I disagree... I believe the whole song is a masterpiece. The intro and outro wouldn't work if it wasn't for the whole thing. It's an absolute masterpiece. Excellent lyricism. Excellent singing with a lot of refinement and control but still exploding with passion and messiness at the right times (on the styling of contemporaries Meredith Brooks, Fiona Apple, Alanis Morissette, Michelle Branch, Shakira). But aside of the incredible use of the instrument of the voice... the use and the amounts of other instruments... all at the right time. Violins sounding happy, electric guitars crying with sadness at moments but sounding happy at others, drums not overpowering the voice and enhancing the journey of the song but still exploding at the right parts, and what to say about the piano? Even perfect is an understatement. The happy bells, the sounds of percussion... Again, this song is a masterpiece as a whole.

I remember hearing this song when I was a little boy, about 7 or 8 with my brother. It’s always made me feel some kind of way. We used to talk about when we got older and how we’d always have each other. Now I’m 22 and he’s 20 and doing good for myself and so is my brother. It’s kind of like we made it and everything is going to be alright ❤️
That's good, I hope you still have each other's back. It's good to have memories with your siblings. I'm 22 as well and my younger sister is 16, we always listen to music and we are similar in a way. Being a pre teen/teen in the 00s, this song reminds me of the summers of my youth. I literally feel something so nostalgic when I hear this song it's crazy....don't grow up it's a trap!!
Same way. I was 13 or 14 when this came out. My dad, his two brothers and grandfather had built a modest beach house on the bolivar peninsula in Texas. At that age, this was my favorite song to come on at night over the radio as I sat by myself listening to the waves and this song on, lightly, in the background. I remember not thinking of anything. School, sports, life, no thoughts at all. Just the salt air, the waves and this song was all that I had. Now that we’re in our 30’s, we have too much to think about. I’m glad I had those moments of serenity then. I’m glad we both had this song then and now. Hang in there!

This might be odd to some but, my life completely fell into a million pieces bc of a friend’s betrayal and I had to send my son, 10 years old at the time, to go live with my mom. This song was on the radio a lot during that time and I had dedicated it to him bc i wasn’t able to see him every day. It was a very difficult time but we got through it. Although it’s been years, I still get choked up😢when I hear this song☺️♥️

This was the first song we listened to when he was 10 and I was 9 years old , he was my crush and I never get to tell him that. Now he's successful and debuted as an artist and never once does he remember me ..Im thinking he never misses me and thats sad. But this song always has a memory of him to me..brings me always back to that time. I still keep that green candy wrapper we had when we were smaller , it was the happiest memory I had with him.. P.S A little update, I went back to my hometown (because of covid) and saw him again, we did say our greetings but it was a bit awkward..I guess its normal since we havent really talked for many years, He says hes staying for a bit since its covid and he missed his family :) And I must say ,he's becoming more handsome. Really happy to see him becoming more successful ...and I also heard he got a girlfriend :> they've been together for a year now..just the same company as him, I felt a bit sad but I realized he deserves happiness as much so Im still genuinely happy for him :) +september 2021 update: He went back to work and before he left..we had a little talk...he asked how I was doing and I said I was busy with my business as usual (I bake )...he then asked if I could bake a cake for his girlfriend and that she would be happy to meet me...and I just smiled and I hated it because it was an awkward smile but I then said "ofcourse. Invite her over next time" ..he shared that his girlfriend is having a hard time because she quit her job..and etc. , i couldnt help but notice how he smiles alot when talking about her...My heart was aching a bit I admit but sometimes...you just have to sacrifice your feelings for someone's happiness...I guess its the karma for not telling him how I feel..or he's just not really into me haha

I remember when I was a kid about to start into my teenage years, this song was on the radio from time to time. Unluckily they never said the name of the singer, neither how the song was called. It wasn't until remembering some songs I used to like, that this song jumped out of nowhere. And once listening to it, I couldn't but feel as happier as ever. ^^
Literally every time I see or hear the words "making my way", I continue with the first set of lyrics to this song. I never even listened to it much myself, but my sister played it constantly in her room when we were kids, and it just sorta became one of my favorite songs naturally.
