send me a photo she took of this sculpture. To my disbelief the face was not there, someone decided to remove it ! As you can see from my video, this got me very upset, and wondered why someone can vandalize such beautiful feature. Since I could not believe someone can be so stupid, I even check on the floor, maybe it got dislodged but to no avail.
What a pity people do such things to our heritage.

Pierre, I was most upset about the missing sculpture, as you also were, it is unbelievable how someone could remove the sculpture, a mindless act of vandalism. On a better note, the area and the views were beautiful. Thank you for sharing your video.

Thanks Pierre. As always, very good videos. So sad to see this damage to the cave. Always some one some where doing damage. Thoughtless b......s!! Love Malta, was stationed there in 1968-1970 at R.N.H. Bighi. Seen so many changes. Visited last year, hopefully back later this year. Married in 1971 to a lovely Maltese girl from Rabat! Take care on your travels.

Thanks Pierre for showing us the vlog concerning the Ta' Zamberat Cave limits of Mellieha. It's quite large with beautiful views, but somehow vandalized by egoist person/people. Could have been some interesting story behind it but without that sculpture there's no reference at all. When hiking or trekking in such places it is strongly recommended NOT even to pick or take any artifacts found around so, one can think how much more is shameful and disasterous to obliterate or damage such historical items. We all must leave everything as we have found and seen in their original place so that other visitors can see and enjoy them as we have been pleased with. It's not even about leave no trace, it's that they destroyed Maltese history. That is the first time I have ever saw that kind of sculpture in Malta.

For me it looks much like a skull it seems that is it was being carved to look like one go to 2:55 and have another good look even on the side when you remarked that someone was carving for water 3:01
