Really love it if they could do more Classic WoW moments into a cutscene like that. Maybe Nefarian, AQ and especially the Ashbringer event or KT in Naxx.
wasn't she chased away from stormwind and then killed by raiders in her cave? I'm not sure about the timeline here but blizzard have been known to take liberties with the story.
@Robert Vrabie I watched like half of it and made a comment. Then edited that comment after watching the video. Lol. To be fair, the title of the video IS a bit misleading.
Ever since the first time I ran thru Westfall (Dec 2010), I've felt that the Defias had a point... Of course the point is heavily undermined by the fact that they're based in THE most fertile farmlands in the Alliance. Get all those Homeless settled and farming and the problem sort of takes care of itself. You've still got people starving around Sentinel Hill, and there's that stupid quest where you have to gather *coyote tails and mud* so people can eat... on a farm FULL of pumpkins and with pigs wandering around everywhere.
The amount of comments that haven't actually watched the video is staggering. Yes its click bait but all Vanessa did was shatter the amulet filled with onyxia's power.
this is hands down the best heritage armor quest line holy shit ugh i miss playing wow but i know what’s gonna happen .. ima log on and get bored in like a week and be mad that there’s no new bgs 😂
While you gotta wonder how such a powerful Artifact lay around Stormwind for so many years instead of giving it to someone like Jaina or Khadgar, this is a sweet little Story. Iirc it was Onyxias influence that caused the Defias Brotherhood to form under Edwin Van Cleef in response to her massively screwing over the people, so it's nice it finally end with another Van Cleef
Does the game account for your character killing Edwin Vancleef or Onyxia if you had actually played long enough to do that? Or have they completely given up giving nods to deeds players who have played a long time
Omg I’m like 99% sure the voice actor for Vanessa is Karen Strassman! (Double checks) yesss I’m right! I’ve played too much LoL and know her from like the 3-4 champions she voices from that game.
Why is everyone so mad about a single NPC wearing pants now? You know you can just take your own pants off if you want to look at some legs, does it really matter that much?
@@philippeblais8594 Stabs him in the head then decapitates her, one of the most badass action scenes in the whole franchise The idea alone of retconning that is insulting
Soon as they said the Drakefire Amulet had been stolen, I went to my bank and pulled it out to equip it. "What do you mean it's stolen, it's right here!" I do like that there appeared to be some alternate dialogue options if your character had completed the quest, at least that's what I'm guessing based on some of the choices available. Yes, I still have random things like my amulet in the bank. Also... Vanessa has pants now :S
The Marshal Windsor cutscene at the beginning is slightly different if you've done the quest back in the day, mentioning that obviously you know the story since "you were there" and it's shown that you also receive the amulet vs it being locked in a chest for players who don't have the quest flag
It aint right, I tell ye! That woman aint been wearin' pants for 5+ years and now they go and cover up those glorious thunder thighs. A gosh-darn crime against humanity if ye ask me.
@@anthonyracaniello4082 Its about time. Blizz can revive them if the story actually calls for it and/or there's actually another Warcraft game that could use them, but its long overdue for them to no longer be a current threat to Stormwind. Vanessa/Hope can still do things, have her followers, learn any possible secrets of her family if that's a thing that could be interesting.
Wow writers: "We need a Stormwind noble to be corrupted/manipulated from the shadows. Who's manipulating them, though?" ... Random writer: "... Uh, Onyxia?" Wow writer: "yes it's perfect. "
actually she was resurected once so who knows .... also the Twilight Hammer Cult isent dead so its a high chance N'zoth is coming back and could have manipulated certain events so ....
@@Necroionutwiz No, it was AKSHUALLY the Jailer, who planned for this 10000000 years in the past so that he can return in the future with all his buddies after he resurrects Arthas and Nzoth and Nefarian and Deathwing so that they could form the ultimate Team to fight the encroaching darkness in the universe thats totally there!
@@damiencrossley7497 I don't see it. They pay tribute to 'old WoW' almost all the time, save for MoP and Pandaria expansions because I imagine its very creatively draining to keep referencing the old stuff all the time. These questlines however, are probably saying some kind of farewell to certain storylines that had been in the pocket since Cataclysm or so. Dragonflight has been the most Old WoW in several years, whether stories or mechanics.
