It is a beautiful song that is suitable for listening alone to remember the entry of the new millennium. Concerts. The current generation does not listen to other songs.
Maxi Shield brought me back here....her hidden mic in that lip sync was genius! This song is pure joy! THE gay bar bop of the early 2000's! Brings me back to my youth 😉😁😀😃
It's such a great "feel good" song and when she sang this at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics it was spectacular. It was the last free and open world celebration before 9/11. The world has never been the same. This song will always make me remember those pre-9/11 days. We didn't realize how good we had it.
Man I miss this kind of simple feel-good dance pop of the late 90s and early 2000s. The whole vibe was just different to what we have now. No vulgarity, no materialism, no nudity / overt sexuality. Just good tunes with good vocals 👌
@@michaelrobertson714 it's not a one hit wonder. Amorossi had other hits with Shine, The Power plus her most recent hits a decade ago. But yes this one is arguably her best.
Thing is, she didn't compared to what lipsynchs have become over the years, requiring acrobatics and death drops - but she remembered the real purpose of a lipsynch, to perform the f-ing song as a drag queen, and she did it flawlessly! No slayage, just tea.
This song is fantastic and never wears out! It brings me back to the Sydney Olympics and since then every time hear it makes me feel happy and inspired. I find that lyrics mean more and more to me, singing along with this is like a positive affirmation.Thank you Vanessa for blessing us with your music and positivity!
I was 11 years old dancing in the lounge with my family watching Sydney 2000 Olympic closing ceremony now im 30 good times. Blessed #LoveFromNewZealand
Same,I was 16yrs..I absolutely loved that song..She was wearing a silver dress and performing the song.still remember ..(sorry about my english .Im from Sri Lanka .)
I have been looking for this for more than a decade!!!! But could only remember the first line if the chorus.... well you can imagine what my husband thought.... I'd dreamt/made it up!!!
I'm from Malaysia. We have a water theme park in our capital called the Sunway Lagoon, and they had a pool that had artificial waves. I remember my parents bringing me there when I was only about 6, really young, and the DJ was mixing to this song. I remembered it so well because its beats were just so addicting. Today after so many years, I still dance to the beat of this. Wish time passed slower. It's been 17 years since I first heard this song, to me it's still gold.
Life was so simple, beautiful and exciting back then, it was before smartphones, our culture was more fun and it was the turn of the Milennium. The last great decade of music❤
This Song just gets to move me around the world...am dancing to this under the full moon, am feeling so good I really feel a part of the loving Universe. I love you, humanity to the world of love!
She's from Australia, like Kylie Minogue !! I love the Rhythms and Vibes from Australian Pop Artists so much !! She has got a great Voice, so sorry she didnt sing anymore...want a Comeback!!
@@wattlebough People get offended by everything these days including this song in the old days of the peace and prosperity of the 90's, which was ephemeral.
@@colinskumautz6097 That year Australia led the UN operation that gave East Timor independence from Indonesia going in first with 5,500 Aussie troops on the ground in Dili. We were proud to be Aussies helping restore peace after the departing TNI and their sponsored militias burned nearly every home in Dili to the ground.
Me and my work friends heard the song on the radio and we danced to the song. Then our boss came in, heard the song for a second and joined us in dancing to this song. That happened today. Best boss ever. 👏🏻
My sister used to be a big fan of her. There was this club of fans that wrote to vannesa as penpals ..she's so humble. Fast forward to 2020 it's been almost 20 years .
What a tune! The last time I heard this was at a cruise ship last year in November on the last day where all the crew went to the stage. Brings back memories!
This song was everything to me in my childhood and it comes over my work’s PA and I’m like YEESSS audibly in the middle of the work floor, and broke down whilst stacking the onions 🤣 I will dance to a bop anywhere
It is incredible that an action as simple as taking a microphone from somewhere, Maxi Shield was able to give some of the best lipsync of the season and maybe the entire DragRace franchise
I've always loved this song and Drag Race DU rekindled that love. We danced to this as a production number for a dance competition. And my team won that night and I won star dancer too! That was a night to remember. Maxi Shield sent me flying with that microphone rhinestoned for the gods! Haha! And I love me some Elektra Shock! I am rooting for her and hope she goes all the way.
I absolutely adore this song. I can still remember dancing to this song in summer 2000, it was a wonderful time back then, without social media and/or smartphones. It was pure life. Still miss it, because today, there isn't any good in this world anymore.
Really where you from, this was released in many countries in the 90's in 1999 and her album: The Power came out in Spring of 2000! Should dig CD album out and put it on my MP3 player!
This Song just gets to move me around the world...am dancing to this under the full moon, am feeling so good I really feel a part of the loving Universe. I love you, humanity to the world of love!
I still love this song. Even thought I have this song on a CD single, I don't play it all that often as it's not on my phone library. So good to hear it during a RU-vid playlist.
