This zone never got enough love. Most horde would immediately jump to the Barrens once they were out of the starting zone. I always loved Silverpine, great place to level fishing and farm cloth.
That's a part of its charm and adds to the atmosphere - the player traffic is lower and you can immerse yourself lurking with daggers drawn in the shady forests full of werewolves, undead and such, with Alliance encampments on the south eastern side.
This zone and Tirisfal were my childhood 2004, 14 yrs old, I fell in love with WoW for these places, Shadow Fang Keep I still believe was singularly the greatest instance dungeon and the Gnolls on Fenris Island were the cause of many a corpse run with my Undead Rogue.
My story exactly! Same age, same year, same race and class. I hope classic starts again in 15 years when the kids are out of the house, so I can experience this again.
I still remember when I played vanilla for the very first time, obviously having no idea about anything related to the game..I made an orc warlock , my friend a tauren warrior. My friend said the undead starting area was the best to begin questing in, so we both walked from our starting areas and began in trisfal glades....the music from 4min I will always remember as we quested in this zone. We would always get asked by undead players what are you doing here lol. Ah the magic
Silverpine Forest was an integral part of hardwiring my first experiences of World of Warcraft into my brain. I didn't realize it at the moment, but gaming history was being written as I worked my way through that zone learning about the world, mechanics and its (non-)NPC inhabitants. My friend got me to switch to The Barrens for a while to bridge a level gap, and that definitely was the more popular alternative, but the eerie - though also relaxing - forest atmosphere of Silverpine was unmatched. I remember it feeling like a homecoming moving back to it after my sidequesting The Barrens. From an MMORPG noob perspective back in the early days it was quite amazing to discover that there were parallel zones available in different continents (!) for leveling, making the world seem like a larger-than-life infinite adventure. Good times. Too bad you can't erase memories to experience that special first time over again, something revisiting it through WoW Classic cannot achieve.
Hey! I do agree that post-Cata was too much of new Forsaken. Thank you for sharing your memories too, welcome to the channel and I'll talk to you soon I hope :) Happy New Year, Meisio
Happy New Year to you, too! Yeah, the addition of the new Forsaken destroyed the haunted feel of the road through the forest. The first time I made the walk on foot (at lvl 10) from UC to the Sepulcher was at night, which made those worgs even more frightening.
Thank you! This (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sr7VTrBluq0.html) is not exactly a walk to the Sepulcher, but it's quite close there. I made it scary for Hallow's End period. I hope you like it :)
axzze Thank you and welcome to the channel! I hope you enjoy my videos :) If there is a zone which you did not found on my videos and you want me to put it on my priority list, please send me a reply. Kind regards, Meisio
I think you covered all in terms of music since some zones share it. When in comes to visuals, how about Blackrock Mountain + the instances inside? BRD has a few good sightseeing places.
There are still few not covered, but I will be making time for them soon. Thank you for the request for the BRD instances. Normally I would have started the instances & raids after I was done with the zones. But you are not the only one requesting instances / raids lately. So I will give it a though and start planning doing them sooner. Please stay tuned and thank you very much on your request. I will not disappoint you! :) Kind regards, Meisio
This is amazing. Very well done! Glad I found this gem of a channel. I very much appreciate the level of detail in your video descriptions and your thorough approach of covering every part of every zone. I do hope that your videos and therefore the atmosphere of Vanilla WoW will remain on the internet forever :) I'll be listening (and sleeping) to them to get my feelings of nostalgia up to peak levels while waiting for Classic WoW.
Hey! Thank you for your kind words and appreciation. You amazed me! :) I have no reason to put them offline and I also prepared them a bit to be future proofed with the 4K resolution. I decided to make these videos when I was certain Blizzard wont do anything Classic WoW. But I am delighted they proved me wrong! Looking forward to the Classic WoW myself :) I hope we talk more, please let me know about any suggestions or requests you might have. I am open to feedback and always happy to make new friends :) Salutations, Meisio
One of my favourite vanilla zones. Such a pity that the quests are so unevenly distributed on the level range (loads of quests 10-15, but barely any 15-20)
Uh... sorry, I did mean to wake you up. It's just a gentle reminder that you can help me greatly with my WoW channel efforts by doing those steps there (mainly for people not sleeping of course). Salutations, Meisio
As an Alliance player i always loved that as well. It was such a dangerous and perilous journey lol. Flying up to Southshore and passing through Hillsbrad, Silverpine & Tirisfal to get there. It was quite a long ride and you never knew what you were going to encounter on the way.
