All of this distance and dislike for Koby's parents was simply because Koby's parents had their young son's interest at heart. He was marrying Vanessa at a very young age without a prenuptial agreement, and Vanessa never got over that. What would she do if one of her daughters wanted to get married young, just like their father did, without a prenup? It's so sad that Koby's parents never had a relationship with their own grandchildren, especially after losing their son. If Vanessa really loved her husband, she would've made amends with his parents and siblings instead of carrying out this grudge with them. I don't care what anybody says, Vanessa will eventually answer for what she's doing. Mr. Bryant died from a broken heart. 💔 May he rest with his son and granddaughter in peace.

Knowing the Kobe I had known since he was 14 years old, he didn't discuss his issues at all with his children and he probably didn't go that deep with his wife because the issue wasn't with both his Dad and mom. And it was one phone call that caused Koby to "cut ties"

I met Kobe and His father when he was 14 years old. Had many short and long conversations with Kobe when he attended Sixers games with his dad and cousin. From what I knew of Kobe, he didn't cut his parents(and siblings )off because of his mom or dad doing something scandalous to him or a dislike of his wife And he didn't really have an annoyance with his dad, as he did with his mom. Kobe cut them off because he was a grown man who wanted to make his own decisions without his parents(mostly his mom) trying to direct his life, and he was tired of siblings continuously asking him for "financing" The final straw for him was when he decided to pay off the mortgage and business debt of Vanessa's parents, and Koby's mom called and JOKED "oh, if you payed off her parents mortgage, I know you're going to buy us a house" Kobe, got pissed and hung up on his mom. And she tried to call back. But he never picked up. Although he was upset I think he was embarrassed that he hung up on his mom. So when he dad called back, Kobe didn't want to answer to his dad to why he hung up on his mom. So he didn't answer his dad's calls. ...Kobe cut them off. Part of it was immaturity and not just telling his parents to back off and that he was his own man and was going to make his own decisions

To be honest I find her to be quit vile. That amount of money she will never spend and she doesn’t have to be best friends with his parents but she could have given them a sum to live comfortably to live well as that still would not have taken from the fortune she has inherited and not earned or contributed to earning. This is a matter of character because but for his parents and clearly his father as a basketball player himself there would be no Kobe Bryant. She could have given them a sum so that even if they come back for more she could show she had done something decent in regards to her kids grandparents. Dr Umar like him or hate him talks about the blck men and their wealth and how it leaves the community cause she hasn’t done anything for blck people not even his parents with the money. The rate at which blck men marry outside of their race when they get a certain financial stage is unlike any other race.

Their marriage was sorts like a arranged marriage. It was too much on the line. As a diehard Lakers fan since ‘80 i can say that Kobe was incredibly too hard on his parents, especially his moms…. My own mom who shared a bit of wisdom with me said “that if i ever become a millionaire but showered my mother in law with houses. And vowed to support her for the rest of her life. That she (my moms) would be furious at me too. Because she carried me 9+ months. What Kobe did is the biggest form of betrayal in a mother’s heart. So families out there, pls reconcile before something tragic happens?

This is not on Vanessa...She made sure her mom was covered...It wa Kobes responsibility from the jump to take care of the ones that took care of him. He should have set his parents up and made provisions gor them in the event of his demise. The right thing to do as a Widow would have been to take care of his parents but the responsibility was Kobe's. Sometimes you can do everything right and your kids still grow up to be ungrateful. Now other communities and families will benefit from Kobe and his parents work and sacrifice...rinse wash repeat. Nothing new here...we do this all the time. Just my humble opinion. 🙏🏾

Kobe had a girlfriend in high school at the same time Brandy went to prom then he meets Vanessa an around that time around video shoot then HER MOTHER THE SAME MOTHER THAT IS SUEING HER NOW. Kobe made a mistake marrying this woman a huge mistake in which his parents try to help him avoid, However I believe that he was forced to marry her. No one attended the wedding not even anyone on the team. Kobe's parent knew that Vanessa did not come from a good family. They also thought he would marry his high school sweetheart whom they knew well. In fact, Vanessa and her mother are now estranged She sued her own daughter just after Kobe's death. Her mother was all on Telemundo crying these people are sick and they tried to warn Kobe however he was another black man with a problem. Kobe's name will not be carried on as Vanessa did not have a son. God spoke through that. She is a very sick woman. However, due to her cultural background Mexican people can be very racist you have to realize she does not have that concept. I feel for her children.

