But, after independence,this picture changed, no orders were placed by rly authorities. New units were established by people of other states and they only getting all orders from rlys.

@@harisjilani2313 I am from Jalpaiguri district of North Bengal. Moved to Kolkata for my father’s job in 2004. I am a fish and meat eating pure blood Bengali. But it is true that all business operating in West Bengal has no Bengali owners. Hence Bengalis are being suppressed on their own land and of course in other states as well. Hence time has come for Bengali to wake up and reclaim what is theirs. BJP is non Bengali Hindi heartland party so there are 90% problems in West Bengal because West Bengal shares a huge border with Bihar and Jharkhand.

good for Titagarh Wagons Ltd... by manufacturing and exporting modern coaches, it has somewhat brought back the shine which WB earlier had with Jessop, Burn and Braithwaithe... I have never ridden in the Pune metro but I am sure Titagarh's coaches will be lot better than the junk ICF's plying in Kolkata.. hope in future, Kolkata metro replaces the ICF's with Titagarh's trains... although I have my doubts if Vande Bharat will be manufactured here, but all this is good for TWL nonetheless.. also, if they have to expand, they can buy the Jessop factory near airport.. its just sitting there after Jessop closed..

Ship building should be more supported and many companies are there. Many are made by Bengalis themselves. Tradition of ship building is centuries old in Bengal and this industry will probably be active for centuries to come. And it will help Bengal to go from agrarian to industrial based economy which is how a region gets developed generally.