Just to recap: there was a World of Warcraft comic between mainly Onyxia and Varian. In this comic (the abridged version): - Onyxia was responsible behind the creation of the Defias Brotherhood. She's the one who convinced the other nobles they were just doing their civic duty and didn't need compensation. - Onyxia convinced most of the Alliance forces to be sent to the Jungles of Stranglethorn, which allowed her brother Nefarian, as well as whatever else was happening in the burning steppes be unimpeded (Where the Horde canonically kills Nefarian, as well as Rend and Maim Blackhand) - Onyxia was able to puppet Varian by splitting his personalities in two with magic from a sea witch. Manipulating and taking advantage of Varian's good nature leaving the other half for dead. There, Varian joined with Reh'gar Earthfury as a Gladiator, as well as meeting Valeera Sanguinar and Broll Bearmantle for the first time, and earning his nickname "Lo'gosh" the Ghost Wolf. - After Varian confronted...Varian. the two finally became whole once more and took the fight to Onyxia herself. Slaying the Dragon Queen who destroyed Stormwind from within.
I mean, most of their time went into the Dracthyr build-up questline for the future of mainly the Dracthyr but also black dragon related things as a whole in 10.1 where you will wittness Wrathion and Sabellion being the usual children that they are and then there's Ebenhorn/Ebyssian who wants nothing of their banter...
@@josephkleimola2 "Not that way." "A matter of how you look at it." How'd you contradict yourself so quickly? But also yes they were robbing farmers. That's stealing from innocents. lol
Vanessa was a victim just like his father all because of Onyxia, I'm glad Shaw helps his old friend's daughter and she finally breaks the cycle of hate and revenge killing that freaking dragon AGAIN, simple but works cuz we know how everything happend and onyxia was the one who pulled the strings in the first place
I don't understand why they put pants on Vanessa? Can my boy John Keeshan get a shirt too then?.. no?.. it's okay if only men have bare upper bodies?.. oh..
Always great to see the past come back for players. I remember reading up on the story of Onyxia, it was probably one of my favorite plot points in early WoW. I am slightly disappointed that this wasn't going to wind up leading to hints of a greater conspiracy - that this wouldn't be the start of rumors of a returned Black Dragonflight faction that still kept to Neltharion/Deathwing's legacy and serve as a potential plot point for the stuff going on in Dragon Isles. But I think it's a great way to tie up loose ends. It's always sad when major characters - main, side, or otherwise - get abandoned after they had their moment in the limelight in their expansion.
i think im giving up youtube, seriusly spoiler titles and thumbnails sucks the fun out of everything, im not subscribed to this channle, i know nothing of this channle, i never clicked on anything of this channle but it still shows up in my face on recomended
So that new lady and Vanessa will make a couple. Because every rogue is gay and who wrote those dialogues? If I take a shot every time Shawn say "Vanessa!" I would be drunk in less than 10 minutes. Gzzz
Can they stop retconning? Changing a drop into an important lore item to excuse the actions of rich nobles who didnt want to pay bills. Let the Alliance be actually flawed. Not #flawed.
I think the Main Theme of Dragonflight is Peace. Baines Peace with the Centaur, Thralls reuniting all Orc-Clans, The Stormwind-Humans with the Defias, or for the Start with Vanessa.
Does everyone except the player get credit for killing Onyxia? I swear, theres like a line around the block as she gets rezzed and killed. Who will kill Onyxia next? Hogger? Kael'thas? Anduin? Find out in the next exciting episode of Warcraft Ball Z.
@@lanzer6990 Wasn’t referring to Onyxia dying being the spoiler.. the spoiler is obviously referring to what happens during the human heritage quest line💀
Are you surprised, NewBlizz is against anything that could be remotely sexual as someone will be offended by it. I got this randomly recommended and it's painfully obvious the shift the company has gone
Wow, I'm actually shocked how well this was done. An actual decent ending to the BrotherHood story like, and, I'm happy Hope got an ending that respected her, and she can be a use later on.
@@powerflumi Because the change heavily implies in the expression of it that she did nothing of her own and only succeeded because she essentially cheated. Everyone loves a Magnificient Bastard. Few people love a cheater. For example, Death in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a Magnificient Bastard, many people love Death, while Jack Horner is just a cheater, few people love Jack Horner, they just love to hate him instead, which is the mark of a good character. And he has no scheming component, no guile, he just powers through with the help of all his magical artifacts. And while he's a great force with him he's just a man without.
