Got this tent for £150 on eBay second hand...but almost mint condition. It is an experiment, as I have the Naturehike Opalus 2, which weighs in at around 2.3kg and has a huge porch. I don't particularly want to have a tent collection, and would prefer to just have a one person tent, and a two person for camping with my girlfriend or when I fancy a bit more space, so I will probably be weighing up which I like the most and selling on whichever doesn't win.

So, this weighs in at almost bang on 2kg, and as with many Silnylon tents, is about 3,000 mm HH on the outer fly, but slightly more on the groundsheet, which is rated at 6,000mm HH. One noticeable thing, is the toughness off the groundsheet, as they use a hefty 70D nylon, compared to a lot of lightweight tents that use 20/30D. It is amazing that they were able to do that whilst still keeping the weight so low. I love the colours of the tent, and the quality is top notch. I also love that there are tonnes of pockets in the inner for organising gear. I like the two porch/entrance set up, which is perfect when two people are camping, without having to crawl over each other to get in and out, or for choosing which to use depending on wind/rain direction.
The poles have a colour coding system, which is necessary due to one end being taller than the other, however, (and this is my only criticism so far), is that there doesn't seem to be any indicator on the fly to show which end is which. Maybe there is no particular way it needs to go, which would explain the lack of colour coding, but in my head, because the tent is asymmetrical, it should only go one way. I could be wrong.
Either way, it is a fantastic top end tent, bought at what I feel to be a bargain price, but will need to take it out to get a better feel for it. One advantage it will have over the Opalus, is that it has a smaller footprint and will be easier to find places to pitch, compared to the longer tunnel tent. I also imagine the Vango is a stronger tent, and will withstand winds better, but we shall see 🤓
