Thanks for sharing this. He is such a great artist. 19:32 "Inspiration is to be able to vibrate in the right moment...The enemy of this...something will happen to stop the vibration, but creation is always there...inspiration is nothing more than being in tune"
thanks for uploading i was at the live performance in rome at caracalla therms it was very astonishing to stay among the ruins with vangelis smooth synths for 2 hours, he played like a stream of consciousness in his own music style
This man was a legend. I discovered his music when I discovered the great band he was in with Demis Roussos (another legend) and Lukas Sideras, called Aphrodite's Child. He wrote most of the songs. On old footage of this band you see him play the old fashioned equipment and look what he has here. But it doesn't really matter, this man could play everything. Just divine music. Demis was a great philosopher too, one of the best singers (he also played bass) we ever had.
He was so close to God through the realm of music that anything else besides the process of creating/manifesting what he received from the source was insignificant to him, even painful.
It's a pity can't see this concert. In Rome, is there? Maybe exists a second part in VHS video? Dreams come true! So many truths said Vangelis, and his music always immortalized! Thank your for the video.
Thinking of the irony with all those great synths, the Arturias, Hydrasynths, Behringers, Roland, Yamahas etc that try to recreate presets of Vangelis while at the same time they don’t invest where they should like improving the dysfunctional UI interface that remove the immediacy of creativity …. Vangelis had already said that in this interview !!! If only these companies could listen more
Wowowowow!!!! Awesome interview, its clear that the interviewer is pissing Vangelis off but thus has a positive effect because Vangelis injects more passion into his answers AND at the same time teaches that prick some manners....ps thunderstorms!!!!!!
Wishing youtuube had maximizer for volume. What you ask a normalizer is actually a maximizer after normalizer but a maximizer can do both making soft sounds hearable and loud sound contraint, it's a maximizer you want.
So is it pronounced Van-gel-iss. Or is it pronounced like his name Van-ga-los? I heard it said both ways and it's driving me bonkers! I've said it Van-gel-iss my whole life.