I really like the atmosphere of old Lordaeron and the Lore is just great.. but unfortunately I never played as forsaken because I thought it doesn't fit to the horde..
Oh lord.. the memories. The chill goes down in my spines.. Woahh. The zone's atmosphere.. When I first see this place.. Ahh.. It was midnight, when I was goes there, to kill some lowbies :3 But when I heard the music, It reminds me a horror movie.. (Sorry for my bad english, I am hungarian ^^)
I am not native either, so it's fine. We all speak WoW here anyway :) Yes, the music is horrifying and mixed with the ambience (especially during the night) can have a big impact on your senses. Have you seen the gameplay too? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x-QTq9cIV7Y.html Kind regards :) Meisio
When I got to level 20. I got a quest to go into SFK and kill or retrieve something from Arugal or the pelt from the wolf. Being a warlock and voidwalker tank, I thought I could solo the place. I got past the first room and was like YES! I did it! Then I saw the next room…. I think I abandoned the quest. Back in 2007
You're not crazy! For 1-2 seconds I thought lavender music will start to play. Btw, I've yet to meet (irl) more than 4 ppl who play either game, let alone someone who plays both... Glad to know there are some in the world, gives me some hope I'll eventually meet one... when I'm 80 years old probably 😛 I've already kinda quit Pokemon, wanted to transfer my old ones to the latest version I own, but I haven't even done that. Meh. All the years I've spent catching/breeding Pokemon with good stats, gone to waste, basically.
thank you very much for putting this up. Have you considering doing svp-night also? (svp night also offers the chance for some contrast shots of pyrewood village with the lycanthropes.)
I was actually thinking to do a "night ambience" movie with Silverpine Forest. Also, shoot most of the scenes for Tirisfal Glades during the night. Very delighted because some is paying very close attention at details by the way. Thank you!
Yes, of course. Zul'Gurub, Molten Core and AQ40 are an absolute must. I must figure out how to do them since I am playing a level 60 character (solo!) :)
I was also thinking BWL :), plus instances that are no longer available in their original form (scholomance comes to mind). Do you know your server admins? they could maybe give you a test-mode character that is invisible to aggro? (or however they manage the mechanic for testing)
Can you do a Halloween special, ambience in Brill???? Like show the early hallows end brill town, with or without horesman flying around. Thst would be epic
You mean, one different to the one he had made? Because I remember I had seen one or two Halloween special(s) on this channel. And iirc they (or, maybe not both) featured brill; not 100% sure about it obviously, but yh, just mentioning this in case you haven't seen them already.
My paladin hated worgen for the unholy abominous creatures that they were. Some say after his retirement from adventuring that he still roams Silverpine forest... trying to end their threat to mortal lives.
Hi Karol. On Retail I play EU (Thunderhorn / Wildhammer realm). But I am most likely to switch to a RP server because I became very attracted to the subject. And Vanilla wise, no, I don't play any server. I used to play it, but not anymore. To film it, I am using a server of my own which I pay access to. And I can't call that a play... just doing _demos_ and filming footages in WoW.
I believe the magic of gaming is dead 10-20 years ago when you downloaded a game you could barely find information outside the cd box or forum so it was like a new world to explore and you never knew what you are gonna find exactly, nowadays i am 1 google search of learning the entire game it's mechanics and why it will fail written by a hateful being, it's too mainstream lost it's way like many things.
@@kristiant96the truth can be negative, justifiably. Anyway, having the means to ruin ones own experience by simply looking things up and ruin the game for you would not make games bad or unmagical. Try out some indie games! You'll be back to scratching your head with no safety nets lol
@@kristiant96what?? I was offering you a solution to finding that magic! Not sure why you're being defensive lol hope you can find the magic again and reread what I said in my last comment. Try reading it with a different tone perhaps.