I will preface by stating that I didn't agree with Vanessa Bryant's post. She could of showed more empathy. But the facts are that Kobe's parents were not financially responsible with their money before Kobe got to the NBA. I know people that are in that circle. His parents lived with him until he got engaged to Vanessa. His parents thought that he was too young to get married and they were not nice to her whatsoever until she got pregnant. His mom really had an issue with the situation. Mom didn't like the idea of Vanessa disrupting her lifestyle. So because they treated Vanessa poorly etc, he cut them off until she got pregnant. Vanessa's mom is not a nice person and is known for using people. I think Vanessa would have still taken care of her mom, maybe not to the level of Kobe. I do believe his parents could have been acknowledged more at his funeral. But the reality is that they don't have a relationship and they never really did. So I guess in her mind she wasn't going to be fake about it.

Kobe Bryant's parents were so disrespected at that memorial that it made me so livid. Its like Kobe's parents were invisible. Everyone was all glued on Vanessa Bryant and her pain, but what about Kobe's parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and grandparents pain?? If it weren't for Kobe's parents there wouldn't be a Kobe Bryant for the world to see. Kobe's relationship with his parents were strained but a year before Kobe died, Kobe did reconcile with his parents and slowly started rebuilding relationship with his parents and siblings as well. Honestly I feel Vanessa Bryant is a golddigger and was only with Kobe cause he was becoming a famous basketball player with money. Vanessa Bryant is Latina, and the majority of Latinos are racists. Vanessa caused the strain with Kobe and his parents. Kobe's parents were racist, they just felt Vanessa was only with Kobe for his money. Vanessa needs to personally take the initiative and bury the hatchet with Kobe's mom and comfort her as best she can. That being said, considering the Bryant’s didn’t attack her character (I’m sure there’s a lot they could say about her) while she was at her most vulnerable, I’d hope she do the same and keep it classy. If she can’t say something nice then she shouldn’t say anything at all. I’m sure Pam is really going through it right now and Venessa’s been where Pam is. She knows the pain of losing the love of your life. No widow deserves to be kicked while they’re down. That’s unnecessarily cruel. The instagram post was not her giving condolence. That was straight up shade because she’s never forgiven them for having Kobe’s best interest at heart (Kobe and Vanessa hardly knew each other when they decided to get married without a prenup) so let’s not kid ourselves. This could’ve been a teachable moment. Clearly she has not learned anything from Kobe’s death. Life is too short too precious to hold on to stupid grudges. Joes passing could’ve been the first step towards healing and making amends. But she’d rather keep the feud going.

Ppl don’t realize, VB didn’t have much of an incentive to make amends with the Bryants. You could see that at the memorial. Everyone rallied around her. She is friends with a listers like Beyoncé and Jay, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, etc. Her girl clique is LaLa, Ciara, Serena Williams, Monica, Khloe Kardashian, etc. Kobe’s family seems somewhat shunned. That’s what I interpreted from his memorial. So Vanessa feels like she’s untouchable… Since Kobe left her close to a billion, she really should have given some of the millions from that lawsuit money to his parents. It was their son whose charred remains were photographed and leaked. She and her kids were already BEYOND set for life. But maybe it’s some thing about the situation we don’t know. Maybe she was really terrorized by his mother or some thing and we just don’t know all the gory details…who knows. The whole thing is quite sad.
